I saw the Dead for the first time at the "Syndrome," Chicago, November 1970: the Dead played for around 3 to 4 hours, an "Electric Cool Aid Concert," I had transcended on mescaline---"Far Out" Concert! The Dead had played on a flat-bed truck, known to do in the Old Days before the Stadium trip.

Thanks for linking John's blog at the beginning and end of each video description. It's a valuable reference and educational tool for both fledgling fans just getting into the band and tiedyed and true inveterate Deadheads alike. What I like best are compilations like these that break down the Dead's live evolution with well edited examples of their approach to shows given a particular/month year, making for easy comparative analysis and a way to appreciate large swathes of the band's career without having to comb through the LMA or other aggregate sources on ones own. John's writeups on his blog are excellent and the effort it took to edit and compile all that music does not go unnoticed. Thanks to all parties involved.
Could not have said it better myself Daniel! One of the coolest things about the Deadhead community is the all of the fan-generated content and research. So much great work has been done with no motivation beyond a love for the music and an interesting idea to share.
Hey Graphite, yeah this one is cool right? The art I use on the Save Your Face mixes is whatever John puts on his blog post for the mix. He usually lists the artwork attribution on his site, looks like this one is by Victor Moscoso.
LOL I guess I don't consider using the art to be "cheating" any more than using the Dead's music is cheating. It would only be cheating if I were trying to make money off it, in my opinion anyway.
I have to say, they were ontop of their game 89 - 92...good run of great shows IMO.
