I am a guitar player and I know what I love in playing a guitar but I have no idea how to build. I love watching you create.
Timed builds are good, but I really enjoy the full process. I'd probably watch a real time 500 hour build. Especially in moments like this where I just woke up and am not alert enough to head out into the woodshop for the day.
I agree!!! I'd prefer to watch 1000 hours and see and hear AND learn every single aspect of the build than to watch a time lapse only highlighting the main parts! I want to know every idea, every thought and every decision. I mean... you can speed through routing, bandsaw, sanding, but nothing else. The long detailed videos are entertaining AND educational. Time lapse videos are only entertaining... I crave the education!!!
The full process is the best, and honestly learning at normal speed during the process is just better. I'd love if the mistakes are not edited out either because that's part of learning. :-)
@@kjemradio I told Ben a long time ago that he should put out a blooper reel... Nobody is perfect and everybody makes mistakes... I sure Ben made quite a few... LOL I told him to save the clips to a certain folder an as soon as he has enough for a 10 to 20 minute video... produce it!!! He could put one out monthly, quarterly, etc. Of course it would depend on how many bloopers he makes and has. It doesn't have to be scheduled (weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.) It could be a random video once in a while! "Crimson Guitars Bloopers" I wish!!! And if... I couldn't wait!!! In fact, I'm going to use this thought to the main comment board for everyone to see!!! If ya'll see it, give it a like so it'll go to the top so Ben sees it!!! Thanks!!!
Welcome to the Man Cave world! My work shed 'aka guitar engineering centre', has just about enough space to work in, once I squeeze past the Honda VFR 750 just inside the door. I'm digging the lil' workshop. As for the twin neck...I think I would vote for a non-timed build. Seems like one that you would want to spend a lot of time on and not be rushed.

Definitely build it!! I would vote for a medium length series. People have plenty of time to watch the series right now and also gives you plenty of time to excel the quality of the guitar instead of building it under a time crunch. Good luck and stay safe.
24.30..build stuff to maintain sanity..these are golden words to hear..i have a workshop with half the space and half the tools..but then i work part time for a company that has larger tools and equipment that i can use occasionally as needed..

Use “Micarta” for the body of an electric guitar 🎸 With your advanced skills, I’m sure you could easily build a press and make the rough micarta blank from scratch. You would be able to use any combination of layered colors you choose, then cut out and custom shape it any way you please! Hope you and your family stay healthy during these difficult times!!

Looks cozy and most important of all there is a lot of natural light. I am thinking of building a (easily) movable workbench with some storage which I could take out as needed and build completely outside in the nature. Cows are the coolest!
essential tools for my workshop 1. coffee maker 2. mini fridge for my beer and ice tea 3, good sturdy work benches/tables with vices and holes for holdfast clamps 4, good sharpening stones/strops for keeping tools sharp 5. nice selection of chisels/gouges with mallet for handwork 6. drill press (pillar drill for you brits) 7. power saws (band saw, table saw, and a scroll saw like that marvelous Hegner in your studio shop) 8. good selection of hand planes 9. good selection of measuring/marking tools 10. air compressor for powering hand tools as well as applying finish to completed projects. 11, sanding stations to include oscillating drum sander/belt sander, a random orbital sander 12 dust collection (use saw dust to heat shop in winter) 13. separate climate controlled wood storage area to dry wood and keep it dry 14, a lathe 15, pressure pot for working with resin 16 good assortment of hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers etc. 17 hand drills both old fashioned manual for delicate work, and electric. 18 thicknesser/planer 19 a comfortable chair in a corner to rest in occasionally .

After moving home from uni due to Coronavirus I now have the time and resources to finally build a guitar mainly inspired by your channel. I've got a jigsaw, a router, a few rasps and a handheld sander and it's coming along nicely!
I just fell in love with your tiny workshop! And discovered we have nothing similar here on Brazil to be bought! So sad! As for the twin neck, it look amazing already. I would suggest to make both headless though! It would look more like a ship. But it is only my opinion, of course. As for a suggestion, I would like to see more videos of antique tools being restored. I just found an old spokeshave at my parent's house that belonged to my grandfather and started a restoration on it because of your videos. Also started making a guitar, which is much more complex! Thank you so much for the inspiration. Your videos and products are great.

I just received my crimson guitars stains and finishing oil to finish the chep guitar kit I'm building and modding to learn a bit more about guitar setup and building, so thanks to you guys for helping me do something nice during isolation :)
I've been watching and enjoying Crimson Guitars for about 5 months now and from the brief time I've been getting to know you through you channel, I'd say the one thing missing from your shed is a Coffee Machine! What's missing from my workspace is... a workspace and a correctly functioning set of eyes. I have dyslexia and amongst all the challenges that brings is my hand-eye coordination, which is mostly significant through its absence. I have a creative mind and can design mentally but as to bringing those ideas to physical forms, I have yet to find a medium, forgiving enough, to accommodate my shortcomings, but one never knows... Looking forward to the new build. I'm sure a subject like Star Wars is bound to be smooth sailing and controversy free!

Hello Ben. Here in the States we been in lock down for Four weeks and thanks for the videos. On your wood shop all I can see you need a Air System or a Dust vac.on the outside with inlet inside. You need to build that awesome design Guitar , to put it over the edge at the end of the guitar make exhaust cut outs with Red LED light come on when you play it loud. Please keep the videos coming. It sucks in home lock down and can’t see my Mother in Law that is in a Nursing Home. Peace Be With You and family Greg
Ben. I didn't see the inlay Jig that you would normally clamp into your vice. but DAMN that is my dream shed! Even when lockdown is over you would never get me out of it!

i know its not the shop at Crimson but taking it back to roots an putting a little reality of your life in this is Golden ...an please i dont want to come off as a troll but ben it seems to me its about time frame with builds lately an seeing you take your time an do things in the manner of luthiery you learned in school with hand tools is so inspiring to me rather than all the fancy shop tools ...just M.O.P....an love the star wars theme but it has to be the millenium falcon...lol..what ever you choose it will be great ..an the digressions when filming are good to keeps it real an the format is pretty good ....

You will need a compressed air supply, even to use just for cleaning, and a good vacuum cleaner.

Hi Ben, you are correct my own workshop is one wall in my bedroom. I have made a bed, workbench, tables etc. Alas no room for power tools. Regards Jim.

You’re going to need a Triton planer/thicknesser and a mini band saw for sure! Couldn’t survive this without mine. Hope you are all well and can’t wait for lockdown to end so I can come back and work at Crimson on fridays. Cheers, Kevan

Hello Ben. Here in the States we been in lock down for Four weeks and thanks for the videos. On your wood shop all I can see you need a Air System or a Dust vac.on the outside with inlet inside. You need to build that awesome design Guitar , to put it over the edge at the end of the guitar make exhaust cut outs with Red LED light come on when you play it loud. Please keep the videos coming. It sucks in home lock down and can’t see my Mother in Law that is in a Nursing Home. Peace Be With You and family Greg

Ben. I didn't see the inlay Jig that you would normally clamp into your vice. but DAMN that is my dream shed! Even when lockdown is over you would never get me out of it!

Use for each block of the body with an entire defrent type of wood, like purple heart and than ebony and maple and burl oak

i know its not the shop at Crimson but taking it back to roots an putting a little reality of your life in this is Golden ...an please i dont want to come off as a troll but ben it seems to me its about time frame with builds lately an seeing you take your time an do things in the manner of luthiery you learned in school with hand tools is so inspiring to me rather than all the fancy shop tools ...just M.O.P....an love the star wars theme but it has to be the millenium falcon...lol..what ever you choose it will be great ..an the digressions when filming are good to keeps it real an the format is pretty good ....
