this saved my lifee...I was trying to figure out how to fill in the empty spaces in my panorama sequence....and as soon as I saw your video...you answered my question in less than 5 minutes...Thank you soo muchh
One thing I've noticed with this feature (fill content-aware) is that it samples the stuff nearby, so if there is a flower next to your selection, it will be duplicated. A future addition to this would be to randomize the fill, or maybe a slider so that the user can pick what fill he/she wants. Used the trial. Great videos TutCast!
Hats off to the crazy programmers for CS5. This is so cool that I thought it was a prank at first. I get how hard it is and am blown away! This will save hundreds of hours doing minor touching up on digital photos for anyone who ever has wanted to get rid of some damn powerline or something.
Absolutely incredible. Nice demonstration. I would be curious how you handled removing the grass and restoring the rope in the first demo that was introduced when u used Content Aware to move the individual. For example, do you simply past across the missing rope and then hit Content Aware? Thanks in advance, The Meltdownman
@cpsparow check if the file is saved as a png or a jpg, some B&W plugins transform the file into a png, which is usually large. You can reopen the png and save it as a jpg. Also, when saving the file, you can choose the decrease the quality and there you can see an approximate of final size. Or you could just resize your image to 720p width or 720p height, which is the maximum allowed on FB anyways.
Hi Howard! great tutorial.......I just installed CS5 today and was extremely excited about the Content Aware feature. I have a picture of my niece where the dog got in the way. I tried this feature but it just puts SEVERAL pictures of my nieces face where the dog was. Obviously, not what I wanted. Does this feature not work with removing objects from in front of people or am I doing something wrong?
@bradywadywoo sure it is not perfect, but you also see that in the video. i loaded the trial and can say that it works just as awesome as in that video
@RDedudeM- hey thanx..! but i got the solution..! it was probably just a problem of color selection..! i had selected white as my default color, instead of black.. as soon as i changed that, the command got working..! thanx 4 ur suggestion anyways..! :)
I wonder if content-aware is being overblown. I find that it often misses so badly that it is not really worth using it as a starting point for further corrections. Personally, I'm liking the puppet warp tool more and probably the HDR Pro, even though I haven't fooled around with the latter yet.
Is there a way to remove objects from video with Premier Pro CS5, or can I do it another way with perfection in the CS5 suite? There's an unwanted water bottle in my wedding reception video. Thanks!
@brazillalala i think he means that you can still obviously see where the tool has been, its not as smooth as it could be .... yet, also the panorama has some dodgy bits where it copied the road edge ool becoming much nicer over the next few versions.and made a very odd looking structure in the bottom of the pic. But with Adobes development i can see this becoming much nicer in the next few versions
@starvator, im guessing it takes similar colours from the neighbouring pixels and adds details, as well as taking selections from areas close by to match the surroundings :P complex stuff :L
This is too freaking cool! I am having an issue however...after making my selection, and choosing edit, the "fill" option is grayed out...what am I doing wrong?
i really like the new creative suite 5 but when i'm in photoshop and do the content aware fill-thing..most of the time it gives me an error message saying that i dont have enough memory...arent 4 gigs enough?
@cervantesJEFE It's OK, buddy... I've got CS2, CS3, and now a compact version of CS4, but I'm afraid CS5 would need too much requirements and my PC is a bit slow
i have a question... when i try to do the panorama the images are all together one in top of another on one side and they just wont line up...whats up with that?
I love content-aware. =] But it always seem so much better in these videos than when I try to do it. I guess it only works well depending on the image.
The one aspect about the first two photos that I noticed is that the algorhythm is off. With the first picture it made an awkward door where the person was and in the sign picture it didn't even complete the wall at the bottom where the sign had cut it off..
I bow my head and send my respect to the men who gave their lives to make this amazing tool for Photoshop. I can't wait to get CS5
