- In this video, I will cover how to get the Skyrim Creation Kit to load up any of the Skyrim DLCs so that you can mod them. This tutorial will also allow you to load all of the DLCs at the same time to take full advantage of all of the resources.

This file is called CreationKit now, if anyone's recently downloaded Creation Kit from Steam and is having trouble finding it. The SResourceArchiveLists have different stuff after them now, but adding the same DLC text afterwards still 100% works.
3 years later and getting dlc to work is hard for new people. thanks for video
When you make a video about cutting and pasting, it's REALLY HANDY to put the entries in the description so people can, you know, cut and paste.

I know it is very late, but i figured something out when i had the problems where my CK was still crashing at 99%
For those people which don't play the game in english: in the folder where your CK is located, there is a txt-file called "Editor Warnings". When your editor is crashing, open this txt-file and take a look what is causing the crash.
For me it was an error like this: "MASTERFILE: LOCALIZATION: Lookup failed for ID: 0x00012584 from strings file: STRINGS/Skyrim_ENGLISH.DLSTRINGS"
It was because i have the game in german, so there where no "english strings" just "Skyrim_GERMAN.DLSTRINGS" - i made copies of these "german"-strings and renamed the copies. I kept all the strings, the "english"- strings and the german ones and its finally working for me.
I have the same kind of problem with my game (in French), I added sLanguage=FRENCH on the first line before bAllowMultiple... and it worked

Aloha mate, I got a slightly different question on a related subject and maybe you can help me. So you said in your video 'usually you select the skyrim.esm and the mod you work with'. I want to work on a mod but I cant find them when I click on data. I only get the skyrim.esm and DLCs as well as the high res patches. Now I believe the reason for this is that I install my mods via mod organizer and I don't have mod organizer installed in my skyrim folder. So I need to tell the Creation Kit here to find my mods. And this is my question, how do I do it? How can I tell the kit where to find my mods and at the files/plugins to the list so I can edit them?

If someone makes a request for a DLC version, copy the esp and name it slightly different. You then want to load up your new esp file with the DLC(s) attached and save. You will then need to upload the new esp as a new mod, as not to slap a requirement for DLC on your original. Some people using your current mod may not have the DLC and you could upset some people 8(. You would now have two versions of your mod though and would have to edit both separately for any updates to them.

at the SResourceArchiveList=Skyrim - I had to type in Update.bsa aswell as dawnguard and dragonborn. Just thought i'd let you know, since you only said dawnguard and dragonborn (tho you did point out you didnt remember)

I didn't have Updata.bsa at the end of my default SResourceArchiveList, so I just added it in. Is that okay?
And there's no SkyrimEditor..
:) hey, all of my mods are made for skyrim sans dlc's. does that mean they will work for dlc's, too? i assumed that they would, but just had a request for one of my mods to be made for dlc.
Hi! I did everything you said, but my kit still crashes :/ i have all three DLCs and i wrote everything as you said and checked multiple times...I have no idea what's wrong but i keep crashing

Does this work with newer updates? My file is names SkyrimEditorPrefs, and I dont't have any [Archive] at all :/
+Em Sodastream It should be there and should work fine. Be sure you're editing the correct ini file.
+Darkfox127 I had to install Skyrim on another computer to make it work. I think there are some corrupt files on my stationary wich makes the SkyrimEditor and other several important files being deleted. Now on another computer, I can FINALLY make it work again. Thank you.
+Sodastream87 Should work fine. Make sure the CK has been loaded at least once. No reason why you shouldn't have the editor ini in there. You can always download the ini from my website's resources page and then place it into your Skyrim main folder.
If others have done quest tutorials better than I understand them, it's a pointless endeavour. Like I said, I don't actually create quests. 8)

Thank you, so far so good. But it looks daunting. Let's see if I manage to change the name of a door (interior cell, I guess) from Fort Greymoor to spanish. It would be "Prisión de Fuerte de Páramo Gris" instead of "Prison of Fort Greymoor". I want to make that change (don't know which mod is doing the change) and to put it in this .esp (in the spanish translation): www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6481
