Having such fun with this vintage wagon and linen inspired slow stitch piece - with thanks to Rachel @roxycreations679 and Sarah @roxycreationsbysarah for hosting yet another fantastically fun project.
So loving seeing what everyone is creating. I hope this video provides fun and useful ideas for you to use in your own creations and projects.
I love repurposing vintage linen so it had been a joy through this project to solely use linens sourced from the op shops or charity stores or thrift stores in and around Alpine Victoria.

Your Hussif is looking very lovely, it's going to be a really special treasure, having the treasures you found on holiday and whatever project you are working on at the time! I really like those tapestry pockets! TFS 😊

I'm sure it is. I was starting to really enjoy stitching again but was hospitalized twice this month for dangerously low blood sugar and the second time, came home and had low results to the point that made me unbalanced and I fell and broke my stitching hand! There's also the possibility that I dislocated the area that they fixed before I had the hip fractures. I go back and see the hand specialist in two weeks and I'm hoping to get the cast off my wrist and boot off my broken foot too. Until then, I'm enjoying watching my friends do their craft.

Your housewife has all the bases covered! When I saw your magnet idea, I thought I must add one, so I sewed one into a tiny yo-yo and attached it to the front of my needle book. Thanks for yet another great idea.

Thanks so much - sometimes you think you have something figured out but the fabric or pieces have other ideas. I often find my ideas evolve too as I’m stitching - the process of thread passing through fabric and repetitive motion creates this wonderful stillness for pondering and creative ramblings.
Such ingenious ideas Christine, and all so pretty too, I shall definitely be making myself something like this - it's like a magical portable sewing room, love it! Re those little circular skirts for glasses you mentioned - funnily enough, I just got hold of some vintage magazines from the 1930s and one of them includes instruc tions to make them! You're with me in my craft room, where I am STILL clearing and tidying (4 days in now!) - can't wait to get it done so I can play again :)

I love your idea to use the folded over doily for a pin cushion. Wool to trap orts is another excellent idea. I think I'll be incorporating those into my huswif. 😊

Love all your ideas. I agree with the tapestry pocket. Mine is much smaller and will be minimalistic compared to yours but I think it’ll be a good size for on the go projects. 😊

That’s a heck of a project. So creative! I love your choices of fabrics and styles, and the loop for yarn is very clever.
Haha I always tend towards bigger than Ben Hurr! That’s why the texture projects have been good as I have gone smaller for those. Had too many lovely linens and pieces to use for this project and the table runner seemed to set the size. 😆Cheers, Christine

What a beautiful hussif. My dad taught me that version of the name when I was about 8 years old. He had a rather boring green one. ❤❤❤❤

Can you tell me more about the lace calendar 1991.
Hi Kristy - I found it at the op shop (charity/thrift store) in Beechworth in Alpine Victoria. It is a form of lace work. I’ve used it to cover the upper outside of my needle roll and then wrapped the extra width over to fork a pocket on the inside top of my needle roll. Cheers, Christine
