    The music needs a little space to breath in such a glorious building. The bells need out.

    What a beautiful church, and a great performance! Any videos using that en chamade? I bet that's quite a thing to hear.

    Perhaps a tad too fast for my liking, but I can honestly say I really enjoyed the performance and as a former church Director of Music I know only too well what it's like to perform with minimal resources. I thought the whole ensemble did splendidly!!

    Refreshing to hear traditional music sung powerfully in the Catholic church. A little too fast for me and less is more of the bells, though a nice touch.

      The RCC has a lot of beautiful music if only they would use it.

      Not too fast, but the chimes are almost never on the beat.

      It is very beautiful, and this version by David Wilcox is by far one of the most beautiful I've heard.
      I just wish the organ sang a bit more.

    Well here's a bunch of naysayers. It's just balanced enough for the occasion and suited. Perhaps the the criticism comes from what, one would like to achieve or that one hadn't noticed in one's self. You ponder......

    Sorry, but this is slightly too fast. The tubular bells only sound at the occasional note, and this is a distraction.

      @@shawnkricksmith Hello Shawn, thank you for your question. I am passionate about religious music, and love trying to sing bass parts to hymns. I have a number of clips which just come up from time to time. I watched this clip as Christmas music is possibly my favourite genre, and the easiest to 'sing,' but I found the tubular bell accompaniment off tune, off beat and, frankly, off putting. Is this your sort of music? Ken Jeffery, Nottingham, UK.

    The choir should have been triple the size for the amount of music there was. Could barely hear them. And ditch those damn bells. Those are the most stupid things to have in a church.

    • @pauljosephus697
      @pauljosephus697 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is a congregational carol....not just a choir selection.

      My my my, if you only knew that we had some of the world’s best percussionists join us for a performance of the Vaughn Williams’ “Hodie” you might put a little more respect on our name. This was also 2 am on Christmas morning, give us a break.
