I was slaying em yesterday with an arrow dodger and hoochie on one rod and a kastmaster by itself on my other rod. Number of strikes was equal but the ones caught with the hoochie were all making it to the net but not so much with the kastmaster. All trophy size. Thanks for the video

I used to catch a ton of trout on willow leaf + tiny spin 'n glow when going for kokanee.

Interesting observations about speed. I typically catch all of my Rainbows between .8 and 1.2MPH here in VT; the Browns that I catch are typically 1.5-2MPH. Thanks for the tips on dodgers.

I was having a somewhat slow day a couple weeks ago on a local lake here in western WA. Since it was slow I decided to experiment and put an 8” pro troll 360 flasher on with a 3” pink hoochie and a smile blade in front of it. Also bumped up the speed to just below 2mph.
I figured maybe I could attract some bigger fish and if nothing else, say I tried it for kicks.
Ended up being the hot combo of the day, steady bites from the time I dropped it in till I left. Didn’t scare off the smaller fish at all. I was pretty surprised.

Last weekend I was on a local lake using dodgers and wedding rings targeting rainbows. It was kind of slow so I took off a dodger on one pole and added a macs flashlight and it was like someone flipped a switch, I immediately started getting steady hits and saw something I’ve never seen before. 2-3 times I saw fish jumping behind the boat at about the location of the flasher. It must have either really made them feel aggressive or scared them enough to cause them to leave the water. Ended up catching a bunch on that rig.

Over 25 trips to Dexter the last 3 years 'twitching spoons' for trout, pikeminnow. Only stumbled into 2 nice walleye (18", 26"). Fat triploid trout stocked at creel size, but often have scars, wounds from walleye, otter, osprey, bald eagle, etc. Very few pikeminnow caught in winter. Personal record 74 pikeminnow one day in October (60 degree F water). Chinook with a death wish were a big reason to change to smaller single point hooks.

Have to ran trials on treble hooks for jigging? Thoughts on Jackson Knarr and BlueSky boatworks 360 angler kayaks?

No ive not run treble hook trials. I am not a fan of the fusion drive they use on the Jackson and Bluesky boats. Not very reliable from what I hear. Both the Knarr and the Bluesky boats are too big, heavy, and slow and are of not much interest to me

Have you had issues running gear that is heavier than the rating on the rod? Ex. I have a 7.5’ lamiglas tournament Kokanee (new, birthday gift from the wife) which is rated for 4-8lb line (I have 15) and 1/8-1/4 oz. lures. I usually use a 4.25” dodger with a hoochie and a small weight to keep it all submerged. That generally comes out to about an ounce worth of terminal tackle. Is that an issue for the rod?

No it won't be an issue for that rod.

When you do catch pike minnow, especially in Washington, do you dispatch them?

Looks like Dexter Lake in Oregon. Is that right?

Cool. Have you fished for walleye in Lookout Point Reservoir?

Yup tried 3 times now with nothing. I've talked around 20 boats or so over those three days and only 1 had 1 fish. I don't think its a very good walleye fishery.

@@spiltmilt you ever come to central Oregon?

Where in the Oregon regulations does it say fish caught with bait count towards your limit? I know you’ve said that about WA before, but I’ve never heard of or read that it’s true in Oregon
