As a punster, Drone Wilder was on my short list of channel names at one time. I think we discussed the low mass design at 135 grams does more to keep Neo alive than all the armor in the world. It is more likely to bounce than follow through to destruction, right? Right! Similar results all over the place. It almost can't Fly FAST ENOUGH to kamikaze itself. But you worked SO HARD at you self assigned task. Well done. DC Rainmaker crashed it some 150 times, I think, and... could not ill it!!! I think in non-manual mode (Normal, Sport Mode) it is essentially indestructible for all intents. Very Entertaining. I do wonder of a tempered glass lens protector may have saved the lens sacrificially - or the bracket bumper bars they sell.
Absolutely - bumper bars and something like a clip of uv filter should be able to protect the gimbal although I think the impact inertia may still rip it off it’s rubber supports (this is actually one of its biggest weak points. Great to hear you found it entertaining!
Hahahaha. I’m laughing so hard while watching you. Your face looks so frustrated already but the drone still keeps on working every time. Good job DJI!! Now i wont be scared for my neo bumping on a wall at low speed.😂
Ohhh, man... I was really impressed with this! I managed to buy a DJI mini 3 with just one battery so far. Here in Brazil, the dollar is so expensive... If it's not too much to ask, could you send me one of these as a gift? If the camera wasn't damaged, it could even be this one from the test... I would be very grateful if you could. I'm slowly trying to make real estate videos here for some real estate agencies and I would really like to learn FPV and add this service as well. I always watch videos of Avata 1 and 2 (dreams) but this Neo after your video left me speechless. I haven't found any videos of Neo for real estate presentations yet, but it must be good, right? A big hug and thanks for sharing these experiences!
My Neo crashed a wall 1 time at a slow velocity 1.2 meters above the floor. Result? Gimbal tilt and now the Neo is incapable of stabilization. Such a delicate drone.
That’s very unusual at slow speed. Is it possible that the gimbal detached from the rubber retainers? Can it be reattached? Otherwise might be worth contacting dji - if lucky they may even offer a warranty cover repair
Love your tests 👍😀 I touched a branch with my Neo when it was virtually stationary. It fell maybe 4 metres into a downward slope For some reason taht was enough to break something inside it so it rattled when I shook it. It complained about take off angle when it was level and gimbal overload. When these cleared and it took off it flew to tbe side and crashed! Not as indestructible as yours 😂
Wow, super impressive! Wonder what bystanders at the beach where thinking when you hit the wall each time you flew "home" 😅 I was on the fence about this drone, but looks like it can take any crash, probably because of its ligh weight and all plastic few moving parts design. I can only imagine this was exhausting to shoot. Great work. Great test.
Thanks just beware that I didn’t test crashes from different directions (for example side impacts) though these would be less likely and I’m sure it is still extremely durable even then. Thanks for the kind comments!
Hello friend.. I'm happy to have a literally indestructible drone.. brave!!!!! Congratulations on the video.. incredible and unique. I don't think even DJI did that.. lol. You earned a subscription and admiration.
Incredible! You should, however, pin a comment/disclaimer… even though you don’t see damage, you risk damaging the internals of the battery… if you left this unattended and charging it could cause a fire
@@davehudson5589 that’s a very good point. Ill look into adding a comment on this into my description for the video. Personally this drone is now decommissioned as far as my own use is concerned. Trusting your drone is important
@@dronewilder5234 well thanks to you I am very impressed by that little drone. I will be using it in weddings so I am sure it will take a lot more than a crash in case of an accident.
@@pedromoreno6836 absolutely - you’d have to be extremely unlucky for it to break from a slow paced shot at a wedding. The low weight also makes it brilliant for mitigation of risk to people.
This wasn't YOU Challenging Neo. Nossir. Nope! Neo was challenging YOU, plain and simple. You did well. You didn't break. Not break down. Very good sir! They DO make a camera guard, metal "U" shaped bit, that I have AVOIDED on Avata 2 with reports that it can potentially course worse damage in some crash scenarios. On NEO? I think I may try a bumper bar, strictly because of the deformation you illustrated with yours. Bit of a crap shoot, but that's how I am rolling.
It definitely beat me- just look at the state of me and my trousers at the end!! Yeah I’d say if you use the neo in situations which risk a lot of crashes then the guard could be worth it - otherwise I’d save as much weight as possible.
Well, that was impressive. I've panicked when mines hit a tree in follow mode, lol I guess I can stop worrying now, lol. I bet a lot of people won't be using the dji care refresh on this one. Maybe they should do a mini 5 with that protection 😂😂 thanks for sharing 😁 👌 👍 🇬🇧
I really feel care refresh is a no brainer must have though for this one. It’s super cheap (19 quid) and replacements are £16 for a replacement. As much as it’s unlikely to break during crashes- you are then also covered for fly aways and water damage (which as I’ve shown WILL kill it!). Thanks for watching!
I am more than glad to find a video as yours. Can't wait to unbox mine today. :) What I see as a next topics: Altitude TEST in Manual mode with DJI NEO. :) What kind of an end VIDEO you can really achieve with DJI EVO camera. So Color grading... :) So what then, do you recommend any additional safety guards for this drone? what can it be a an upgrade to this little fellow? How is it with adding a camera lens protector?
Thanks - some good ideas there - I did a bit of an attempt at colour grading in one of my other recent videos so be fun to explore that a bit more. For the altitude test I’d have to get my anonymous friend involved again 😂. I’d certainly recommend protectors if you are taking a lot of high speed risks or flying close to hard objects but otherwise I’d say the saving in weight advantage outweighs the benifit of a protector
Near the end of your torture tests, I was beginning to feel sorry for the "ol' fellow". When it crashed into the wall at 45 km/h, I clenched my teeth, tightly closed my eyes and almost missed a heart beat.

for as much as I've seen people trying to shit on the neo, it really seems to be crazy good for what it is. A little better camera and it would be really tough to beat. Think it would hold up to the weight of a small go pro, 360 cam or something?
@@tbeiber09 maybe a stripped down naked GoPro at a push or something that weight but tbh I would recommend against it as this drone simply doesn’t have much power. Refresh time what a fantastic video well edited and produced I hope DJI are watching tester needed.
Thank you so much!
Now, that's what you call quality. 👏
That drone should be a keeper now.
Battle tested.👍🏽👏 Bravo Neo!
Great video i love this little drone, for all its little imperfections i cant wait for the neo 2 and what that would bring fantastic video mate 👍
very impressive video. thanks, now i have some less fear of breaking it, since every stuff else in rc/models breaks VERY fast usually. cool video!
Thanks for watching!
Hahahaha. I’m laughing so hard while watching you. Your face looks so frustrated already but the drone still keeps on working every time. Good job DJI!! Now i wont be scared for my neo bumping on a wall at low speed.😂
Yeah at low speeds you should be fine 🙂
This is GREAT content 👏 👏👏 I'm impressed at the robustness.
@@BrandonBeans thank you!
This shhould get a million views already, amazing torture test, thank you
Thank you very much for watching!
A big hug and thanks for sharing these experiences!
this is insane. I just bought it but didn't plan to do torture the the NEO. It's worth it
I am a big fan of durability test. Well done. Subbed! hahaha love it.
@@JeremyToh amazing thank you!
Great video, took mine for my first flight today, was worried about the durability but now I am not :)
I am definitely here because of the trigger ⚠️ warnings ... Now time for popcorn 🍿😀
@@mtmccornack 😂😂
You are the real master!!
@@twin3333 thanks! 🙂
What a brilliant video. Loved this so much ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
@@tonywright3051 thanks - glad you enjoyed it!
That’s a tough little beastie that’s for sure.
Astonishingly tough!
Terrific video!! Amazing drone!
Dji King of the drone very impressive quality 👍
This is my dream come true durability test , thanks
You’re welcome
Love your tests 👍😀
I touched a branch with my Neo when it was virtually stationary. It fell maybe 4 metres into a downward slope
For some reason taht was enough to break something inside it so it rattled when I shook it. It complained about take off angle when it was level and gimbal overload. When these cleared and it took off it flew to tbe side and crashed!
Not as indestructible as yours 😂
Wow, super impressive! Wonder what bystanders at the beach where thinking when you hit the wall each time you flew "home" 😅
I was on the fence about this drone, but looks like it can take any crash, probably because of its ligh weight and all plastic few moving parts design.
Thats amazing thanks for your sub and your support!
Mate you definitely gotta your self a new subscriber. Incredible, can you tell me the name of the goggles? Have a good one, Max
@@MaxPhotoGraphic thanks - great to have your sub! The goggles are the Dji Goggles3
A gladiator indeed ... and an honorable call on your part conceding defeat.
It felt like the decent thing to do 😂
Insane performance for $200!!! great product!
Absolutely
@@davehudson5589 great point on the explodable battery
Great video! Now I can take more chances!
awesome video sir! thanks for this great review! i'm waiting for my neo combo package in our local store, i hope it arrives soon
Hope you enjoy it!
LOL... this is great !!!! Mine it will arrive this friday...
@@pedromoreno6836 Great - please treat yours better than I did mine 😜
@dronewilder5234 definitely i took 2 years with mine as it was so cheap 😁
One footstum from a big man like you...... yet sturdy lil drone!
The drone nearly broke me! 😜😂
I am more than glad to find a video as yours. Can't wait to unbox mine
today. :)
What I see as a next topics:
Altitude TEST in Manual mode with DJI NEO. :)
What kind of an end VIDEO you can really achieve with DJI EVO camera. So Color grading... :)
So what then, do you recommend any additional safety guards for this drone? what can it be a an upgrade to this little fellow? How is it with adding a camera lens protector?
Thanks - some good ideas there - I did a bit of an attempt at colour grading in one of my other recent videos so be fun to explore that a bit more. For the altitude test I’d have to get my anonymous friend involved again 😂. I’d certainly recommend protectors if you are taking a lot of high speed risks or flying close to hard objects but otherwise I’d say the saving in weight advantage outweighs the benifit of a protector
That was amazing! thank you for the sacrifice for test purposes! deserved a like and subscribe
Thank you very much for the sub and welcome to the channel!
Near the end of your torture tests, I was beginning to feel sorry for the "ol' fellow". When it crashed into the wall at 45 km/h, I clenched my teeth, tightly closed my eyes and almost missed a heart beat.
@@KamranDodhy I think a lot of us were rooting for him at this point - I feel like an evil villain! What’s worse there is one more video to come - he’s yet to undergo another trial and this one is worse!
Awesome neo and care refresh an awesome team !
Excellent vid and they are now sold out on dji site here in us even though they will not be released until Oct 19th 😂
@@IcelandAdventures im sure there will be more than we all wish for whizzing around by December 25th! 😂
deserve million views.
That would be amazing but I would be grateful for just a fraction of that 😂
I bought the Neo after watching your video. First flight and it broke into pieces. I’m shattered with it. 😔
@@devendragurav4392 how did you crash it? Do you have care refresh? Is it still within 48 hrs of initial activation?
@@devendragurav4392 if you only activated it 48hrs ago - add care refresh (you can add it in that time even if you’ve crashed already). Then a replacement drone will be cheap. It’s £16 for a care refresh replacement here in the uk. I did damage the rubber camera holders quite early on as shown in the video. Whole I say the drone can take a fair few hits - it won’t stay pristine after many. It still takes more abuse than any other dji drones I know though
Little Neo Survived ! ! ! IMPRESSIVE ! ! ! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

@@Agent_Semith thank you!
Thank you for this break test as I'm going to purchase this tiny drone
Glad you found it useful!
@@dronewilder5234 Yes, it's really useful 🤝🏻
HA... loved your disclaimer, and while I do experience some discomfort with drones being assaulted and physically abused, I can take it given your goal here :)
@@MicheIIePucca if showed what an incredible strength vs inertia ratio the drone has!
@@dronewilder5234 for sure. I bumped mine into a steel pole, and it survived the crash fine. I'm convinced the NEO is a great drone for gaining confidence on using the controller, getting used to the joysticks enough so much of what you do comes naturally, before moving on to the Mini 2 (which I have), 3 or 4 pro (which I want to get).
That NEO is going to get payback on you when you enter *The Matrix*! 😂 Thank you for the video, and at least have that youngster assisting you wear at least eye protection next time.
@@DrRevKing fair point about the eye protection - can’t do much more damage to his head though tbh 😜😂.
Incredible, unsure if me taking out refresh was needed 😂
It’s always a good idea - this particular drone, while it survived, won’t be winning beauty contests of capturing gorgeous footage anymore after its abuse after all
It was painful to watch 🥺 but thank you 😅❤
I'm watching my mailbox for mine!! Thanks for the video.
@@DesertCharleyVideos fingers crossed yours turns up soon!
At least get your human subject to wear safety glasses if you plan to fly the drone at 25 km/hr into him as a precaution. But its good to know that the Neo is durable. Very impressive tests.
Thank you - I’ll get him to wear safety glasses for the Inspire 3 tests 😜😂
Incredible video. I'm only mad that someone can go through 2 of them while Americans still have to wait another 2 weeks to get their first one. Poor planning, DJI, but looks like a good build
Yeah sorry that really must be annoying to watch. Really hope you get yours soon! I’ll try not to break any more of them 😜
@@dronewilder5234 I'm much more excited to receive it now that you're down what a tank it is. It's obvious that as hard as it was to watch, it was equally unnerving for you to purposely wreck it. It looks like that would be good immersion therapy for pilots who regret not being more adventurous in their flying. You're probably much more confident shooting small gaps at speed than you were before this experiment. Thank you for your service.
@@FlightClubProductions absolutely - I feel this is what this drone is best for - shooting small gaps - taking risks, close proximity, near misses - all the kind of stuff that looks epic on camera but without risking an expensive $1000+ drone. Thanks again for watching and I hope you enjoy yours a lot!
The legend says that 43 DJI Neo drones were used to film the clip 😂
@@transylvanianriderhaha I don’t have the money for that kind of legend 😂😜. Just one drone was all I destroyed in this video
thanks a lot fopr this video....
is this video of just one neo??
or multiple neos??
@@APkiDuniyaall crash tests where done on just one single Neo in exactly the order shown. I did have a second Neo which was exclusively used for some B roll shots (it’s a friends and I don’t think he would have liked me crashing his drone!)
@@dronewilder5234 hahahaha thats amazing. dope videooo
you are exhausted.. :D I am glad just ordered this drone to shoot some shots.. not like professionally, but still.
@@iammz81I was exhausted - had to climb up half a cliff to retrieve it! Its definitely nowhere near professional quality video but you can fly it in places you’d never dare risks a larger more expensive drone and that’s what makes it so special
@@dronewilder5234 it should at least shoot decent videos in daylight with ND filter I assume. With a bit of colorgrading.
@@iammz81 in good lighting this produces lovely videos.
@@dronewilder5234 I really do hope so.. when I am traveling I want to do some videos of the places with my camera and with the Neo to make them a bit more interesting.
BTW can I for example have this hover around any subject? Like a parking car or a building, do the same as with a human?
@@iammz81 at the moment I believe the active track only works for humans but here’s one trick - if you do a circle mode, it won’t track a subject, it’ll just track the subject centre point and fly a circle around that coordinate - even if the subject has moved or for example stepped into a car 😜
Very interesting video My friend. So what is the capable maximum speed with goggles?
@@ArchiNex-eng I did another video on this recently but the maximum speed with a tail wind can reach 72km/h

Best comment ever! 🙂🙂
A tree and a brick wall are almost as hard as each other. Just ask cars that hit trees, the tree always wins!
@@gregb1599 you’re probably right 😂. Brick walls where a bit easier to aim at though 😜
@dronewilder5234 So true, I was not trying to be negative. Your testing was great. Today, I managed to break two props on my Neo, and all I hit was a blanket on the back of the chair moving at most 1kph! To be fair, I think it got caught on a loose thread, but it completely destroyed one prop and damaged another!
Enjoyed the collision test involving individuals. They could consider adding a drone category, weighing under 150g, which seems to be quite harmless.
Yes it sort of sits in the same category as the sub 250g C0 drones although as you say arguable this is significantly even less risk - maybe a C-1 category needs to be established 😂.
Top class 👍 thanks for the test

@@dwightlee4315 brilliant choice for a first drone
@@dronewilder5234 Just tired it out this morning... it works great :D
for as much as I've seen people trying to shit on the neo, it really seems to be crazy good for what it is.
Controlled indoor flying would probably be ok but outdoors if it has to stabilised against a gust of wind, it could really struggle with extra weight. Agree with you that with a slightly better camera this would be an absolute beast but I’m happy to make do with it as it is for now. People get too hung up about camera quality when this drone has so many other unique qualities.
"WOW" Now I will defiantly be buying one.....Awesome Video review.
