If I was manager I'd have been well hacked off at Windass taking the penalty. Smith every time for me. If we don't buck our ideas up we will start slipping down the table.

Honest review, boils my piss when players dont even do the basics. Workmate, effort, commitment and attitude should be givens. We lacked the identity and cohesion DR bangs on about. Need a consistent team and formation over the coming weeks.

3 good things to come out of that non performance; 1. Chalobah got more minutes, he looks good. 2. We should have got battered and came away with a point. 3. DR should now know those he can't trust/Palmer can't play in midfield

Without Bannan we are rudderless - he's in everyone's faces all the time letting them know when they aren't doing their jobs and leading by example - we looked so weak and pedestrian yesterday - very poor with noone taking responsibility! Pato has the same effect with our players - he refuses to give in - the crowd get involved and that raises the atmosphere and the players respond - at home especially we are so easy to play against anyway - just play the high press put pressure on our defence and mistakes will follow - Danny needs to pick a settled back line be it a four or a 'five' - there seems to be a lack communication (you could see it yesterday - players arguing etc). For me it has to be Smith and Jamal Lowe up top - Lowe is a very intelligent player who needs a run of games - only one of Gassama or Musaba on the pitch at any one time - give them 45 mins each...Let's have Inglesson or Pato to bolster midfield and do the hard graft getting stuck in but also pushing and probing forward... Id calmed down until I watched this just now... 😂😂😂... Spent this morning rebuilding the cladding/gutters and windowsills that had erm detached themselves on the cabin outside that's part of our campsite and wondering how to replant our uprooted tree... Its been fun down by ere in S Wales the last few days - chuffin' wind haha!! Anyway bring on Blackburn - we'll have to be on the ball against them definitely!!
I was sat laughing at how many chances Preston spurned and produced more " Oofs" than John Shuttleworth !. Had a feeling Windass would miss the penalty but pleased for Smith . Lucky point in the end !! , how that bloke with the pony tail sliced wide from 5 yards !!!
As always a great analysis of the game, my cousin (PNE fan) was at the game either his youngest & said he can’t believe that we’re in the top 10…I said to him neither can I lol It’s time now that DR drop these players that really can’t be bothered & put in half hearted performances, they won’t even do the basics as you mentioned! Nailed on with valery, that winning desire that we require isn’t there. I’ve seen it before where know body wants the ball, Palmer was looking down on the ground, Players not getting into the space asking for the ball. That was strange when marv just let ball go out. It’s as though he was disgusted that much of palmers pass too him he couldn’t be arsed. It’s not good enough. Windass if he wants to be an outstanding player you have to be consistent. I actually thought he played well but that pen was passed to the keeper. Agree with beadle he’s been outstanding, his worth though is rising.

Agreed about they looked like they weren’t up for it because of the weather, but Danny needs to give his head a wobble if he thinks Palmer is a midfielder and I don’t rate Valery either. Valentin far more productive with Palmer as his back up. Ingleson should have started in midfield. Johnson infuriated me too when he wouldn’t run for that ball, I’d drop him for that.

Your comments about players attitude struck a chord Jim, when I was at school there were 2 lads in the year above me Graham Reid and David speedie (who I think you’re aware of 😉) Reidy was the more gifted player but speedie was a horrible little bastard, if you took the ball off him he’d chase you all the way home to win it back 😂 They both went to Barnsley when they left school and I would’ve put money on Reidy going on to make it in the game. He went to somewhere like Northampton and speedie eventually went to Chelsea and played for Scotland………. Cos he had that never say die attitude. Opposition fans hated him but you wouldn’t mind a few like him your side
