I have both the Go 2 and 3 and as I really hate calling handsfree onna speaker (other than in the car) I don't miss the call feature as I always disable calls on the Bluetooth connection. But the sound of the 3 is way better than the 2. I overall like the 3 more than the 2. Also my 2 has a dent in the grill and the paint is going off on thas spot while the 3 is almost bullet proof
I went for the Go 2 as well. It looks more elegant, whereas the Go 3 is sporty. The gray version, which I got, reminds me of Bose or Apple design language. Plus I never use the loop, so the Go 3's permanent loop will annoy me 🙂. And I got it for $18 new.

3.5mm wired mode will help when the speaker runs out of juice. Not only after the battery is depleted but also after 2-3 years when it no longer holds a charge. I had to get rid of a pair of wireless headphones that I really liked after 3 years just because they didn't support wired mode and the battery no longer charged up.
A 3.5mm wire cannot charge a whole speaker. There is a built in usb c for that. Even if the battery becomes obsolete after few years the usb c cable can be used to power it all the time(making it non portable ofc). And yes there can be other use cases where a 3.5mm and a mic would be necessary in a speaker but if audio quality is the only focus the jbl go 3 is too good. I bought it a month back. :)
Thanks for the great review! Make me stick to my original JBL GO. It is crazy that such a long time passed and it is still the better choice cause it does not sound much worse than the GO 2 and I need the microphone as well as the headphone jack. JBL really outdid themselves with the first one.

The go 3 is way better looking. Ima be honest the go 2 looks like any of their cheap speaker. It looks like an anker, not thing special looking about it.
the speaker is perfect i bought it and i can say maybe it's the best speaker for that price tag and size also the design is awesome and the sound is premium quality, you have to listen to it live

Go 3 is much better, much more than 10% in sound quality and well worth a tenner more. The Anker is better still but can you clip that to your back pack or jeans?

Sir...you get 13 hours of battery life at 65% volume...while company is claiming only 5 hours? If it is giving 13 hours then its impressive.
