i guess Im asking the wrong place but does anyone know a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost the account password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Jasiah Emilio i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm trying it out atm. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Shane your a true credit to the surf skating community. Great vid as always mate. Very true about what you say at the end about them not being designed for high speed.
@@shanelai2515 im goofy and find my spring bolt seems to loosen up after riding my board. I've noticed a few people mention this online. Do you have the same problem mate?
@@richardcartwright5019 i am guessing you ride the C7. Yes i had the same problem twice. I cleaned the truck, removed all grease. Then was very meticulous when greasing again, making sure it does not touch the bolt head and hole or anywhere around them. It worked
Thanks Shane, kepp going. I bought some hand/wrist protection gear and thought maybe thats a topic you want to cover in one of your next videos. Like: What is useful and what you should priotize etc.
Excellent video my man! Just started surfskating about a week ago, your channel will definitely help with my progression. I'm still afraid to go fast and have always been worried being able to slow down without bailing. Great tips! 🤙
I laughed at 1. Was bored by 3. 4 and 5 are already in the bag. Subbing anyway in the hopes you'll keep working your way up the skill ladder. Like, how do you do that thing where you slide the tail all the way out till you're going backwards and stay in control of that, before kickturning back to the front? Smoothstar/YOW rider
Just found you today man your videos are excellent. I'm only really interested in surf skate technique so your channel is perfect for me! I use a Slide! Surfskate but I just got Carver C7 trucks after using the Slide! ones (original version, the 'new wave' brand) for 6 years. Really like the Carver trucks feel a big jump in the overall feel and response / adjustability but the Slide Skate were definitely good too and I was on the original trucks which I believe they improved with their newer own brand ones. Just writing this comment as my own personal experience for others getting into it and maybe looking at the cheaper options. Keep the vids coming, you are awesome!
I've always felt that the hills I've bombed have been less sketchy on my surfskate than other cruisers or regular skateboards. The swiveling nature of the truck and the ability to carve seems to drastically reduce the chance of speed wobble on my YOW. Just my personal experience.
I slide them with no problem at all. My slides in this video felt a bit awkward only because i was using a narrow truck (penny) at the back also. So it was less stable overall
I've never experienced wobble on the waterborne surf and rail adapter. And i ride super loose, like really wiggly. But maybe you were going really fast
I bombed hills on a smootstar Johann defay for a year or two. Super fun sliding the tail right out and s turning through the really steep parts. Switched to a YOW about a year back. It's able to carry a lot more speed through the turns while staying stable. Loads of fun. Haven't tried a waterman yet. One day 😄
@@jetpack98 You should care. You should care a great deal. Based on the CDC's numbers, you have a better chance of dying from a lighting strike and even those numbers are skewed. This isn't about your safety and well being.

You are the best surfskate coach on TH-cam. Well done
Dude this video blew up! Great job Shane! Also supper unique setup with such narrow trucks! Looks like a rip

Thank you so much you saved my ass :D
@Conor Noel Glad I could help =)
I always learn something from your videos. Love the special fx too! Put a smile on my face
Thanks for this now i will not destroy my shoes in one week

He isnt joking about the back foot speed absorb, dealing with a knee injury from over relying on that. Cant wait to heal up and get back out there!
Great!! Thank you man!!! I follow you from Argentina.
Very informative video. Thank you
Your videos never disappoint love it!!

You're last tip is what I use...don't go that fast to begin with! You have a great place to skate. Looks like you have a drone cam.
Drone is for a friend 😊
That was great mate! Clean and simple! Thanks!
Glad it helps
pretty cool, what trucks are those?
Great video Shane... What is the other video where you explore speed checks in more depth? Thanks
Hey thanks! It's not done yet
@@shanelai2515 Okay cool! Really looking forward to that

Thumbs up!
excellent vid my dude! as always :)
Thanks so much 😊
Thank you so much!
Great! 👍
Can you make a 360 tutorial? For both BS&FS?
Yep added that to my bucket list
none of that is considered breaking or stopping. it slows you down, more or less. i mean, what will you do if you have to stop immediately?
Do you know where I can buy cheap surf skate ?
How hard /soft wheels are you using ?
70mm 78a
@@shanelai2515 Thanks! So you are still able to speed check / slide them a bit ?
I slide them with no problem at all.
My slides in this video felt a bit awkward only because i was using a narrow truck (penny) at the back also. So it was less stable overall
@@shanelai2515 On skatepark concrete it is probably very sticky :)
I can carve but that power slide (speed check), I'm afraid I might go flying off my board.
Yeah power slide can be scary and there's no room for error.
I recommend starting from a big carve to ' ease into' in the power slide
it's hard as hell to learn with soft wheels
how is this on an electric board?
curious why is your wheelbase so narrow?
where’s the video that talks about the last 2 ways?
Hey lad, do you ever get speed wobbles going downhill? My (waterborne+standard truck) skateboard wobbles everytime i go down a slope
I've never experienced wobble on the waterborne surf and rail adapter. And i ride super loose, like really wiggly.
But maybe you were going really fast
Shane Lai maybe, thanks for the reply bro

Love your Videos , pls make more ❤️
Yep. more coming
Waterborne risers on roller skate trucks?
Not roller skate trucks, Penny board trucks
👌🏼⚡⚡👏🏼
is there any difference between speed check and snap? :)
Visually speaking, not always
Snap is more about throwing the tail
Speed check is more about sliding to reduce speed
@@shanelai2515 thank you, I get it:)
👑 🤙
Dude why the hell are you wearing a mask outside while you are skating?
This was filmed during a time when it was mandatory to wear a mask whenever you'd go outside
Does it hurt your knee?? I cant bend mu knee that low
No it doesn't hurt my knee. But it might be painful for some people.
Gotta do some strength and flexibility conditioning
But I have my own way to stop and it's drifting and it's pretty easy
Put wider trucks they are better for sliding
Yep true.
Watching this video after I ate shit today bombing a hill :)
Nice mask lol
💖💖💖💖💖💖👍
You are in Aussie land
I am mate 🤙
So basically there is no good way really :D
Quickest way to stop is to body .. prostrate yourselves to the concrete gods and hope they are merciful ; p
HAAAA HAAAA!!!!!!! ....wearing a mask while outside and alone.
Yeah right!? The sheeple will do and believe just about whatever they're told.
I get it was filmed two years ago…. But still…. Wearing a mask… outside… alone..? It was a great video but the mask kills the vibe.
You forgot the exercising part
I hate it when people wear things on their faces that have absolutely no impact on me whatsoever... lol get a life snowflake
Why no helmet or gloves? Boo
And the sixth way to stop, ...
. . . .
Throw your useless mask under your front wheels.
can people like y'all shut up and enjoy the video? who tf cares if he's wearing a mask or not
@@jetpack98 Because he's completely discrediting himself by doing so, ...thats why. LoL!!!!!!
@@jetpack98 I just bet you're one of those, that wear a mask alone in your Car, .. smh.
@@jetpack98 You should care. You should care a great deal. Based on the CDC's numbers, you have a better chance of dying from a lighting strike and even those numbers are skewed. This isn't about your safety and well being.
Wearing a muzzle while skating? Grow a pair!
Can’t you just slide out..it’s still so hard to watch a video of mask wear in outdoors what a scam that whole thing was
Riding with a face diaper on is cringeworthy
