Hey @Kris my sweet friend! Will you do me a favor? I have been wanting to tell/ask you to try and stream the Dead Hour from 8-9 (only GD) and then 9-1am it’s Dead Air and they play mainly Dead mixed in with Phish, Panic, Allman Bros, Meters, JGB, Dylan, and any other great band in the jam band family. It’s a local radio station here in Western NC but people stream it from all over. Try it one Wednesday. Like tonight! www.wncw.org/listen-live I’ve tuned in for decades. Heck I use to record every week on tape. If you get bored give it a try! Think you’d love it! 😀
@@krissantos6624 well darn. I appreciate you trying as I know you’d like. Maybe give it one more shot. www.wncw.org/listen-live Hope it works! 😀 OH and then you have to hit LISTEN ! 🙏🏽come on baby work!
Thought I'd take a minute and eulogize Howard Wales, who Jerry called his favorite collaborator. Main reason is he lived in my area growing up. Howard was in a group called the Bonnevilles around 1960 and were popular in the Milwaukee area releasing a few singles that were regional hits, one with national distribution. Like many of the good local artists he and his band A.B.Skhy headed to the promised land in the late 60's at the recommendation from another Milwaukeean Steve Miller who was doing well in San Francisco by then. A.B. Skhy released a couple of albums and a single for MGM before breaking up. Drummer Rick Jeager joined Dave Mason, guitarist Curley Cooke worked with Steve Miller. Howard ran into Jerry at some of the Jam Sessions at the Matrix and Jerry was impressed with Howard because his experimental style was unlike any other keyboardist he had worked with. This led to Howard contributing to American Beauty and Workingman's Dead and of course the Hooteroll album with Jerry. He actually auditioned to be the permanent keyboardist for the Grateful Dead, but the other members didn't think his style was compatible with the band. He remained active until a few years ago with session work and solo projects. Howard passed away two days ago
