Same here. Freshman year we played it for marching as a stand tune, then we played it for our retiring superintendent for jazz band. It will always been in high regard forever
It is fun. My main instrument is the clarinet but I love tapping on my laptop with my fingers to the snare drum beats. And I have to say this part is fun
We played this last year in our Motown show. Except for we cut out half the song because we combined it with Papa Was a Rolling Stone and did a little dance routine to a percussion break during this song. It was a truck load of fun, and I loved playing it on my clarinet!
I had the same songs along with brick house my sophomore year. I hate it when the arrangements are split or combined. It doesn't sound right to me because it's done randomly a lot with no good transition.
I'm a 1st flute player. My band this year is playing this in our show. Our show is a love theme and it goes from being in love to breaking up to wanting the person back. I'm so excited to play this because I love the actual song and this music so much. :)
ill never forget this as the opener of the motown show we did my second year (followed by you cant keep me hanging on, my girl and the closer was superstition, literally sooooo much fun)
unfortunately i missed my first and only football halftime show starring this song, but honestly, learning how to play it with my band was super fun, and i’d love to play this on my trumpet again
My son played this in school. He plays the Trumpet. I remember when he played it at football games & at parades. In the fall he goes to L.S.U. ( his Mom - New Orleans)
We’re playing this at our Motown show this season along with my girl by the temptations and respect by Aretha Franklin and I can’t wait but it is difficult for me because I’m in seventh it’s still going to be so much fun playing this year
Marquis Henderson our band played this last year, and I was the only trombone.....so lonely that year, and this year there 5 trombones including me. Imagine a single veteran trombone player teaching 4 trombone rookies....
My marching band is playing this as our opener for our "Tribute to boy bands" show and we are on our third day of band camp and we got this on the field while playing it and we’re working on I Want it That Way
Amazing! thanks for the recorded song and lyrics if you could do this for trumpet 2 only that would be amazing! since my class is playing this song. THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH!!!!!!!!
I moved this year, and my new school doesn't have this as a pep tune :/ Nostalgia I almost cried I'm ashamed to admit Actually wait no its good to miss your old band
AwesomeCornSauce Last year this was my bands theme, and I'm in color guard, during the drum break the entire band did a dance that included disco dance moves, it was rad.
I just switched to trumpet from trombone. This song is so much fun but alittle to complicated for my second day of trumpet but I'm getting somewhere finally
I love this piece i played it sense last year. I’m marching bass but my freshman is playing it wrong and they should know it by now parade in few days idk what to do for them. The had longer than a month to practice it and don’t know it correctly it’s a little concerning. Im a junior in high school. I’m thinking to show them this video because of when they play there are other instruments playing it mostly. I’m 3rd bassd drum only because I can’t lift the big one which is super heavy. Weak back I have. Any advice?
I noticed, I can probably play multiple instruments, I know some drum so drum line I can kinda do, I know clarinet and they said once you know clarinet trumpet is almost like it
We're playing this in our Renegade Regiment, it's a nice song but gets a little annoying after a while, lol! But it's cool because I have this piece memorized ;)
I’ve never heard the actual song and I don’t plan on it because this is so good Also tell me this doesn’t sound like a Pokémon song on the ds go on I’m waiting

i love when directors and majors get creative and do special combinations like that
I had the same songs along with brick house my sophomore year. I hate it when the arrangements are split or combined. It doesn't sound right to me because it's done randomly a lot with no good transition.
