    98 Camry. CEL for P0115 and upon inspection one of the wires on the ect plug looks a bit frayed. So I'm going to attempt to do a new connection like you did here with absolutely no electrical knowledge. Wish me luck and thank you for the video!

    I had a wire that had exposed insides touching the pipe the temperature sensor was screwed into. I think it might have damaged it. Its new but the gauge isn't reading well. Goes up little bit but drops all the way down when driving.

      I would make sure to repair the wire and fasten the wire in the wire holder if present or fasten the wire out of the way of heat and moving mechanism.

    Nice. What issues were you having in order for you to change the prong?? Did you replaced the sensor?? Thx

      @allanautollc3210  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No issues besides, I noticed it broke and the check engine light with code for the engine coolant temperature sensor. But I was also replacing a lot during this time

    Dose it matter if the wire's where turned around like if you put the black to yellow and black to tan wire or the other way around like what will happen if there not connected probably ??

    • @allanautollc3210
      @allanautollc3210  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Worse case a mini fuse will blow. I know the replacement wire harness repair kit usually has the same color on all the wires.
      Could use a multimeter to each wire from the vehicles harness to check which wire has power.

    Is it possible rewire a 2 pin connector in place of the the old 4 pin connector? Because I can only find a 2 pin temperature sensor. I can’t find a 4 pin temp sensor anywhere for my car. 1993 Chevy corsica. If you have any advice I’d greatly appreciate it. Thank you

    • @allanautollc3210
      @allanautollc3210  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Coolant temp / water temp sensor should be 2 wires
      Where did you unplug a 4 wire plug from a sensor ? On the upper or lower intake manifold or side of a cylinder head?

    • @CharlieSix
      @CharlieSix 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I followed the top radiator hose to the thermostat. It’s right behind the thermostat. 1993 Chevy Corsica 4cylinder

    hi iv got a similar problem but both my coloured wires snapped off right at the base of the connector . so i dont know which colour goes to which terminal . i thought of just taking pot luck and re connect but if its wired the wrong way can it affect the ecu

    I just got my car running after replacing both o2 sensors and my wires popped out of my connector .and killed my motor I replaced it now my car won't start again. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    • @allanautollc3210
      @allanautollc3210  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Replaced the O2 sensors again or Motor?
      If the engine is trying to start after the O2 sensor wires broke, the catalytic converter could be damaged/clogged.
      What's the year , make, model?

    • @allanautollc3210
      @allanautollc3210  ปีที่แล้ว

      Especially if it's a general motors oem catalytic converter from 90's to mid 2000's
      And if you used a torch near that catalytic converter to remove the O2 sensor.

    • @tammymarglon-desmet984
      @tammymarglon-desmet984 ปีที่แล้ว

      2003 malibu it started after I replaced them but then my sensor connector wires came out killed the engine. I didn't use a torch on my o2 sensors.

      @@tammymarglon-desmet984 ok, then maybe a fuse in the relay center or multiple fuses in the other relay center as well. Use a test light and pull to visually see the fuses. Check as many connectors and wires near engine where a harness fastener may have broke causing a wire(s) to get burned over time.

    The copper is glued to the plastic on mine, everytime I strip it the copper comes off with it

    • @allanautollc3210
      @allanautollc3210  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Very thin wiring. Its most likely doing that from years of heat near the engine.
      I would go farther away from the engine in the wiring and try and I would use those non strip style wire connectors. Just put the 2 ends in the connector and close it. I would still use electrical tape.

    What happens if you get the wires crossed mine was all the way off when I took it out and they’re different colors like that one

    • @allanautollc3210
      @allanautollc3210  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Big Big boom.
      Just kidding. If the wires get crossed. The fuse might blow but the coolant temp sensor won't work. Then you have to switch the wires.
      So if your not sure, temporarily connect them

      Find the circuit and Check the fuse or fuses for that and connector that the fuse is in and for power. That's where I would start
