I'm a 5 foot tall rider, I've been riding for years and never been able to put my bike on a stand since it's almost as big as me haha. I've never seen anyone putting their bike on a stand using the rear wheel, so I tried it and it worked!! It was even easier than I thought!
I always like leaning over the bike and grabbing the swingarm to lift it. Had a customers bike onetime with a zip tied rear fender I didnt know about, pop!
I like the rear tire lift I’m going to try that next time. And I can lift my bike pretty easy because I’m tall and decently fit having a construction job with lots of lifting heavy stuff
Super helpful, thanks so much! I'm coming from street bikes so I'm used to center-stands and rear-stands, but had no idea how to use one of these. I can't even check chain tension (properly, per the book at least) without one so I'm off to CycleGear. I can't get over how damned light these bikes are...literally half of what I'm used to. It feels like pushing an E-bike around, not even exaggerating.
Picks bike up numerous times by the subframe, but never mentions it.... I used to pick my bike up by the rear fender, right behind the seat. Picking it up that way, egged out the mounting hole and caused my fender to be loose even when torqued down..
I always turn my stand , so if it happens to rock the front or back tire will catch it..if it's turned sideways where the sponsors are showing and rocks, the bike could tip over
Hey Rado! Guess what? I have one of Sebastian Tortelli's bikes. Previous owner purchaed from him directly when he was still local and I just picked it up a few months ago. Its a 2013 KTM 125sx. What model did you buy? Cheers!
Lift it up by the bottom of the front forks. One hand on bottom of fork and other on a grip. Your then only lifting the lightest part of the bike. Just saying 👍
Dad taught me a saying that’ll help you keep all fingers and toes unsmushed and that is “NEVER PUT FINGERS ANYWHERE YOU WOULDN’T PUT YOUR WEE WEE AND YOU NEVER SMASH A FINGER LOL just stop and ask that question and if answer is no then don’t put hands there
I'm a quadrapalegic, and I can't put my bike on my stand. I love riding around the trails using my mouth operated throttle and gear shift controls! It's all good as long as I don't tip over! My saying is "Tip over means game over!" I usually lay there until a good samaritan comes along and puts me back on my bike! I once had to lay on the trail for three days until someone came along that stopped to help. I got real thirsty in those three days, which makes me prepare better before going out on a ride. I hydrate before, during, and after each ride these days!
I'm exhausted just watching Jay do this so many times
As someone who hardly ever ride but moves it around way more often in my garage, I never thought of lifting from the rear tire. Genius! Thank you
Heres a tip from a lifetime racer. Stand on the right side of the bike and use the front brake to help you lift the rear. Makes it VERY easy.
He said that in the video lol
Been standing bikes my whole life and just learned (the hard way) how bad technique can really hurt your back, thanks for this!

I Never new how to put a bike onna Stand i No Now
Thanks for sharing, I feel like an idiot having to watch a video on how to use a bike stand but this was very helpful.
So glad it was helpful!
Than you so much for posting this. Excited to learn to ride my 1st dirt bike and all the “simple” tricks like the ones in your video.
Good luck lol
Thank you. I watched this but forgot how you did it. I was breaking my back and had to come watch again.
Sir I wish you to stay healthy and strong for a long time!
thanks I just got a klx 140rf and Im 73 this will help me alot to get it on a 13 inch stand and not hurt myself lifting all the wieght.
Yeah good luck partner
Wow! Thanks Jay and Rado for the great tips. This will make putting the bike on the stand so much easier!
I always like leaning over the bike and grabbing the swingarm to lift it. Had a customers bike onetime with a zip tied rear fender I didnt know about, pop!
Good to know. My stand is hydraulic and goes up and down but just barely too tall to slide under the bike at the lowest setting
Great tips. Been trying to figure out how to comfortably get my Varg onto its colossally high stand.
I grab on the frame right above where the pipe is & that works well for me

I almost have more fun maintaining my bike than actually riding it. Nothing like a nice clean and greased up machine
My back needed this video
By the time I get mine off the stand, started, and out of the shop, I have to take two or three slow laps just to catch my breath😂😂
Dr 650 another story .. lol my back
Megs grabs the bike from the front wheel. You can lock the front brake so the wheel doesn’t roll in your grip
Bikes should all have a handle connected to the frame ideal if it's got a rear carrier
Hey Jay, If I have room, I stand to the right side of the bike and reach over and grab the side stand . This is on a KTM 200 and a Husky TE125
Now that I am big enough to put my 250 on the stand myself, i am glad I don't have to wait for my dad to do it for me🤣
Helpful. Thanks
very useful, thanks a lot for sharing

Great video, thank u 🙏
Damm thanks so much this helped a lot
Bruv straight workout 😂
I've been using stand that you kick a foot pedal and it lifts the bike. Way easier. Don't get wy people get fixed stands
Me too, but some think we are lame for it...
@@Themusicbiz definitely lame lol jk I have one too but it stays in my garage and never goes to the track
Glad I saw this. Had no idea I was being judged. Former all American hammer thrower in college turns wuss. Not anymore bro.…
@@docmartin450 🤣🤣👍
Damn, what a beast
Thx so munch
Thats a good workout
Love the color of those plastics the kinda bright green,is it the lighting of the vid or is a special color

Do you store bikes on their stand in the garage always? Or just leaning on the kickstand if it has one any pros and cons to either?
Lift it up by the bottom of the front forks. One hand on bottom of fork and other on a grip. Your then only lifting the lightest part of the bike. Just saying 👍
Ah the weakling method.
@@humpday2267 if you say so
And from the fork ? For me is the easiest way! I am 450 owner
My rear tire is almost touching the floor. How can I make it so that it is farther from the floor?
what is the brand of this metal bike stand? let me know
That’s obviously a 250 🙄🤣.
Well done guys 👍🏻
Nothing says newbie like watching this video 😅😂🤣
I can do it at 13 with ease on a crf125 f big wheel❤❤
Yeah it's easy my xr600 same thing as that little tiny bike
Us older guys approve. 👍
I tried it with xr200, especially the rear wheel and didnt work. So freaking heavy.
I guess race bikes are way too lighter.
How the heck. How much does that bike way
How many times has your bike hit the garage floor because you couldn't balance it and dropped it?
I do this only from right side of the bike, from other side, I just cant do it properly
yea and if you dont have a front tire on your bike?
Dad taught me a saying that’ll help you keep all fingers and toes unsmushed and that is “NEVER PUT FINGERS ANYWHERE YOU WOULDN’T PUT YOUR WEE WEE AND YOU NEVER SMASH A FINGER LOL just stop and ask that question and if answer is no then don’t put hands there
Just grab the front tire and front break lift up with your legs
I pick things up and put them down
And then you beg your doctor for pain medicine because you just blew your back out. Awesome!😊
Tried with klr, think I pulled something
th-cam.com/video/Trz4nqv9DlU/w-d-xo.html
Let's see you do that with a streetbike
can anyone recommend a stand with the footpedal lift?
Yes
thanks @@illhaveanother4365
@@illhaveanother4365 I think he meant recommend one 😂
No they are all too high to fit under the bike and you still have to lift it anyway
Take your phone out of your pocket, so I’ve heard….
Why don’t you just use one of the step stands??
I just use the electric stand lol.
They have a toxic relationship
Putting the bike on the stand from the right side, is just begging to get burnt from the header. 4 stroke headers will burn the crap out of you
Have a good amigo or buy a stand with a foot pedal lift. If you can't lift your bike - go back to the gym.
Another male Karen thinking he's cool. People watch this video to find out how to do it the right way. No reason for you to comment your piece.
this is ridiculous, If you cant put your bike on a stand, don't own one
Anyone can. You just have to watch this video to make it easier. You're so ridiculous for thinking You're cool.
