Dear Rodney, You are a master. You push these organs to the limit, and I've never heard the likes of it on other reed organs. Thank you for doing this.
Rodney's skill at coaxing dynamics and soulful shades of sound out of the reed organ is truly astounding. A true master at work! My whole family is entranced by your playing. Thanks for sharing these videos!
Fwiw, as a singer who was SO happy when she finally got a reed organ, he uses an organ's bellows in the same we use our lungs - and all driven by what is needed to express the song.
Beautiful! I enjoy hearing your songs on the Reed Organ! I have an Cornish & Co Reed Organ from 1897. It belonged to a singer named Sheryl Crow before I got it. I have had it ever since I was 10. They are wonderful instruments!
Fabulous. My go-to version of this tune was recorded by Maxine Sullivan in an up-tempo swing version. This is so nice in a completely different way. Thank you, Rodney.
Marvellous performance, achieving a very spiritual feeling to this piece. There is nothing quite like the reed organ, it is an underrated sound today ❤ I came across your channel years ago and it inspired me to compose a collection of music for the reed organ, also to try my hand playing a Waddington & Sons chapel harmonium. I would like to dedicate the music to you and share a copy of the score, though I cannot seem to get the contact option on your website to work 😅

What a super treat :)
One of the most evocative Scottish airs played so expressively on the Berlin.
Makes me so ready to restore my reed organ.

Great playing, hauntingly beautiful.
Beautiful! Maybe one day I can get mine back to 'playability'. Built in 1877 I'm sad that I've not been able to have it re-worked yet.
Is it pressure wind or suction?
@@echoplots8058 I do not know.
