Can we take a moment and appreciate that this is the 1980s... Someone had to hold a big-ass vhs camcorder to record this.
🐐🐐
DONT KNOCK THE 80S IT WAS THE BEST ERA FOR MUSIC, IN FACT MUSIC FROM THE 20S UP UNTIL THE MID 90'S WAS AWESOME AFTER THAT....IT TOOK A TURN FOR THE WORSE....DONT WATCH DUMBASS PADDED SHOUDER COMERCIALS AND THINK YOU HAVE A CLUE...THE CLUBS WERE FULL OF LONG LEGS HIGH HEELS AND SHORT SKIRTS, AND THATS BAD!!???
This was when bouncers or Roadies would come over and try to take your camera away.
By that point it was manageable..still, compared to todays phone recording...in the early 80s people still had to lug around 8mm cameras if they wanted to film something like this
lol…All the Carvin’s with the Car and s removed
Big hair. Big guitars. Big drums. Big amps. Banshee wailing vocals. Quality songs. Amazing players. Amazing playing. There will never be another decade like the eighties.
This band was Amazing ,
Dana Strum was a lunatic back then, the whole band was pretty freaking good..
Гм,интересно. А за сценой стоял Флейшман,или Slaughter на этой видеозаписи поет под фонограмму?
@@Стихира Neither. Fleishman sounded nothing like Slaughter. I saw this tour and then Slaughter the band. The guy could sing his ass off. And these vocals are different than the album.
...and thank god its moved on !
It's depressing that this band didn't become a mega-selling big name of the 80s. Slaughter's vocals are AMAZING and Vincent's guitar is outrageously entertaining. This is fucking amazing, pure 80s over the top exciting stuff!
Aris Alamanos the best
Good post, Aris.
They disbanded too fast and the grunge was taking over
Especially Animal. That song is amazing!
Mega selling?? Horrible bust your ears vocals and lead guitars as fast as u can play. No soul man

True hero
I will bet you they scared the hell out of many big named bands
Just came arcoss VV and new to him. ( stop laughing) He is a true marvel, and I see why people obsess over him. A fiery, unique voice. Wow.
mark slaughters voice is awesome
The Greenman The Greenman Guess you don't know real vocal talent, and plus, i don't think someone would sound like this if their balls were being crushed. So, you're an idiot lol.
@@jackshittle no
@Frank Filthyfinger You should go back to school, your grammar is shit. Holy fuck
Damn I did not realize how awesome Bobby rock was
He’s a Berklee grad.
Check out his book.
Yes he’s a great drummer . Plays with Lita Ford now
The backing vocals are so solid, they hold the band together. They sound just as good as a pre-recorded backing track.
yes, funny that!
Very much sound like that...
Agreed, but at least they sound good. Way too often songs suck coz the band is able to deliver everything but that. Here at least it's clear 😉
@@JMSoundFreak sure, all true. Me, personally id rather everything be live. With these guys I don't know why they used taped backing vox, Paul Stanley both said in their books when talking about Vinnie, that he was a great singer along with guitar and songwriting.
100% pre-recorded backing tracks. Oh well.
Absolutely fantastic thank you brilliant brilliant show as good as any of them thank you😂😮😅😊
If you weren't around in the 80s you wont get it. You had to be there to understand the nonsense. 80s were AWESOME! Here's to having to much fun.
you know it my man..., l, like vinnie, am a ct. native and italian...., l had a hair metal band in the '80s and the music, the fun, the parties and the CHICKS were unparalleled ......, we had the best FUN....., it must suck to be a millennial....,,,, really.....,
@WAYNE FG dude, you said it . these millennials have no fuckin idea what REAL FUN is... cheap good weed, fast cars , the hottest chicks (not tattooed, dressed down vaping freakshows, yuck) , the best clubs and the GREATEST MUSIC EVER CREATED :rock and fuckin roll, dude .. long live it..., and peace to you bro'..
Love the 80s but you are supposed to believe in God unseen according to Quran. So I don't understand your handle.
And the coke dint kill u
The 90's were way better. I don't give a damn what ya'll say. Facts are facts and I just stated them.
Boy.....these were the days. Am I right other 50+ year olds? My back hurts.
56 here!
51. I've staved off aging and still have my 80's hair, miraculously. Saw them back in the Day. Just got back from Judas Priest in Boston and I can't quite rock like I used to. My neck was tired after Sabaton.
Hell yeah your right I'm 56 and my back hurts too. And I ❤seeing Mark and Dana pre Slaughter days. Mark's got some pipes and he's good looking too.
I’m in my early 30s but my back started to hurt already lol love 80s metal music 😊
I must admit Mark slaughter was a good-looking kid you can tell there was no chemistry between him and Vinnie Vincent
Wow, Vinnie actually played that solo, very close to the album. Also, Mark Slaughter nailed Fleishman's mile-high lead vocals!.
Mark will never sound better than this period in his career.
These songs were made for his voice.
Thank god you're not a supreme court justice :)
I completely agree with James. All systems go is better than anything Slaughter did
They were made for his young voice. Once he got deeper It fucked up
Thank you. I've had my share of people make negative comments towards me when I have posted comments on youtube. Calling names , etc... We all should be able to write our opinions and have discussions of our favorite artists without receiving such hateful feedback. Thanks again.
I just listened to Burn...insane, this is just insane. The sharp riffs, this tasty momentaneous phrygian flavor, the band, and this singer! The precision of his melodies, not flat, not sharp, the intensity...insane.
And this double solo, I can understand that some people might not be touched by VV's playing, but the touch, the sound, the inspiration, the creativity...I wish you like it in a 2nd life coe you really miss sth here.
I hope Vinnie will come back someday, another V, obviously.
Completely agree!
I remember meeting these guys back in July 1988 at a Streetside Records in St. Louis and getting my pic taken with them. They were playing a show that night at Mississippi Nights rock club....good times!
Wow, you actually got to meet Vinnie Vincent in person? That's totally awesome. I am such a fan of his, and always will be.
He just murdered those strings. Definitely one of my favourite 80s shredders
He sucks
@@markusaurelius777yeah.half of the notes played, might have fit the songs better.who aspires to learn or play his solos?
Burn was such an incredible song.
no one on Earth can play heavy metal schred ..better...Fuck Vinnie deff came from another world..
Thanks for posting. I was there. Incredible performance by the band and Vinnie was incredible.
Aint nobody hold a candle to mark slaughter.inspirational to say the least..mark you are soooo BLESSSSED! OW!!!!!!.MICHAEL
Just imagine when the singer hits puberty.
This really takes me back... big hair... vinnie's obnoxious solos. I love it!
Vinnie get your shit together... and bury them dogs

Vinny can't play anymore he's a fat woman now that rips people off with fake seminars
@@thedominator211 Shut up you asshole. He still can play. People from his private events say that. Different people. And he looks like he wants cos he still amazing player and talanted man.
@@DSlookAtU has he actually played an electric guitar? Everytime I see him he's playing an acoustic
@@allsystemsgo8678 he shreded they say. He hardly did it with acoustic guitar I think
DAMN I miss this type of talent
As overdone as the vocals and guitar playing are, you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone else capable of performing them. That alone makes it impressive to me.
Check this out. th-cam.com/video/gqhIzXazmNE/w-d-xo.html Almost like watching the same band. Those were the days.
I was thinking almost the same exact thing then my eye caught your comment…dead on. Reminds me of the vocals from Watchtower.
Say what u want they sound good and the way vinnie played fit this bands sound
When you think one second that if the (great) guy that captured this in video would have been 8 to 10 meters on the left side we would have been able to see all solos....
Anyway an awesome performance. Huge thanks for having shared this!
For a live performance it sounds pretty damn good...
WOW! This is great! The video is really clear, and I can't believe how good mark slaughter is,he is hitting every note perfect! It is so hard to sing like he does!
There will never be another decade like the 80s when it comes to quality music. One doesn't get the kind of quality music, amazing players today like you did in the 80s. It's a shame that today's music industry doesn't have the same kind of quality music with amazing players like they did in the 80s. Today's music industry just don't get it.
That first VVI album was an adventure in sonic riffery that could be too much after awhile. Robert Fleichman’s vocals were a match for Vinnie’s guitar. Super high for no damn reason but damn impressive.
The 2nd album was fantastic. The songwriting, the guitar was tamed just a hair compared to that first album, and the vocals were still way higher than I could ever reach. Much more polished. Some would say commercial.
I think a 3rd album would have been a breakout success. Too bad it never happened.
Maybe But a 3rd album would have been to late to the party Anyway considering that the fact that it would have been released in late 89 or 90 cutting their success short.
i love 80s rock....glam/sleaze/hair metal of whatever you wanna call it....im so glad to see these full concerts.....seeing them nowa days is cool...but now like back then...and back then i was too young to go.....so thank you guys!!! music history is the gift that keeps on giving......
i will always love Dana&Mark, for they are as talented as Good People ,who tried their best,to save this project...see how much they try to involve Vinnie in the Scene....then they got slaughter and they did it at their best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At that time Vincent had already been a professional musician for 12 years... the other three were only at the beginning of their careers
Vinnie's guitar skills are undeniable! His fingers could barely stop long enough for the crowd to scream!
Most of the crowd were screaming 'Please STOP!!!!'
@@c.c.7687you secretly envy Vinnie, if the truth be known.
Love the canned backups
Amazing. I love VVI since 1987 and forever. Great musicians.
Now, that's what you call A PROPER GIG! 🇬🇧
They are so talented 😁😍😻that you are left ⬅️◀️ almost breathless and in awe. The intros are so fantastic on these songs it could be played for the entirety and still rate.
Sounds like a hot mess to me
A 10 minute guitar solo...I'm glad that I wasn't there lol.
This great material and 🎵🎶 musically diverse talent in harmony is absolutely incredible and rendered me literally speechless for t first 🥇 time.🎸🤘
Sounds amazing. They were great.
Epitome of shred , buzz saw solos ,badass
Mark sounds amazing.
Saw this tour in Houston. I even said hi to the drummer he was out in the crowd before the show cool guy 😎
The drummer was cool and friendly. Met him also
Thats nothing..on the van halen 1984 tour david lee took a sip of whiskey and i gestured for it and he handed it to me and i took a swig and handed it back!!
It's a shame this guy's life was such a train wreck... I LOVED this band! Vin had a very unique style!
What do you mean, his life was a train wreck? What are you referring to?

Widdly, widdly, widdily wee.
Blind Terry Tucci I know what it needs. It needs more cowbell
If you were not so blind Terry, you would clearly see that the crowd is in total disbelief at the awesome spectacle of Vinnie's guitar prowess. It's really too bad you that are blind, Terry.

@Freedom Fighter That was about as funny as a one legged man in an ass kicking contest, Freedom Fighter.
Some of his playing may seem incoherent but you just can't stop watching it.
Gracias por dar buenos momentos....ante está sociedad decadente!! "Linda voz"
Reminds me of what happened when dokken would perform live.....need a rhythm guitar. Sounds empty without it. Though it's fun to hear Vinnie shred all over the place.
Thumbs up to person for this sweet video 🤘🫶🙌👍👌💪🤞🏜✌️🖖🤝🙏🤙☝️🫴🤟🎸🎶
One of my favorite bands in the 80's. Vinnie such an incredible talent. His playing is always impressive.
You had to live through the 80s to understand it, Vinnie Vincent invasion then later slaughter, motley Crue ,Ratt,WASP, quiet riot, steeler,Kiss....Those times will never come again and they are missed
How was “that time of year” not included in their set list?
Because this tour took place before their second album
Brilliant glam with ample lighting speed guitar solos
Dana Strum is one of the coolest and nicest guys in Rock.
Los dos discos de esta banda son una verdadera joya. Gracias por compartir. Thanx for sharing.
Great stuff! Amazing quality. But they should've played "That Time Of Year".
There is too much studio magic on that track. Probably couldn't pull it off live.
@@carvinblack they did it on some dates, sounded good.
Yes! That was the best song on the album in my opinion.
Love kills is my favorite
@@carvinblackon this tour, they were promoting their first album, those songs hadn't been released yet.
Mark and Dana have great chemistry onstage and you can see that they are good friends having a blast together when they preform! Forming Slaughter together was bound to happen
Slaughter's always living in the shadows of Vinnie
Ace is the guitarist that got me started playing. Vinnie is the guitarist that got me practicing more. That's the difference between those two guys. Debate over?
Vinnie sure did make me practice more and had a really cool inspiration on me. I thank him so much for it, Ace can go fuck himself, the real rock n roll here is Vinnie, why? He's all in for girls, drugs and rocking out on guitar. Ace is for fame, money and ofc girls.. if he has a wife today, idno, cant bother to check it out. but anyways, what is rock n' roll you may ask? Well it sure isn't Kiss without Vinnie, Rock N' Roll is Sex, Drugs and ofc, Rock N' Roll.
So all of you whining about Ace being better, well sure Kiss made it bigger, but that was for the show, for the money, why the fuck can't Paul play on guitar and why the fuck does he even have one? for showing off. Kiss is an total show band that isn't real rock n roll, i assure you people, Kiss is NOT Rock N' Roll without Vinnie.
When I first saw Vinnie i was like WTF! WHO IS THAT?!.. the ankh, it caught me right away!, thinking, THIS guy is spiritual, Rock N' Roll lives in a spirit, and the spirit of Rock N' Roll, (The Devil, God) IS the spirit. NOT about the money, NOT about the show, but about representing what's real in this life. Rock N' Roll chooses it's real fighters, you can't choose to be rock n roll, you either are BORN with it, or NOT, and in Vinnies situation, he was BORN with it. he didn't want to wear that make up and clothes, that's why he put the ankh as the real symbol, cuz he KNEW he wasn't going to last long in that band, that's why he never signed the papers.
He wanted to represent THE spirit!, and he did it. He loves drugs, girls and girly make up, cuz he loves the other sex so much, that he wants to be similar to it, he's a sexy guy, cmon guys, you can't deny it. cuz he was born like it, this was his destiny, to be a REAL rocker, he lets NOTHING walk over him. But the guys in Kiss, they did.
Keli Poison You're joking rite ..of course you are because this is absolutely fucking hilarious (if your serious ...get back on the meds asap !!)
and they're both remedial at best.
Vinny's leads sound like shit. I can't hear any melody whatsoever.
No, because nobody cares what got you playing, and nobody cares what got your practicing. Mainly because nobody knows who the fuck you are. Are you famous or something? Cause I sure as fuck ain't heard of you if you are a somebody. I thought not.
This is fucking awesome!
MIND BLOWING
Thanks for posting, great concert loved both albums...
Sometimes when members of a band hate each other it’s 🔥 on stage!
love it!
Wow great video loved this band
So glad I was a teen at this time. Pure magic!
Nah, Vinnie wrote all the songs.. I love his Blitzkreig style of playing....
Sure seems like the background vocals were fake.
Wow!!!! This one brings back some GREAT memories!!!!!
Slaughter had such great control at such a range tf
It's amazing to me. Not only could he hit high notes way beyond the range of most male singers, but he maintained near-perfect control and quality, even in a live performance. A rare gift.
Thanks for posting this one. I missed this show in Toronto when it happened, but was not able to see it. Thanks again.
Holy rareness!! This is awesome!
VINNIE VINCENT is GOD..! TO MUCH TALENT for KISS...! AMAIZING VOICE MARK SLAUGHTER
You had to be there. It was sold-out. One night to never repeat again.
Wow !! his claim to fame was playing to 500 people at a sold out show but you're rite about one thing ..it will never be repeated because Vinnie couldn't make it on his own + the fact that he screwed or scammed everyone who he crossed paths with & now because of his behavior over the last 25yrs he hides from the world & lives in seclusion like a paranoid little troll who btw has been seen dressed up as women by many people trying to disguise himself to not be recognized ...or as many believe , Vinnie has always been a woman trapped in a boys body ..a transvestite who cant afford the surgery to become the bitch he/she really is. I hope he's well God bless !!
Troy Alexander scorp apparently wasn't too far off sadly. He sure looks like he's transforming into a woman. Don't know what that's got to do with his guitar playing but DAMN MAN?
Lame audience.
Jeez this fresh as heck so Kool 😊
Vinnie was faaast!!!!!
Noise
@@markusaurelius777 he was fast- bad tone, out of time and sloppy with key sometimes, but fast.
@@scottclark7592 Fast is irrelevant when you suck like he did. He played ok in KIss, and alone he was a nightmare.
Ace's leads were all very similar in structure to each other,he was simply the master of vibrato and changing patterns and offering different variations of the lick.
His leads were instantly identifiable, there is a reason Paul went out to Aces house and spent the day begging him to stay in the band..Originality and melody over ability and speed..every day!
I think he shreds like Shawn Lane and he is highly regarded.
***** I was referring to Vinnie of course not Ace !
GamezOf War I LOVE ACE. I'm not saying this to be a troll, but Paul's main reason for doing that was that Kiss was up to sign a contract and they'd literally end up losing a couple million each, if Ace were to leave. Which ended up happening.
GamezOf War Fanfic
Talk is cheap, Vinnie writes GREAT songs, Ace is average and mostly boring.
Great Group / Great Musicians🎸😎👊
Vinnie is an awesome guitarist!
Back in the day during the Glam/Thrash metal wars of the 1980's, I used to hate this. Looking back now, this isn't that much different than what Pantera was doing at the same time. Pantera hit a little harder as a glam band, but the idea was still the same. Funny how age makes you appreciate things you didn't like when you were younger.
They sound great
glad somebody made this and thxfor good post
Man I used to go there all the time. That was place was great !
Man the 80's was the best music and party, with no cell phones !
It would be hard to listen to marks voice night after night on tour 😀. It’s like scratching chalk board.
Dude I totally get what you're saying about "name calling". Too many people who get on here to make comments, manage to turn debates into personal attacks instead of debating the music, artist, whatever in a mature manner. Thumbs up to you for making the comment.
Head ace comming hooh! Screaming voice vinnie was a good song writer and an awesome schredder! No doubt about it!
Having played the Bay Area circuit during this time, I can tell you that the sound engineer for this show is absolutely amazing. These small venues were a nightmare for getting a sound that didn’t sound like you were playing out of a tin can. Also, this was recorded on a camera with almost zero sound filters. And the sound is album quality. But also Vinnie was a complete ass and demanded everyone in his band be spot on. He was so mad at Kiss at this time. And so he had was on a mission to prove they made a mistake 1) not allowing him to write songs and 2) then kicking him out. 😊
I just listened to the first song, and does anyone else feel like that guitar solo didn't really match, or compliment the structure or feel of the song? As in no set up/building, no tension and chord resolution. No moving passages, no creating of any directional expectation for the listener, no phrasing that plays off the backing music. Also the egregious lack of dynamic. Just a waterfall of notes. The speed doesn't fit with what the drummer and bass are trying to do. It sounds as though he was told to improvise a solo, but nobody told him about what changes or keys will be used. I mean, if there were similar situations with other songs, you could just swap out the solos, maybe changing the key, and it wouldn't be problematic to the composition at all. I just wanted to say this because I've seen a lot of back and forth as to this guy's merit as a guitarist, and I think these are important points that I've never seen articulated before. But, maybe this is the only song that applies here. What do you guys think? Specifically, I mean.
yes
In earlier productions with kiss, Dan Hartmann or Edgar Winter, Vincent played only melodically and harmonically as you would expect from a professional musician... with his own band the Vinnie Vincent Invasion he wanted to do something completely different that had never been done before... some solos sound like a caricature of rock, jazz and fusion, which is probably what it is supposed to be... I hear a lot of jazz lines,
This is great, but...I could really use a live version of "That Time of Year" Vinnie...
Dude if this entertains you look up led zeppelin...you will hear real music...your welcome!!
