25:30 sadly my ideas were never heard by them. I made an extensive UX report with many tweaks to be done to tremendously improve everyday user experience, but nothing at all was implemented or simply reviewed by them(
Once again, you are the first place I go when there's a C4D update, thanks for the great work yet again!
Hopefully the length isn't overwhelming. I debated splitting it up into parts.
No man is great stuff.. lenght is never a problem
@@RocketLasso At first glance, yes it was, but I went to the chapters that most interested me and I'll be back to watch the rest. 🙂
@@RocketLasso Oh, don't worry. I'll probably be on this for a couple of weeks. Between this and EJ's toon pug, I'll be pretty smart by then.
This is just great. Thank you ! 🙏 The chapters are all we need. One think I overlooked in your video that made me pull my hair, is the "order of modifiers in the object manager (order of operation) (Collider goes below the gravity ! Below ! 😜)
Has anyone ever mentioned (probably yes! 😂) that mr. RocketLasso not only brings us top notch information, but does so with an amazing voice, I’d say it’d be great for radio, such a good voice. ❤🎉😅
No one has been down for C4D longer than Chris. Been watching you for at least 10 years
True
I've been watching since whenever he started at GSG which is probably about 15 years ago.
@@dmellis I've been watching him since he was born, at the hospital
I watched him in the womb before he was born and even then he was really good with the mograph cloner tbf.
@@OllyV I watch him while he sleeps.
You're my go-to for C4D updates - thanks for consistently great work! Big love for Chris and his infectious enthusiasm. Awesome video
Epic tutorial Chris!!!! The community thanks you to the deepest of our hearts!!
Yeah buddy! Can't wait to dive into this video. Thank you as always for putting this together.
4 hours. FOUR! That's amazing! There must've been a lot of prep work for this, and you haven't even touched Redshift!
C4D is getting more and more fun. There are amazing results to achieve with just a couple settings and objects, the depths are just endless.
And Chris is one of if not the best source to find out about so many techniques. I love your livestreams, especially when you made that Firewatch-like forest scene with simple trees and a tower and all that, it's so inspiring and so informative.
Thank you so much Chris! And thanks to RocketLasso for your hard work and your incredible contribution to this shimmering community!
That procedural tentacle?!? 🤯
holy moooly, a very exciting update by the look of it! Can't wait to learn more!
Chris.. I hope you're aware of how much you are helping people bring food to their families by sharing your amazing mind and talent with the community. Thank you.🥰
as always amazing tutorial Chris, thank you so much!
Awesome as usual Chris, you are my go to for this always!
I watched this video all 4 hours straight through and it took me about 3 days to grasp :D
Thank you I've not seen other videos whuch would describe new update in such details as you did. Really painstacking work has involved
Loved your enthusiasm and fascination with the particle system - made me want to dive in. Great overview, thanks.
Great Video! :) R.I.P X-PARTICLES!! this update is amazing, I've been waiting for this for so long.
Hell yeah! Insydium will now loose a sh!? Load of their customers! Finally😅 no more forcing to pay for stuff you dont need (Fuse)
nah. This is some basic stuff compared to what X-Particles capable of at full potential :(
This is a good direction for Maxon, but the Insydium team is still years ahead..
I really like the insydium folk, I can tell they are such nice people. I wish they invested more in their UX and UI... After 4 years and several attempts I can still barely tap into its potential.. and this particle system looks so much more intuitive. I hope the Maxon folk give them an offer to acquire them or something to combine their talents.. I don't want to see them go down as a company because of this.. But then again they may have foreseen this as they started to diversify from x-particles.
I'm like $800 (or maybe half that because Black Friday, can't remember) into those guys from having needed X-Particles on a project a few years ago, and I've never been able to get a coherent answer out of them as to whether it's even possible to pay them to use their product again. I swear they sound like, if I wanted to start using XP again, I'd have to pay for all the time I haven't been using it like it's back-rent or something; as if, because I've paid them once before, it would cost me hundreds more to get back into it than it would for someone just opening an account today. I'm sure this couldn't actually be the case since that'd be patently out-to-lunch: it has to be a literal inability to communicate coherently. Made more sense for me to just give up working with particles for the most part until Maxon updated their native system.
@@adamtorocsik Totally agree. I was just saying this to someone yesterday... if you do a ton of particle work you're probably sticking with X-P, but this is really good for folks like me who probably get less than a handful of projects involving particles a year. Far easier, faster, more intuitive and fun than building TP Xpresso rigs.
So much love for Chris and his enthusiasm...it's infectious 🙏
THX Chris, absolutley well done. Long but every second worth it - BIG like! Greetings from Austria
I will be watching this in parts lol, but I will watch all of it.
Thanks Chris!
Dang! Amazing job Chris! 4 hours long and this video was never boring! Super exciting to see so many new features being added to C4D! I was stuck smileing with joy through out many parts of this video! Great job!
Thanks so much for the kind works Epic!
I Always love your anthusiasm Chris !
Beautiful! Thank you Chris
You rock, Chris! So many possibilities!
Always Amazinhg! Thanks Chris!
Super nice video Chris!
outstanding video! sooo cool, clear and useful!
"Grab your coffee and let's get going" is such a nice morning vibe to have watching these videos
Haha dit is de eerste comment die ik tegenkom. Lekker bezig Thom! Hoe ver ben jij al? Ik zit op 3h:45m 🤣 zo nice dit
@@jorddewilde hahahaha jaaa al afgekeken gek! suuuupernice update dit
I am literally in the middle of a job where I need vines and was struggling for a solution. Perfect timing on the Ivy Generator. Thank you!
IIn my Ivy Generator, the node is blank. any idea why? \
YES! Amazing video Chris! (As usual) haha
YES YES YES 🤩
Thanks Chris, You're the best!!!
Excellent videos, thank you.
Amazing ! Thanks a lot Chris
Missed you bigtime Jedi!
Shoutouts to your excellent work!
20:00 so long awaited!!!
As always, awesome teaching!
4+ hours of content about a version of C4D I do not own? Yes please!
This is great! Thank you!
Excellent breakdown of the new particles system. I would love to see a similar conditions system implemented into C4Ds pyro solver. For instance having heat or density only emitted while something is in motion. Would go a long way to adding some dynamic realism to destruction simulations. As long as I'm dreaming some simple secondary fracturing on impact would be nice to have as part of the fracturing system. I'm a couple of years deep into learning Houdini but these type of new innovations keeping me using C4D on projects that I need to quickly get out the door.
Amazing ! Thanks a lot Chris, you're a genius hehe !
Thanks a lot - this was super usefull and entertaining.
FInally That particle system wow , i was waiting since i use thinking particles system in 3ds max
A HUGE thank you to you!
Was pretty excited thrilled even for the Ivy Generator but then it said Maxon One only 😭
Love the updated particle system though!
Amazing Chris! We need realtime render engine in C4D
Love the new particles engine! Respect to Maxon guys!
Got it! I watch this video from start to the end! But after 3 attempt))
Thank you very much.
Great video!
Good job. You are the best
LOVE YOUR WORK, BROTHER!!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
ok now I get why insydium was recently selling perpetual licenses at 50% off
Thanks!
Absolutely love this whole video, was even able to make my wife watch it with me 😂
Super curious on what your new PC build would be, send the specs!
amazing!
1:24:12 - I had so many issues with Xparticles without this Continous...
Fantastic update! I am sooo excited for this! One question chris - is the particle system running on the CPU or the GPU and if its on the CPU is it Multithreaded?
Thx for the super video man!!
Both! But my old graphics cards aren't compatible, so I'm stuck using the CPU. The GPU is waaay faster.
@@RocketLasso hell yeah! Thanks buddy🙏
thanks :D
that transfer property feature!
It's surprising that Maxon didn't create a particle layout option like the one you created.
nice, it took 20 years to get there, cool and a lot of control, tho i think the project can get a bit messy... nice demo tho
Amazing ❤
this is awesome. I am having a hard time adding rigid body to particles (spline emmiter) RS. I am throwing it on everything a nothing seems to keep spheres from overlapping. Thx in case you answer.
Look at that! You animated a Rocket on a Lasso. Great overview so far. Only 30 mins in.
3:59:44 a clue about the fluid solver that's coming. Yay.
Goodbye x-particles I wish you the best!
I wish. but this has been so much slower than x-particles
Property transfer is amazing!!
I've already got a bunch of problematic models I want to test this on. 😅
Thank Team Maxon for this Features
Wow...hell of a video! I'm having an issue though with dynamic particles. When I render, I'm getting loads of random black frames. An ideas? I'm also finding that nothing renders unless I cache the sim.
Awesome tutorial like always 😊 👍🏻
Try proxy editing in premiere pro , convert the videos to low resolution like 1080p or lower in mov then edit the footage. when you're done editing relink with 4k footage while rendering, this the method movie editors do for editing with high resolution footage
I started that process, but I had 5.5 hours of footage, and the proxy was taking 3x the length of the video to process. Didn't have enough time to finish the edit if I did! Thx tho.
Amazing video. IDK why 02:47:00 I am not getting 2D surface after using flock
Amazing tut!!! It is possible animate the leaves of the IVY?
Sure! I haven't specially tried to, but if you put each leaf in a null you could keyframe the leaf. Or you could gently keyframe some of the direction parameters for the leaves.
GSG HDRI images can be dragged straight into the viewport to create a linked dome light, like the ones in the Asset Browser.
Neat! I must just look for any .hdr
Thank you so much for the introduction. BTW, how do i restrict turbulence in only x and z only ? The particles will still be in 3d though. but Y will not be effected by turbulence.
Math modifier is my 2nd best friend !!! and of course.. no more XP
I missed your videos
Thanks you for your videos! Wha your computer can’t edit 4k? That is crazy talk. Even if it can’t proxy ?
Thanks!! how do i import usd animation to cinema 4d?
Good review, thanks!
What's your computer specs BTW? :)
Currently Intel Core i9 processor, two GTX 1080 Ti graphics cards, and 64 gigs of RAM. Looking to upgrade!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASS
I wonder if the scene nodes workspace is also an efficient way to set up unified particles. If not then they kinda dropped the ball
Such an awesome introduction. Somehow 4 hours is not too long at all. Thanks!
I struggle to understand the Turn modifier. How did you get the particles to turn exactly 45° in the example at 2:41:45?
Make sure you combine them with Look Modifier
Amazing tutorial! One thing I've noticed is the intersections happening when I use a cloner to attach objects to the emitter particles. For example, when creating spheres rolling down an incline the objects bunch together and intersect. Adding a rigid body to the cloner objects doesn't help either and conflicts with the emitter for some reason. Do you know why this is?
Perhaps its the radius of your particles?
man you so smart!
I wouldn't even know what's in these updates if it wasn't for you and EJ, lol.
26:11 You could have called this capsule "Mondrian." 😅
Load of good stuff!
I did update my redshift and c4d, but I do not see the "particles" tab when I apply the redshift tag. Feels bad! I hope it's a bug or something..
This could be an issue with the old redshift version still present in the the plugin folder? Best to make a clean install to see if that fixes it.
Did you drop it on the Particle Group? Not the Emitter?
I can not thank you enough
Also how to use predator to find target one on one ?
property transfer is huge
@1:55:20 can someone help me with this, I am not able to bake the alembic files here. I can't cache both the particles and cloner rigid bodies together.
Thanks for posting such a comprehensive guide to new features.
I've had a quick play but, call me stupid, I can't see an obvious way to do Particle-to-Particle collisions. Is this missing in the first release?
No actual collision per se, but "Flock" effectively does this. You can see it here 3:58:59
c4d+houdini=yyds!!!
any update on that voxel mesher plugin?
watched all 4hrs. Was better than the Snyder cut
RIP Insydium

how to make colorized trails by particle colors? x particles trail object does it. sad to see c4ds particles come without trail object but uses old one. next update should offer something like x particles trail generator.
I'd love to see that too!
Why does it seem like this update slowdown the viewport performance compare to previous version? Like 10-25 fps while working large scene file with over 500million onscreen mesh
i love the new "ivy" tool but i can't afford maxon one subscription. is there other way i can purchase ivy tool separately? thank you.
Not at this time.
@@scenenodestips thank you. Hope it will be available soon. :)
At 18:30, what is the secret to preventing the rear wheels from disappearing when you put them in a Fracture object?
Hey, me from 7 minutes ago.
The rear wheel instances can't be Render Instances. They have to be in Instance mode to work in a Fracture.
Is it feasible to render the particles using the Standard render engine instead of RedShift? (Only the particles, no geometry.)
You can render with standard and physical but only with geometry. I don't see that as a problem though. The cloner gives you access to the most important particle data (color, radius, velocity...) and in Multi Instance mode it is also very fast. Just use sphere and you get a similar result to rendering dots. Depending on what you are after you might also get away with tracing the particles and rendering them with hair.
