    I will be deleting any comments talking shit about my torque block. It has been through a lot be kind.
    Also, I DID have the option of going wider with the race tail (they were making it a bit custom or me), but I chose the narrower width to see if the sub 8.5inch boards were actually good for me. Dangers of experimenting.
    Somethings I missed.
    advantages of small width
    - going heel to toe, edge to edge was really easy
    adv of rocket wedge
    - Contact plus leverage to push into your board too when just tucking
    -Totally solid so a great truck/wheel feel. No lose in leverage when pushing.
    - Doesn't feel like a wedge.
    disadv of racetail
    -lack of leverage also meant I felt I wasn't squeezing out all the grip and slowdown power from my wheels

      What I personally do to improve leverage (I love high leverage setups): standing more over/beyond the front truck, narrower track width (narrower hanger or narrower wheel outside lips or just flip the offset wheels), and taller ride height.

    Awesome review! I have American Size 12 feet, so a narrow board is disproportionately smaller for my feet and I feel less stable. Fow me 9" wide is the absolute most narrow board I can consider.

      I feel the same way.

      Size 11 here. 9.2-9.6" is my sweet spot for most set ups. 8.8-9" is ok if on slaloms.

      Size 11.5 here, I’m on the contrary side here and my sweet spot is from 8.4 to 8.8

    would be sick if you made a video on adding pockets, wedges and implants too!

    I got a long way to go to understand true potential of this board (I got Phoenix), but thanks for the great review and inspiration. So many nuances to learn, but your vid is so helpful. 🙏

    Rhino Racetail's method mildly increases deck stiffness and durability too.
    Also, you can make your own wedge implant block out of wood (old/broken decks). You can sand it down bit by bit until it feels just right.

    Great video!
    It would be interesting if you made a video comparing "cheap" precision trucks (less than 300 or 350 dollars). And maybe compare them with the more expensive ones or with some cast trucks🤔

      Real ones remember when REY precisions were around and you could get a set for $160. What even is there nowadays for "budget" precision?

      @cowboy4187 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Zealous come in at $315. That's the only cheaper precision i would suggest. @@RatBürgerSk8

    *I love kicktails, not for kick turns, love the leverage* so I would love havin a wedge on non kicktail boards, wish more companies did this but seen nothin since Venom/attachments.

    Hey Downhill. the rocket leon V2 has similar features with 9 inch and kick tail after torque block

    This kinda reminds me of the old Valhalla Fenris from like 2012, which essentially had a rear wedge pressed in but with a much more dramatic angle.

    Hey! I really started to like that channel, but I have a question. Is it possible to powerslide like that with my Powell Peralta 93a 58mm Dragon wheels? Thx

    I think what would really change the game would be some sort of bolt-on torque block. They could be made to different shapes and sizes from materials of varying stiffnesses to suit more riders

    Thanks for your awesom review! Do you recommend leather suites for scared riders?

    • @RatBürgerSk8
      @RatBürgerSk8 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      If you're nervous about getting hurt then leathers are always gonna be cheaper than hospital bills. Keep in mind to always skate within your limits though, don't set yourself up to fail. Be sure you know how to slide to a stop at any speed you might achieve.

    Yeah, another advantage that a smaller riders have is their feet do not droop over the edges.
    First one ofc be - the crouching biomechanics is so damn easier for them

    Hey bro! Between this racetail and regular Rhino, wich one would you go for?? Thanks and blessings.

    • @downhill254skate
      @downhill254skate  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you have big feets, the regular Rhino. If you have small feet/prefer skinny boards the Race tail.
      If you can afford a custom then get it the width you need mayne

    This thing got me thinking about buying some skate deck plys and epoxy and DIYing one of these onto my deck. The foamy ones don't feel right to me.

    DH254, I think that the racetail and the micro are the same length. The differences are with the widths, do you feel that the conaves make any difference in how the overall board feels from the standing platform and comfort level?

    • @downhill254skate
      @downhill254skate  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. The race tail has relatively mellow concave and is more comfortable than the Micro. The Concave on the micro is a bit aggressive

  • @DHdream

    Do you move your front foot between toe and heal slides? I wiggle mine a little so the heal is of the edge. Does this mean my Bord is to big? If it does I'll trade mine for your rocket. It is a chase hiller pro 9.2 in wide if you are interested.

    • @DHdream
      @DHdream 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Trading is just an idea. Thx for your vids your very inspiring!

    • @RatBürgerSk8
      @RatBürgerSk8 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Ideally you shouldn't ever need to shift your front foot much, it can cause instability and isn't efficient. It might be a little wide, or your front truck might be too tight which is demanding you to shift more weight onto the rail to leverage the truck.

      Most people have a bit of their heel off the edge

    • @nickamarit
      @nickamarit 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't shift my front foot at all, and for my back foot, I only raise my heel for toesides, but the back foot's position doesn't really move.

    • @downhill254skate
      @downhill254skate  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes I do, but not always. Doesn't mean the board is too big, could just be how your body reacts. My feet shift all the time though so idk. Some people are flexible enough to keep their feet in one spot

    Hi, I am new to downhill, is your board 30 inches long? THanks alot, I sub>d, If I buy those wheels what truck length should I buy for this board? THANKS!! Awesome Films Sir.!!

    • @downhill254skate
      @downhill254skate  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey man, my board is 30inches long but it needs expensive $450 trucks. if you can manage it, no problem but I actually recommend a longer board with 23-25inch wheelbase, 9inch width, and $60 trucks like the Caliber 44* 158mm trucks
