Thank you so much for this video!! PCM was previously replaced at dealer and they broke off the red tabs. Thanks to your explanation of unlocking with the red tab, I slid a small electrical screwdriver in that slot and was easily able to remove!!
Can I put a 2011 Silverado 5.3 computer in a 2007/08 5.3 Tahoe 5.3? I saw online and they fir under the same compatibility chart but I am curious if I will create myself a mess.
Hopefully, you figure it out if you have to program the ECM or not. Typically yes, they should be programmed for the year make and model you have; however, some of them if taken off a used vehicle and the model you have may only require a security relearn..
@@MaxTune Thank you for replying. I finally figured out it. It was the bcm, came from a junkyard yukon same year engine size, I did do the security relearn but now I have the service airbag light on and my radio is locked. Any idea how I can fix that the airbag light? I found a video on how to fix the radio so I'm good on that.
Painless and to the point !!! Thank you…👍👍👍

Thank you I could not figure those dang tabs out and I was afraid to break any plastic much appreciated.
What would cause the security light not to come on after installing new ECM?
Thank you!
Thank you so much 👍
Is the ecm located in the same spot in a 06 Chevy tahoe?

You’ll have issues
You’ll have to flash the stock firmware for your Tahoe on the Silverado’s computer. As long as they are the same model # ECMs.
Does the ecm have to be programed after replacing it? Thanks for any help
