I really like how they developed Ada and Leon's relationship through the Remakes! It really makes it seem more believable that they could fall in love. OG RE4 Ada just felt like this unflappable girlboss but they hardly ever spoke before Ada would leave even if she did save Leon's life in the village and with Krauser. In the Remakes, we got to see Ada more vulnerable. I like that now with Seaprate Ways giving us more insight, where she's saying 'Leave the girl, she's lost no matter what' could also be applied to herself too due to her own infection. All the while she is running around getting the ingredients for the suppressant. I love how we can actually see she's affected by Raccoon City from the beginning monologue in SW and also that moment where Leon said 'You think I would give up that easy' where she looks downcast. It was like Ada was remembering when Leon had said that to her all those years ago. I feel like although it was sweet for Leon to say that Ada was a part of him he couldn't let go, it didnt feel as romantic since they barely interacted. In RE4R they actually got to talk on the boat scene and Leon gets to rightfully express that he's hurt. I love that in that moment of everyone telling him that he had changed negatively only Ada had said that he didn't. Like!! He was still angry with her in the beginning of that conversation but she said that, he became more hopeful. Also this time round, Ada simply takes the Amber without holding Leon at gunpoint and he simply lets her go as well. She's helped him so much without him knowing, proving that she had changed and is capable of good. And then when she looks out the window and sees Leon on the window as if HE was a part of her that SHE couldn't let go. Because of this, I can't wait to see how their relationship would develop if they remake RE6.

There's a reason why they showed Ada explicitly betraying Wesker at the end of RE4R instead of in the last minute of OG Separate Ways which a lot of people didn't play. Ada is capable of more good than what people give her credit for.

We all know that she had several opportunities to kill Leon but she would never do that. She always kept him safe, often risking her own life. A person who is willing to risk their own life to keep others safe is certainly a demonstration of love.

RE4 is like the most handsome and beautiful appearance for Leon and Ada , they are just so well design and RE6 as well cuz I love Leon with his dual wielding handgun and the blue agent vest outfit along with Ada new outfit
I love Nick's voice. It is so boyish and innocent! He does a very natural sounding more "manly" voice for RE4R, (very impressive, in fact!), but there is such an endearing quality to his voice in this RE2 remake (which is more his natural voice).
I DO think credit is also due to the director, as Nick's performances in RE2R and RE4R were near-perfect, but definitely different (much less engaging) in "Infinite Darkness." Not that he did anything wrong. It just didn't stand out as much and made that Leon much more blasé.

And if Leon is in 9, they have Nick come back for that too. I just really love what they did with his character arc. Matt isn't bad at all, but other than simply voice register, his Leon was the same as any of the other Leon's before him (as expected). Bravado and "super soldier." This new Leon is just so much more human.

I absolutely ADORE these RE2R /RE4R remakes!!! I hope Capcom keeps the continuity with the Leon they've recreated (though they already kind of ruined it by going back with Matt as VA and character look/personality in "Death Island" 😑) in the games/films going fwd. Nick did an incredible job bringing Leon to life, to someone we could actually really believe in as a person, relate to--not just some action figure caricature! And the design team, well...wow...what a treat for the eyes! 😍
You can easily see how much Leon has changed in those 6 years & what RC did to him. From a starry-eyed police rookie who was in WAAAAAY over his head to a specially trained government agent that has seen some sh*t.

This DLC really does make it look like Leon is still her unwitting pawn, that he still is first and foremost, useful to her and that's why she helps him. She has never truly compromised her final mission outcomes for him and though I do think she has genuine feelings for him, I wonder if she would truly give up her mission for him. He obviously would for her (letting her walk away with the plaga is a HUGE compromise to EVERYTHING he stands for! ). No, she didn't shoot him in RE2R, but she didn't really get a final chance bf Annette shot her and she fell. I'm not convinced she wouldn't have tried to convince him to give the sample to her had she had the chance--and failing that--ended up shooting him. Over all, I love Leon x Ada and the complexity of their feelings for each other. I'm just not as doe-eyed about their prognosis as some shippers are.
I believe she would compromise her own mission for Leon. At the start of Separate Ways chapter 2, Ada says that she made peace with her line of work because people will suffer regardless, but then follows up by saying her night in Raccoon City changed everything. Also when Luis dies, he tells her "Thanks for giving me the chance to do good again" and she references this when she sabotages Wesker's plan to blow up the island. Then we see her refuse to give Wesker the plaga sample at the end, showing that she is willing to give up her mission (and risked her life) to prevent innocent casualties. If she would defy a very powerful man like Wesker to save random innocent lives, I think she would for Leon, someone she cares about.

I just got a feeling her way with Luis was the most real she ever was. She spoke normally and even seemed playful at moments. She had no need to be his buddy. In fact, when she had to get down to business, THAT was when she was back to stern, cold fish (like she was finally insistent on getting the amber NOW!). Point being, when she could be real, she WAS real (like with Luis). When she was business-only, she was cold, calculated. And this is how she seemed to be with Leon and while regarding things with him. Again, I don't think she lacks all feelings for Leon. It's just that her behavior in this DLC seemed to support him still being more of a "job" to her than true love.

It wasn't just Lily's bad acting. She was much more of a normal person in RE2R. In RE4R, they both were a bit more video game hero/spy archetypes, but she esp seemed all femme fatale, sometimes acting as if they hardly even knew each other.

I just finished RE4 Remake and youtube recommended this video... bizarre to see RE2 Leon sounding so young, it's the same voice actor? The dude has some range. As for Ada, seems obvious her voice actress was someone else in RE2 (I will play this game eventually, not a big fan of survival horrors, jump scares and so on, but RE4 is arguably a top 3 game alltime for me). I am aware the fanbase dislike Ada's voice in RE4, but I think she performed a decent job, at least her voice is different and unique, every female VA in the industry sounds like Laura Bailey, it's so annoying, Ada in RE2 is just like that, generic Laura Baileish... in RE4 she sounds unique for better or worse (for the better imo)
They wanted to make him look haggard, rough. They shy away from that with the "pretty" characters, and in turn, usually leave them looking more plastic, artificial. I noticed that esp in earlier CGI with men vs women. In leaving women's skin more smooth and poreless, they looked like dolls. Men's little skin bumps and wrinkles not only made them look more rugged but more REAL. They're getting better about that, but even with these remakes, esp RE4R for some reason, Ada sometimes almost shone like plastic.

This DLC really does make it look like Leon is still her unwitting pawn, that he still is first and foremost, useful to her and that's why she helps him.
She has never truly compromised her final mission outcomes for him and though I do think she has genuine feelings for him, I wonder if she would truly give up her mission for him. He obviously would for her (letting her walk away with the plaga is a HUGE compromise to EVERYTHING he stands for! ). No, she didn't shoot him in RE2R, but she didn't really get a final chance bf Annette shot her and she fell. I'm not convinced she wouldn't have tried to convince him to give the sample to her had she had the chance--and failing that--ended up shooting him.
Over all, I love Leon x Ada and the complexity of their feelings for each other. I'm just not as doe-eyed about their prognosis as some shippers are.
I believe she would compromise her own mission for Leon. At the start of Separate Ways chapter 2, Ada says that she made peace with her line of work because people will suffer regardless, but then follows up by saying her night in Raccoon City changed everything. Also when Luis dies, he tells her "Thanks for giving me the chance to do good again" and she references this when she sabotages Wesker's plan to blow up the island. Then we see her refuse to give Wesker the plaga sample at the end, showing that she is willing to give up her mission (and risked her life) to prevent innocent casualties.
If she would defy a very powerful man like Wesker to save random innocent lives, I think she would for Leon, someone she cares about.
@@teehee3657 I'm hoping so! But in this DLC, she's alone talking only to herself (so no one to impress or put on airs for) and her voice is detached and not the least bit warm about him at all. It was that that surprised me, as it really did make it sound like she was only regarding him as a useful pawn, not someone she cares about or even is working with/toward any common goal (no affection, care, or concern beyond what works for her mission).

@@davidgomes4408 very intriguing insight! That is true, that when one is playing a role they will be diffr than when their real self. I just got a feeling her way with Luis was the most real she ever was. She spoke normally and even seemed playful at moments. She had no need to be his buddy.
In fact, when she had to get down to business, THAT was when she was back to stern, cold fish (like she was finally insistent on getting the amber NOW!).
Point being, when she could be real, she WAS real (like with Luis). When she was business-only, she was cold, calculated. And this is how she seemed to be with Leon and while regarding things with him.
Again, I don't think she lacks all feelings for Leon. It's just that her behavior in this DLC seemed to support him still being more of a "job" to her than true love.
Just wish Ada was consistent in both games, Leon was but Ada felt like two different people.
might be cuz of the change in VA, the new VA in RE4 just had very diff delivery of lines, there was a pretty big uproar about it i even felt bad for the new VA.

It wasn't just Lily's bad acting. She was much more of a normal person in RE2R. In RE4R, they both were a bit more video game hero/spy archetypes, but she esp seemed all femme fatale, sometimes acting as if they hardly even knew each other.

I just finished RE4 Remake and youtube recommended this video... bizarre to see RE2 Leon sounding so young, it's the same voice actor? The dude has some range. As for Ada, seems obvious her voice actress was someone else in RE2 (I will play this game eventually, not a big fan of survival horrors, jump scares and so on, but RE4 is arguably a top 3 game alltime for me). I am aware the fanbase dislike Ada's voice in RE4, but I think she performed a decent job, at least her voice is different and unique, every female VA in the industry sounds like Laura Bailey, it's so annoying, Ada in RE2 is just like that, generic Laura Baileish... in RE4 she sounds unique for better or worse (for the better imo)

They wanted to make him look haggard, rough. They shy away from that with the "pretty" characters, and in turn, usually leave them looking more plastic, artificial.
I noticed that esp in earlier CGI with men vs women. In leaving women's skin more smooth and poreless, they looked like dolls. Men's little skin bumps and wrinkles not only made them look more rugged but more REAL.
They're getting better about that, but even with these remakes, esp RE4R for some reason, Ada sometimes almost shone like plastic.
In RER2 they did a better job with animations and facial emotions.
