An overview of Pro Tools 9, from OBEDIA. We broke the details of it first on twitter, and now we're showing you the coolest new features of Pro Tools 9!
@Minus31 Sure, check out our other tutorials for protools help, or even better, call us at 1.855.553.7205 to work one on one and really speed up the process :)
@nzo41x either way. you can record a dry signal and add FX afterward, or you can record your pedals and such and have an effected signal.
@JosephCee Sure. Just remember that it's not the software, but the user taking the time to learn it.
@ROBERTOSIERVODEDIOS NO worries! Try reinstalling protools - see if there are any updates to it - and see if that helps!
@guitxmaster11 sure! But you'll need a guitar amp simulator, which Protools 9 doesn't have bundled with it.
@LastDayStudios This is a faculty called record "what you hear". Your soundcard needs to be compatible with this on windows in order to do it. Otherwise, it requires some virtual routing in order to make it work.
@LuiShuffle yeah, for digital audio production/recording.
@thundavolt That's true, but Logic is the only DAW that does that. It's up to the developer to absorb it or not.
of course! let me know if you need any help!
@HeyGenius The HD version has more tracks, mostly. You should be able to find discounted pricing in many places.
@strat002 Nope - not anymore. With the Avid purchase, eucontrol on the PC is on its way.
@EricAntonik You still need an iLok. Only works on win7.
@MiseurPrince PT comes with some loops, although not as many as some other DAWs. You might want to look at Sonar, garageband, or fruity loops.
@manoharcruise pro tools and music production is many year undertaking. There is a manual, yes, and many books and video resources. You can always work with us for some help. Call us at 1.855.553.7205 to work one on one.
@faka1993 Not really. Many, many users are on windows, myself included. The OS doesn't matter, it's the knowledge of the user that does.
@queerp Vista isn't supported, but I've seen it working.
@KaeseAtze like the file handling? I would say Ableton is still pretty great, but pt9 steps up to the plate well.
@Eliteguitarschool That's barely hardware; hardware is audio I/O hardware like the mbox, which you don't need anymore.
Protools will likely always need an iLok.
@strat002 yeah. This is upcoming!
@ObediaTutor thank you very much!
@YoungKooMusic Yup.
@djrolando83 Remixing can be pretty complex, but I'll have some tutorials to help you with this over time.
@kcchrist That is a track by me, brian. My stage name is brian botkiller, I can't post links here, but google brian botkiller, and you'll find me.
Thanks! Glad you like it!
@MonkeysfromH it is steep, but if you like it, it's not that bad!
Have you guys seen the Windows 7 equipped StudioBLADE keyboard workstation from Music Computing. Its perfect for running protools!
@TooRecords mpowered still requires maudio hardware.
@amanii3000 it's very good. check our other videos for an overview of using TCE in pt9.
Yup, it would allow you to do all of that. Best of luck to you! If you get it and need help, call us at 1.855.553.7205
your video was very informative im looking to get protool and run it with reason record i have can you tell me how is the time stretching function.
@MegaGT93 Winxp isn't supported. Have at least 4gb RAM.
Pro Tools 9 is definitly MUCH easier to install and its nice getting the iLok included with the boxed copy. We just installed a copy on one of our StudioBLADE keyboard workstations. It runs wonderfully with the presonus Fire Studio. I cant believe it took this long to stop tethering it to a specific audio interface. check our channel for vids!
hi man,i need to ask you one thing,is this makin' any chords progressions like Harmony Navigator or liquid notes?
@SIMONDUKEN winxp isn't supported. I don't believe it will work on XP.
@soulessdelu The maudio hardware should work just fine.
@ObediaTutor The point being if Avid really want to make a difference to what Protools was doing they need to keep up with Logic. I use Logic more out of convenience but I like protools I wish it didn't have so many issues but maybe in a way they are being more realistic about computing power limitations. They should come up with real solutions with ease of use. If people are not willing to go through some setup requirements they should use Garage Band but Avid shouldn't be pretenders either.
Can you mix an acapella from one artist and put it on an instrumental from another?Also can you speed up and slow down the acapella? (the slower it got the deeper the voice, the faster it got the higher the voice goes)
@emmetwhitey Yes, definitely!
@realtv1982 It's not too complex, you can call us to help make it more simple :)
So you don't need the USB iLok key? Also, it only runs on Windows 7 and not XP or Vista correct?
@2RealToBe There is not one. Protools requires an ilok.
@ObediaTutor I really appreciate it bro
Ordering PT tomorrow...onlu DAW i worked with was Adobe Auditon and FL Studio...on PT i wanna record my yamaha mox keyboard to make beats and compose...can ya help guide me?...also i heard this does audio quantize...
i know pro tools 9 doesnt require any hardware but would it still help? like if you had a decent interface.
I got a stupid question. I'm a protools newbie. What does hardware independent mean. I have an HP laptop and my sound card is built in the motherboard. Am I gonna have to have another sound card. What about a M-Audio interface, do I need that too? Now, whats the difference between PT 9 and PT SE? Do I need a keyboard to plug into that interface? Help
@ObediaTutor ...word, but it's just sooo AWESOME :D
@sokismusic Should work fine!
am studying B.A [mass comm&journalism] our lecturer is teaching us this pro tools 9.am feeling this little bit hard... is there any manual for this..hw much time does it take 2 learn whole pro..........
mostly. a little less features, but still has the power.
@ObediaTutor I use protools 8.05>>I would love if you made a tutorial about this>>there are NO tuts on how to accomplish this in protools in google, TH-cam, Or anywhere that ive searched...thats why its mad frustrating because everyone on youtube has a Screen recorded tutorial but no-one has a vid on how to accomplish that.
Hi , I would like to see how it works midi on pro tools 9 , I wanna see how a synth plugin runs with midi ! I wanna you to show us differences between editing midi on pro tools 9 and Logic Pro !!! I really wanna see this !!! Please make a video as elaborated as possible ! I'm asking you that I like this video that you did now and also I'm coming new in Pro Tools !
HOW do you Record your screen in Protools "Cam Studio"? Ive been having problems with this...I use Cam studio..I can record anything else through my PCI card, but dont cant get audio when I try to record tutorials.
@ObediaTutor Logic only needs to improve on the features the customers demanded. Protools still has to develop them and then improve them. This is a before they forget we exist release. I will be buying it but I would rather they thought things through more. Don't get me wrong on this Apple have their own software releases that are laking for other products in the very same way and they are hoping the industry standard tag will save them. People just don't want hassle and this stil has it.
im getting pro tool 9 MP ... was wondering if its the same as this?
For Protools? You need to purchase it.
thanks for the reply pretty sure it will be a good buy then
@faka1993 Pro Tools 9 requires an Intel based Mac. It will not work on your Power PC G5.
Hi, great video, my name is Roberto i have a question, im running pro tools 9 in MAC when i want to choose a loop from my computer i go to workspace and find them but then Pro tools closes and i don't know why.
Can you help me please?
Sorry for my English, I speak spanish.
bye
musicians friend has pro tools 9 for 100 bucks imreally thinking about gettin it. i spend tons of time playing guitar and in an apartment i cant have drums so i can use this for putting together bass and drum parts with ease
so is this a producer program like fl studio or what?
Will the protools 8 work to bro?
what about line6 ux8 , it will works right?
Hey what's the different between Pro Tools 9 Software and Pro Tools MP 9?
@coopmuch56 You can do all these things in Protools. Protools has a time stretching engine in it that will stretch a piece of audio without speeding up the tempo of it. You can then drop loops over the stretched audio.
Call us if you want help with this. 1-866-847-4586
Hi, grat video, my name is Roberto i have a question, im running pro tools 9 in MAC when i want to choose a loop from my computer i go to workspace and find them but then Pro tools closes and i don't know why.

if i upgraded how do i get it to recognize my ilok from previous PT version? PC based
can you plug in your guitar ?
man may i ask you a question??works on windows xp?
@gmotif6 You should have gotten a license for PT9 in your ilok account. Login to ilok.com and update your ilok.
I use reason 6 , and a mpk88 for just about everything anymore. I will upgrade to pro t 9 but really don't see a need any more.
does it works on windows xp?and how much ram needs to run?please reply :)
does this work on vista?
@MisterBankz it certainly can be, but we can help you with it! please call us at 1-855-553-7205 to get help with this.
@LastDayStudios Yeah, I can understand that. I can help you out. Call me, and let's talk. 1.855.553.7205. I'll give you some free time to work with me!
@sahlertz8 "the best" is dependent on what YOU like ;)
Hey will protools 9 work on a hp windows vista
@MisterBankz I did too. But know I'm using it and love it :) You should check it out.
Hi, please keep your sales pitches to your own channel, thanks.
hi thanks for the tutorial can u please make a video "how to make a remix song on pro tools 9" thanks i really appreciate it I'm just staring and i don't how to use it thanks again
@thundavolt Well, true, in ways, but there's no incentive for them to "keep up" with logic. In reality, Logic has to keep up with Protools, in terms of the amount of users.
Iloc required That's "hardware" RIGHT?
@ObediaTutor oh? sick!
how can i get a activation code?
@musiccomputing It is much easier. I like it a lot!
euphonics is for MAC only
thanks bro
@emmetwhitey Pro Tools 9 Only with win 7 or higher!
nice bru
sure! you can skype me at obedia_skype , or email brian at obedia dot com.
pro tools hardware has no lag ... i used to think my m-audio hardware had no lag because its so small ... but it does ... now people will never know .. sad
hmm, not sure what those are, but you could call me to talk about them. 1.855.553.7205

ILOC REQUIRED THATS HARDWARE.
*euphonix
@ButterflyColoursAV I sent you a message, let's work together!
/brian
@LuiShuffle Besides Protools is the best! :)
HAHA I bet so many HD users are so pissed off about this update, especially if they've only recently bought the kit!
@herecomesicknesss We don't crack software. Support the people who develop software; they deserve to eat just like musicians do.
Call us at 323.319.4051
prikitiu...
this is so lame. Logic you can bounce a wav and instantly get an mp3 if you want that. Protools is still either or. This is like an iPhone trying to claim the invention of mobile phones.
