What do you guys think? In decent light, they’re pretty damn close to me, but then the A7C can also do professional quality photos! Did this clear things up for you guys?
1. Bigger grip (for those FF lenses) 2. An extra memory card slot. (for work purposes) 3. More custom buttons. (I understand that these were missing but c'mon the A6600 has more buttons than this.) Needs these 3 in this order of priority. The A7riii just needs a flip screen (a wide lens or monitor will do it) & to flatten out that optical viewfinder flush(er) with the rest of the body. That being said, while I'm looking to buy the A7iv, an A7Cii with at least items 1 & 2 would actually be better for me, since I like the rangefinder form-factor... which is probably why Sony won't do it.
@@hiufgterde The a7 III would be identical to the a7 III for photo and video quality. Same sensor. The a7 III has a different body style, which also gives it the advantage of dual card slots.
I must have watched 50 videos on these two and I’m still having a hard time deciding. I shoot video primarily and am a stickler for details, the A7SIII was showing some smooth buttery golden hour highlights in these shots. Not sure if it was the camera settings or lenses but I’d have to say that A7SIII is looking pretty sweet!
Both are incredible cameras for photo and video! The A7C is basically just higher megapixels. If you're shooting for anything where an 8x10 print is about the largest that you need to make, then the A7Siii is perfect and is for sure a much better video camera, especially in low light! If you're debating these two, the only reason to go A7C is price and if you need more megapixels👍
If you can only have one, 4k video is your thing, and you can afford it, the A7S3 is the one to get - if for no other reason than that in the high-temp mode setting, and it doesn't really ever overheat under any reasonable conditions a human operator would be in. You can shoot for hours in relatively hot conditions. The A7C has the advantage of being smaller, but it's limited to 30FPS video, 8-bit color, and requires that high-temp setting to have a chance at being able to finish a moderately long video without overheating. It's a great gimbal camera, really nice for handheld if your use-case supports that, and better for photos/hybrid use. I have both of them, and I'm happy with my setup, but I would probably be more concerned about the potential heat issue for the A7C, if it overheating meant I was left with no footage at all. Losing the B-cam, which my A7C typically serves as, is unfortunate but not at the same level of loss.
X-T4 has 10-bit 4K60 at less than A7C. Plus, Fuji has actually usable colour profiles if you don't want to post process the flat profile. The only downside is that Fuji only has 3 and a half great non-cine lenses for video (16mm f1.4, 18mm f1.4 and the kit lens - and kiiiinda the 35mm F2)
@@DarcersTech What overheats? The only camera I know of of Fujifilm's that has any history of overheating is the X-T3. The X-T4 and X-S10 can record indefinitely (as long as you use external recorder, because of the 29;59 clip limit)
I was getting sucked into the glamour of the A7S but you brought me back to reality with the video vs. photography graph, as the A7C fits my style (and budget) so much more. Thanks brother
I was completely agreeing with you until the BS about 12mp not being enough for photography. Photography wise i'd take a camera with high DR and amazing low abilities over any hires camera. 12mp is more enough for professional work and was delivering shots done on a fuji xt 1 till around 3-4 years ago and if is wasn't for the autofocus id still be using it! I much preferred the colour and rendition of that sensor and it was much cleaner allowing for clearer blow-ups of pictures. Not once did i find that it wasn't enough and not once did a client tell me it wasn't enough. 12mp is not just for insta! heck, If thought that way 1mp would be enough for that. That's some biggest load of poop I've heard come out of somebodies mouth. This camera is the perfect choice for event photography that I've ever come across, concert pit photography would be awesome with it. Id happily shot a wedding on this up until recently people where and probably still are (see plenty of canon 5d mk2's being used along with nikon d3's and 4's). The difference between 24 and 12mp are largely academic especially when that said 24mp camera has an aliasing filter and the 12mp doesn't. Stick great glass in front and what you go. It also has the best autofocus currently out all of them bar the A9. For the family man that wants to grab family video then grab some shots like you showed in the vid this camera would be perfect, don't know who would but you could easily get a 75cm (30inch) done of those said family shots. More than "professional" enough, we've just been spoilt.
You getting wrong low-light capabilities. 24Mpx and 12Mpx may have the same low-light and DR. Because sensor size is the same, and the amount of light they gether is the same, so if you will make both images the same size the noise and DR will be the same. Turn 24Mpx to 12Mpx and you see no differense (almost none) in noise and DR. That is how DxOMarks mesures DR - turning images to same 8 MPx.
Just took a bunch of pictures of my beautiful granddaughters. Do you know where I can get the film developed? Seems to be tough for some of us old folks. LOL Love you - Pops
I think that in video the only advantage of the a7C (only but important tho) is the fact that you can shoot 4K with the clear image zoom and APS-C mode. It's like having best of both worlds, you can use FF glass on one hand and on the other use some beautuful s35 glass like sigma 18-35 or the sirui anamorphics
The A7SIII does better with smaller details like leaves or flowers on plants. Faces also look more defined in the closer up shots too. There's more contrast. I'm looking to upgrade my camera this year and I was trying to justify whether I want to spend almost 2x the money on an A7SIII. The higher quality slow-mo is something I can see myself using too, so I'm edging towards the A7SIII.
If you pay attention to the smaller details and how well each camera keeps the minute aspects more crisp and clean, you would have always said the left side looked better (Also a better but of contrast). But the A7C is so close!
First of all, LOVING the graphics! About the cameras, I am waiting for A7 IV - guess that will be a bit better for video + having the benefits of the bigger body, etc
Placed an order last week for the a7c for vlogging and bts video of photoshoots. I mainly do food photography on an a73 and wanted a continuous video capture of the process.
You are totally right. Very good review. I just bought the a7c. It is fantastic. Very good flip screen. And surprising i like the evf, far bigger than old Canon camcorder. I bought it with Tamron 17-28 f2.8 and the duo is impressive. The photo are really professional quality. I am an ex developer so i had no issue with the Sony menu. I found it easy to find what i needed. And the function button give us the shortcut. The menu button could have been closer to the pad, but i like everything. It is clean, i like there is less button, it is more simple. I have the aperture dial, it is easy to pick the iso. The autofocus is impressive. I have done 60 photos today and they are all incredible. Even difficult picture to focus was perfectly focus. Sony has a winner. I would not want a more heavier camera. My kit is 930g total with the tamron 17-28. I should receive the azden smx30 (stereo/mono) tomorrow. I compare the photo between a7c with a7s3 and the a7c is the best for the photo that are more detailed. It retains the fine textures. The a7siii have not good enough resolution. And the a7c is 50% less expensive. I have the a7c, the lens, the microphone and the charger, and sd card for the same price. And the a7sIII is much more heavier. I made the right choice.
The A7S3 is a better video camera for several reasons. It can do 4k@120 for slo-mo, it records with 10-bit color, it doesn't overheat as easily. It also has a better viewfinder, and 2 memory slots - including support for CF-Express Type A, which is needed for 4k@60 or 120. It can also handle very low light conditions - nearly dark - better than virtually any other camera on the market today. But the A7S3 is also bigger and twice as expensive. The pros for the A7C are that it's smaller/lighter, cheaper, and a better hybrid camera with a 24MP photo resolution compared to the A7S3's 12MP. If your needs don't exceed what the A7C has to offer - you don't shoot in the dark, you don't shoot for extended periods in hot environments, you don't need 4k slo-mo, you don't use the viewfinder, you're not big on custom keys - only the 10-bit vs. 8-bit color will really factor into the video you're taking, and even then it won't matter that much unless you shoot in S-Log and color-grade. I'm not saying all this as a knock on the A7C. If you're planning to shoot 4K 24 or 30 fps video only, in normal lighting conditions, set the temp limit to high, and have a reasonable ambient temperature and/or shooting duration, the A7C is going to produce pretty similar results to the A7S3, as the video shows. The A7S3 is more flexible and can definitely do more, but it's not going to produce clearly superior video in average conditions. I actually own both, and use the A7C primarily as a gimbal/B-cam. My A7S3, which I primarily use handheld, has the 12-24 2.8 G-Master lens more or less permanently attached, while for the A7C, I have a few different lens options including the 20MM 1.8 G, the 28-60mm kit lens, a 12mm fisheye, an ultrawide 9mm rectilinear Laowa, and I also have the 14mm 1.8 GM on order when it comes out next month. Why so wide you might ask? Because normally when I'm filming, my subject is at most 2-3 ft away. If I have a wide enough lens, I can capture everything, and potentially do some clipping in post. If I don't have a wide enough lens - well, there's not much to be done with that.
I snagged the a7c on launch as my work horse. Now I'm looking for a second camera for another angle in the kitchen and I'm thinking about just getting another a7c due to price.
If you can go for another A7C by all means, but would highly recommend getting a ZV-1 as a second angle for a fraction of its price. It’s size and extreme portability can help with vlogging, tight shots, all with surprisingly good quality that can fit in your pocket!
Hi there, nice review! I am thinking to buy it as a backup cam for A7Siii, mainly in order to take a larger stills. What do you think about the picture quality compare to A7Siii ? Thanks in advance!
Picture quality in good light is almost identical! When in Slog2, it's crazy how close these cameras look to each other. Again though, in good light! When the light dims, the A7Siii takes the lead by a mile👍
It depends on if the client has requirement for the resolution. Many actually do not have. Some may say min 4000px on long end. Then 12mp is pass. But if they want 6000px on long end, then you need 24mp. As for print, it is not as a big issue as we think. Back the day, people use nikon d700 that is 12mp and 5d mark one that is 10mp. And those wedding studio still be able to print them very big. So I do not think if you are a wedding photographer, you need worry about 12mp. Social media. That is overkill even if 12mp. You only need 2mp camera for social media.
Great video man. I’ve been dancing around the idea of the A7Siii for a few weeks for the video capabilities, but didn’t appreciate it was actually kinda far behind the A7iii for the photography. I love the A7iii, just wish it had the flip out screen. Maybe the A7C is worth a look for the video side... keep it up.
Totally! For what you're creating, I would say stick with the A7iii for now. The A7Siii might also mean a new computer to be able to chew through the larger files. The A7C might be the move for you though if you want that flippy screen. Now that I have the flippy screen, I for sure won't be vlogging without it! BUT, again the A7iv is rumored to be coming this year. The only thing that gives me pause on pulling the trigger on the A7C!
Great video and great question! Since I'm more of a hobbyist than professional, a camera that's decent at both photos and videos is more valuable to me than one which is superior in one respect and falls (relatively) flat in another. Overall though, the situation and form factor determine what camera I use. If I need to be mobile, then I'd use a compact point and shoot like the RX100. If I'm doing action/sports, then either an action or 360 cam (depending on water being involved). If it's a gathering like a convention or house event, I'll use an ILC. However, if the situation warrants and I needed two bodies like an A7S and A7R, then I'd rather have both bodies be compatible with the same lenses and accessories so as to minimize what I carry around.
I'm in the exact same boat as you! I think two cameras makes the most sense, having one that's top quality video and one that's top quality photo. Then, for those run and gun times, I'm actually using the ZV-1 and loving that thing! For sure different tools for different things👍
I've preferred to buy used A7SII for 3/4 price of new A7C for low-light self- video shooting. But then Ive started to take photos as well and now I'm looking at A7C again
Where was this video two months ago when I was wrestling with what to buy!? I ultimately came to the exact same conclusion, which is why I am the proud owner of an A7C. As someone who is still learning with every video, I have to say that this camera is just what I needed, and as a tiny human it is TOTAL PERFECTION when paired with the Tamron 17-28 for vlogging. Seriously, thanks for this video. I think you're going to help a lot of people just like me save a TON of money to put towards other gear that's arguably as important if not moreso.
David . It’s been so hard watching everyone play with their S7sIII . I still don’t have mine . Sony , is supposed to fill 75% of pre orders by February. I’m 22nd in line and I hope I’m a part of that 75% ! Sony really screwed up ! One day my channel will be big enough to have a voice like you do . Keep up the great work . ✌🏼
Hello, I had a Sony A7II and connected a dummy battery to a NP-F990 for video recording. My question is: for Sony A7C and Sony A7IV can I only operate the camera with USB type C without a dummy battery? If feasible please provide link to product. I tried it but it doesn't work, the settings on the camera are also set to USB-ON. Thanks so much
Great video... just wondering how did you match so close the colors for each camera.... profil PP or creative style ? Can you give more details about it. Thx 🙏
Just got my Sony A7C and Sigma 24-70 and absolutely love it. So many people complaining about all the small things but I think the A7C is so dope. The only thing I'd really bash on is the grip and weird location of the menu button.
Can you make a video are you best or top picks on a hybrid camera for vlogging or traveling? I see alot of channels pick the sony zv1 is best but i prefer your opinion.
This is the video that I really needed to see and as always you've come up with the goods. The A7SIII is the camera that I've been saving up for but this has now changed after seeing your video. Thanks David this is why you're my favourite TH-camr when it comes to this subject matter! May your channel continue the success that is deserves.
I love this video. You should get the A7C for photos and second camera angles. Plus travel when you need something compact! I've been using it since it came out and it's really great for capturing high quality family memories :)
I’m on the A7III, BUT I recently experienced the dreaded microphone input problem and took it to the repair shop, they say it will be back in at least 10 weeks! Crazy, what to do? Get the A7SIII and use the A7III as B-camera and sell it when the A7IV finally shows up? Get the A7SIII and the A7RIII/RIV and sell the A7III, since I’m into video AND photos, well, there’s plenty of options... I’ve been quite on the fence about carrying around two cameras when I go travelling , but since you mentioned it wasn’t such a big deal, I’ve started to think about it. Do you have a video where you talk about that experience?
I briefly considered the A7C or A7iii to upgrade from apsc (which I mostly use with the 16-55 2.8). The viewfinder of the A7c is really small and low quality, even less buttons than Sony A6x00 cameras. I looked at and got the Nikon z5 with 24-200. Super fun to use. Amazing viewfinder and ergonomics, better image stabilization, better colors from raw files in Lightroom. Refreshing. Sony has better lock on AF, but there is something organic about shooting with Nikon. Framing in that large viewfinder of focusing manually with vintage lenses is really easy. The 24-200 and the 24-70 f4 (used mint, less thanhalf price) are great lenses. I am keeping the Sonys for jobs, but for personal everyday stuff I am happy with the Nikon. A7iii with 24-105 would have been quite more expensive than Nikon z5 and the 2 great lenses I got.
I am on the fence, the only thing keeping me on the fence is that I sometimes do client work LOL......I would already have it again if Sony would just add the EDU back to the a7siii lol
It's a tough choice with all the Sony cameras lately! They're making a ton of camera bodies and they're all super specific now. They're making a different camera for each use case instead of one camera that can do it all
I settled with A7C after trading in my a6400 & XT3 with lenses. And the best decision I made, I came away with the A7C w/Sony 20mm 1.8G. The A7S3 is overkill for my needs, especially since this was a studio only setup. 👍
This is the big realisation I've had as an a7iii user. I doubt anyone would notice that I'd bought a new camera if I sent them a video with an A7siii after having seen my a7iii footage. For me personally, I'm considering renting higher end gear for specific jobs and then using my a7iii as a 'everyday' camera. Which would also justify using much better cameras like Red Komodo or FX6 instead. The only thing that gets me is slightly annoying colours on my a7iii. Sometimes if someone has a reddish face it will get out of control on the a7iii where other people looked fine in the same interview setups etc. Just seems crazy to buy the same "look" for £3800 (which is weirdly the price in Britain at the moment).
My question is more based on my needs. I have all the action cameras I’ll ever need. But I need to upgrade my Sony Nex-6 to something more recent. Would A7C be too much for portrait/Family & some landscape photography ? I want something with quality optics without going overboard. Also been looking at the A7iii but I like the portability of A7C.
Hmmm... Really tough choice. Both cameras are fine, but kinda specialized. That's why I am gonna wait for the Sony A7IV. I do more videos, but as someone who does this as a hobby, the price tag of the A7S III is too high for me. The Sony A7C might not be such a big jump for my Canon M50 with good primes.
I currently have the A6500. I'm going to upgrade to the 7C and then hopefully get the IV next year if it's announced anytime soon. The 6500 will be my primary photo camera with the C being mainly for video.
ACTUALLY, I use my A7C only for video when I use my A9 only for photo lol Yeah, i totally agree with you that it's nice to have each different cameras for photo and video. also that mean is that A7C is really satisfy me in Video quality that I was really surprised for how it looks pretty dang good !!
It is obvious the A7siii has a better more crisp quality not even mentioning as a owner of both A7iii and A7sIii the 1080p of the A7iii and A7C is pretty bad so if you have the budget is always a better to get the A7Siii. The A7C is super cute but frankly if you need to get a compact camera I still prefer the A6000 or A6400 for taking out on vacation or blogs there is no need for a full frame that doesn’t even shoot 1080p videos nicely and undress you don’t have a good pc you won’t be able to edit 4K anyway from the higher end models
If the a7C had dual card slots, I would be OK with it. But that is a big letdown for a camera that could end up doing wedding photography. Get a used a7 III instead, probably for less money, and you will have that backup. I think vlogging with full frame is kind of silly.
I watched your video on sharp 4K so I was able see the difference between both camera but if we watch same comparisons on phone we can’t see the difference
Keep up the good work. been torn between zv1 and a6100. wanting to shoot offroad pictures and video but can not see which one would be the better investment. love the compact of zv1 but not sure if it would come up short in any way. any suggestive help?
I'm a huge fan on the ZV-1 and I think it could work really well, but that's a super hard choice. Any idea if you're leaning more towards photo or video?
what are you thoughts on A6600 vs A7C for specifically live streaming and video? I watched one of your differences video, really enjoyed it. price is not an issue - able to get A7C or A6600 at the same cost.
I only shoot hybrid for social - if the A7S3 had a 1080 version that was cheaper and you could pay for the 4K with a firmware update Id have got one in a heartbeat.
Also, the sensor is not the only factor! My computer cant even handle 4k 24fps footage from a7c without Proxies.... And I thought I was getting a mighty laptop just a year ago lol So Imagine the disaster it would be if i had to handle a7Siii files on it 😭
I just commented that above and I wish I would have mentioned that in the video. The A7Siii is a monster video camera, but it also puts out monster files, which means even on my fully tricked out Mac, I still need to work with proxies to edit. Absolutely a factor to keep in mind!
I watched this video hoping I made the "right" choice. My a7SIII will finally be here on Wednesday. I care mostly about video, and less so about photos. I shoot at night and low light a LOT and want the best image quality in tricky lighting. love the drawings, the (not to scale) was my favorite part. It's going to be one hell of an upgrade from a Canon 70D!
My friend, I kinda agree I many points but disagree too 🤣. My point is simple, indeed the quality of both videos are THE SAME at 24fps (S3 vs 7C) BUT in my case the A7S3 is irreplaceable just because I shoot so much of my wedding videos at 4K 120, it’s just amazing and the 7C just can’t do it... it’s not worse, it just can’t do it... so it is automatically eliminated from analysis. In the photo side, 12MP is “worst” (gorgeous photos) but it CAN take photos, in fact I shoot a lot of weddings at 12MP and it’s not an issue at all... u get my point?. Great video by the way !!! 20 REASONS A7C IS IMPORTANT: 1. crammed prior Sony tech into this smaller body 2. smallest FF camera on the market 3. weights only 1 lb. 4. full inputs/ports 5. battery FZ-100 from A7III 6. micro-HDMI port 7. single card slot 8. mic and headphone jack 9. A7III screen but flippy 10. better port doors 11. weather resistant 12. easy to use Fn button 13. 7 steps of AF transition speeds 14. 5 steps of AF responsiveness 15. eye-detection in video 16. one of Sony's best AF cameras 17. same 24mp still images/video as the A7III 18. almost same IBIS as A7III 19. better skin tones 20. good value
Actually. In most cases. The a7iii does low light just as well. Also smaller noise artefacts. . It’s only the frame rate that has advanced. Also the 10 bit. A7iii is sharper even in video. 6k downsampled sensor.
Haha! I know that seems odd, but it's not. Heck, my iPhone can do 4K at 60 fps too, but it's wildly different quality/bit rate. On a full frame camera, 4K 60 is a lot to ask of a processor
Love your channel!! So where do I find the camera that’s right in between these 2, lol. I need one that takes Great Photos & one that does Really Good Videos in low light 🤷🏻♀️🤔 I video wildlife in low light. I’m using a Canon 7D Mark ii right now for photos. & I’m definitely Ready to Upgrade. Use my GoPro 7 a lot for my TH-cam videos on my channel. Ready to upgrade that, it’s just barely close to a year old.
Honestly, the A7C or A7iii is probably the way to go for you! They're both really good in low light, the A7Siii is just on another level. The thing can basically see in the dark!
@@DavidManningvlog Thank You So Much. I Really Appreciate Your Help & Your Channel! 👍🏻 Planning on doing my upgrade in the next few months. Only thing, I’d have All these Canon Lenses 🤔
Hey David great to see you again. Hope you had a great Christmas and just wanted to wish you a very Happy New year and may 2021 bring you much success, joy and happiness. Stay safe and catch up again real soon bro.
I can't even begin to tell you how helpful this video was. THANK YOU! I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on the A7C, but I recently heard a rumor about them coming out with the A7 IV. Not sure if I should wait to see what that ends up looking like. Such a good problem to have!
The problem with you guys is you are comparing different cameras with built with different hardware to perform in different situations... try to grade them when shot in low light then we can address which is which. stop trying to fool people. A7s3 has different advantage! Dont take generic situations and compare. push both to extremes and then we will see~!
Can the a7c shoot raw,or pro res raw internally..I doubt it,if u dont want to do too much in post with the colours etc, then the a7c will be good,I personally love the flexibility having to shoot raw gives which is why I am planning on getting the Bmpcc6k soon...excellent review non the less.
So if we follow what you say the futur a7iv will be very bad with 30-32mp sensor. In one year they cannot resolve what they could not in the a7s3 with only 12mp. So a7c is better overal than a7s3 and will still be better than a7iv
What do you guys think? In decent light, they’re pretty damn close to me, but then the A7C can also do professional quality photos! Did this clear things up for you guys?
1. Bigger grip (for those FF lenses)
2. An extra memory card slot. (for work purposes)
3. More custom buttons. (I understand that these were missing but c'mon the A6600 has more buttons than this.)
Needs these 3 in this order of priority. The A7riii just needs a flip screen (a wide lens or monitor will do it) & to flatten out that optical viewfinder flush(er) with the rest of the body.
That being said, while I'm looking to buy the A7iv, an A7Cii with at least items 1 & 2 would actually be better for me, since I like the rangefinder form-factor... which is probably why Sony won't do it.
i liked the graphs, how would the a7iii fit in there?
@@hiufgterde The a7 III would be identical to the a7 III for photo and video quality. Same sensor. The a7 III has a different body style, which also gives it the advantage of dual card slots.
Yes. Thanks
I'd still go with that A7Slowmo 4k at 120
I must have watched 50 videos on these two and I’m still having a hard time deciding.
If you're debating these two, the only reason to go A7C is price and if you need more megapixels👍
same 😫
@@DavidManningvlog aaand compactability *insert eyes emoji*
@@welcti I thought a7c already solve the heating problem?
The only thing I miss for video with the a7c is 4K 60. Really want that. Fingers crossed for a7 IV and no massive price jump.
@@Vinterloft But their lens selection is inconsistent with very few 3rd party lenses. And it overheats quite badly.
@@DarcersTech What overheats? The only camera I know of of Fujifilm's that has any history of overheating is the X-T3. The X-T4 and X-S10 can record indefinitely (as long as you use external recorder, because of the 29;59 clip limit)
@@Vinterloft jeah and fuji lens choises are ass and the colors look like its fucking toy story
I was getting sucked into the glamour of the A7S but you brought me back to reality with the video vs. photography graph, as the A7C fits my style (and budget) so much more. Thanks brother
I feel like the colors doesn’t look as vivid on the a7c but it can be easily fixed in post with some color grading
That's probably due to the color bit depth, since a7c only records 8-bit
This was one of the clearest video comparisons I've seen. Thank you.
Just took a bunch of pictures of my beautiful granddaughters. Do you know where I can get the film developed? Seems to be tough for some of us old folks. LOL Love you - Pops
Hahahaa! I'll find you a spot🤣
@@DavidManningvlog an admiring father being proud of his kid for creating an exceptional YT channel....that's nice to see.....
Very cute.
Totally agree Dylan! The A7Siii is for sure the better video camera, but I'm shocked how close it is!
Hope A7IV makes A7C and accessories flood market at lower prices. 🤷♂️
I need a new dive camera
Thanks for the video. Shame you didn’t do a low light comparison. Assuming you shot both with the same lens on both cameras? Which one? 35mm? Thanks
I made the right choice.
nice thought, you got me.
If I don't have a wide enough lens - well, there's not much to be done with that.
i love your commentary david and the weird little mannerisms!
Thanks Danny, I appreciate you watching man👊
I snagged the a7c on launch as my work horse.
Would have love to see the comparisons you talked about but I guess we'll take your word for it...
@@DavidManningvlog cool thanks! placing orders :)
Thank you this was very informative. I wanted a camera that could split the difference in photo and video quality.
As new to this game, you have enabled me to understand the difference with these cameras - thanks
I've preferred to buy used A7SII for 3/4 price of new A7C for low-light self- video shooting. But then Ive started to take photos as well and now I'm looking at A7C again
Thanks Bro! Tell me which is better for video shooting, Sony A7S II or Sony A7C?
Thx 🙏
Love the video keep up the amazing work
Just got my Sony A7C and Sigma 24-70 and absolutely love it. So many people complaining about all the small things but I think the A7C is so dope. The only thing I'd really bash on is the grip and weird location of the menu button.
Indeed, that MENU button is hateful!!
@@haywoodgiles713 yeah it's annoying but everything else I love about it
I was stuck whether to upgrade lens or get a better body. I think I will keep m A7c now..!
Can you make a video are you best or top picks on a hybrid camera for vlogging or traveling? I see alot of channels pick the sony zv1 is best but i prefer your opinion.
Clear , i just wanna buy a7c , thanks this video help me so much
I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger on the A7S iii just yet! I just found out about the A7C!
I actually tell a huge difference with most of the footage, especially with the detail of the water and in the clothing of the subject.
4:36 what’s that voice you’re going for there? 😬 and why
Amazing explanation, thank you!!
Thank you so much, you made a very concise presentation answering all my questions about these cameras
Love hearing that! I appreciate you watching!!!
This is the review I've been looking for. Great explanation! Thanks
I think 12 mp full frame stills are overkill for social media.
That A7C is an INCREDIBLE camera! So stoked that you're loving it!
@@DavidManningvlog No regrets, nothing like having an FF sensor, solid AF, and fast glass. All makes for great looking videos.
Love your videos!!! New subscriber! Which is better in low light a7c or a7lll?
Great video! Your content has really helped motivate me to take the time to learn and practice instead of just having my camera sitting in a drawer
Great explanation
Did you end up getting the a7IV?
beautiful family and great explanation, thank you:)
If the a7C had dual card slots, I would be OK with it. But that is a big letdown for a camera that could end up doing wedding photography. Get a used a7 III instead, probably for less money, and you will have that backup.
I think vlogging with full frame is kind of silly.
Hi,I am going to buy my first camera should I go for a7m3 or a7C for professional photography videography cinematography and vlogging.
Do you have a video of your lighting setup?
Not yet, but I'll have a studio tour coming soon and it'll be in there👍

Why use images of 1080p upscaled to 4k for comparison if the camera can deliver 4k?
Keep up the good work. been torn between zv1 and a6100. wanting to shoot offroad pictures and video but can not see which one would be the better investment. love the compact of zv1 but not sure if it would come up short in any way. any suggestive help?
I'm a huge fan on the ZV-1 and I think it could work really well, but that's a super hard choice. Any idea if you're leaning more towards photo or video?
@@DavidManningvlog im leaning more towards photo.
The orange graph looks dominant and decided for me to go for A7C cause I'm not an expert video and photographer.
Hey David, what camera did you use for this video?
what are you thoughts on A6600 vs A7C for specifically live streaming and video?
@@DavidManningvlog oh wow, and you got a good computer! Thats crazy!
I watched this video hoping I made the "right" choice. My a7SIII will finally be here on Wednesday. I care mostly about video, and less so about photos. I shoot at night and low light a LOT and want the best image quality in tricky lighting. love the drawings, the (not to scale) was my favorite part. It's going to be one hell of an upgrade from a Canon 70D!
thanks, you made this easy for the average joe
thanks. this helped me make my mind up
My friend, I kinda agree I many points but disagree too 🤣. New subscriber
A7Siii all day, you simply can't beat that video image quality! I'm also on a native 4k monitor for editing so it's easy to see the differences.
Good quality content bro.
20 REASONS A7C IS IMPORTANT:
1. crammed prior Sony tech into this smaller body
2. smallest FF camera on the market
3. weights only 1 lb.
4. full inputs/ports
5. battery FZ-100 from A7III
6. micro-HDMI port
7. single card slot
8. mic and headphone jack
9. A7III screen but flippy
10. better port doors
11. weather resistant
12. easy to use Fn button
13. 7 steps of AF transition speeds
14. 5 steps of AF responsiveness
15. eye-detection in video
16. one of Sony's best AF cameras
17. same 24mp still images/video as the A7III
18. almost same IBIS as A7III
19. better skin tones
20. good value
Actually. In most cases. The a7iii does low light just as well. Also smaller noise artefacts. . It’s only the frame rate that has advanced. Also the 10 bit. A7iii is sharper even in video. 6k downsampled sensor.
It’s the bar chart for me! lol
Hahaa! Solid drawing skills, eh?!
Nice realistic comparison 👌👌
So A7C doesn't do 4k60? I know where not talking about the same quality but my gopro 9 does 4k60. Kinda weird no?
Ready to upgrade that, it’s just barely close to a year old.
Honestly, the A7C or A7iii is probably the way to go for you! They're both really good in low light, the A7Siii is just on another level. The thing can basically see in the dark!

Really too bad the low light video wasn't included. Thats was one of the things I was MOST curious about
I can't even begin to tell you how helpful this video was.
Can you do a video on sony a6400 vs a6000 and which will be better for beginners please. Thank you.

Do you know when the GoPro hero 10 is coming out?
So if we follow what you say the futur a7iv will be very bad with 30-32mp sensor. In one year they cannot resolve what they could not in the a7s3 with only 12mp. So a7c is better overal than a7s3 and will still be better than a7iv
