It's not the "rhythm" but the "TEMPO" that changes at 4:00. Many folk get confused over the two. Rhythm has to do with the breakdown of various beats within a bar that is managed by linear time, whilst tempo has to do solely with linear time that can accelerate or decelerate or remain static. This affects rhythm but it remains a constant until it's changed. Rhythm is affected but not governed by linear time because the breakdown of rhythm never changes. I think this confusion arises from "rhythm guitar" or "rhythm section" but they're merely traditional terms attributed to drums who was usually responsible for the tempo but not how the guitar would play his crotchets, quavers etc. Hope this helps!
THANK YOU for this introductory video!!! So many other Pro Tools videos expect you to be a racecar driver already when you don't yet know which pedal is gas and which is brake...
I am an experienced DAW user using Reason, Logic, Ableton, FL, GarageBand, and now happily staying w/ Reaper, but being that I want to pivot from my current day job into something more into my skills’ field (audio), one quickly learns that ProTools is still required - at least working knowledge. So, thank you for this!!
Currently watching this as a crash course coz I have a practical exam in my audio subject... But watching this makes me wanna switch from Ableton to Pro Tools. I feel like I could maximize my potential in audio engineering and production with Pro Tools. Thanks for this tutorial!
That's a nice getting started guide. I need to mention though that you shouldn't set the track's output to your speaker outs, but to the mix bus. If you're not hearing anything, you should just set the mix bus's out to your speaker outs.
I’m a beginner and I’m having issue of not hearing anything when I inserted .WAV stereo track. I tried selecting track’s output to Bus1-2. Not able to figure how to set bus output to speakers. I’m stuck, please help. Thank you 😊
There’s no reason you should have to manually create a metronome track lmao…pro tools is literally the standard because it got there before other programs could fully developed lol
Hello from Dublin, I hope you are well I hooked up my Bass Guitar to my new SSL12 Audio Interface today and connected it to my DAW (pro tools artist) and monitored it via Headphones. Unusually, while the Bass tone sounded really great on my headphones prior to hitting “record” on my DAW, once I actually started recording, the Bass Tone changed significantly and emanated a very “hollow” sounding tone. Even more unusually, I went ahead and recorded anyway, and during subsequent playback, the tone sounded great again, exactly as it did prior to the recording. So I’m wondering, why does the SSL12 tone that I’m hearing in my headphones reduce in quality, once I engage the record switch on my Pro Tools Artist DAW? Thanks for reading Cheers Niall 🎸
Looking at Avid I was lost but pretty much everything I know from Logic translates over. I just need to find the buttons for everything. I'm also studying audio in college! And I'm fanatic!
Same. Adderal XR x changed everything. The instants were too inconsistent. I’m having 5 out 7 productive days in a week. Where as the instant felt like playing “ whack a mole” and maybe 2 days of productivity. And rage fits. XR is the way to go. No crashes. No dips. Not speedy either. Just right. For me.
There is also a dedicated midi edit window not covered here it’s selection allows much more real estate and tools to work of midi data completely independent of the edit or mix windows Simply double click a midi track to open it
With Pro Tools Artist, is there only one type of interface you can use ? I am having trouble getting it to work, also it says to plug in dongle even though I purchased a digital one, do I still need to purchase a physical one ? Cheers to any advice 👌
I bought an m audio interface last year, and only this morning I read on the box that pro tools is "included" but how do I get it, when on the website they direct me to says that Pro tools is discontinued?

For some reason my screen is cut off . So on the top where it shows the click track audio it’s cut off as if it doesn’t fit the screen. And there doesn’t seem to be away to slide it over or make it fit . No answers anywhere can someone help?
Why dose my dashboard panel doesn’t have the create button I’m in a pro tools subscription so I don’t get it making wanna move to another daw when I really don’t wanna can someone pls help thanks
The very last thing you said in this video I don't think is true. When I drag select part of a single track, it still bounces all of the tracks in that area, unless there's a secret I don't know of?
awesome - so once again, another "tutorial video" that doesn't help a beginner out on even finding the record button after 13 minutes - super helpful...

As an Fl user, i hate the way pro tools looks. Yes it might have powerful tools but this is 2024, why does it look like one of the first ever programs for computer
I love it because it is simple and sleek. Designed to be easy on the eyes to look at for long periods of time… and it’s not complicated looking so it’s easy to navigate unlike FL studio… Mind you I started making beats on FL studio, yes it “looks cool”. Like a video game but the recording quality was trash🚮🚮 It’s better to focus on the quality and ability of a DAW more than how it looks😂 I also switched to making beats on Ableton Live and I hated how it looked but thankfully I didn’t let it stop me from using it because it’s the best production software I ever used and I experimented with everything!!!😂😂
I could not watch BECAUSE = the voice-over sound mix cutting off the beginning of words is just silly in a video of a DAW = I'm sure the info was all good ... but I got to about 0:49 seconds - Am I the only one who hears this? There are interfaces which are "HD Compatible" that works the best with Pro Tools. Most interfaces do work with ProTools but there are some that dont.

Every time i launch Pro Tools, all of my plugins need to be scanned individually - and this takes forever. Is this normal?
Where can you find samples clips for free?
Anywhere on the internet which applies 'Creative Commons' license.
For some reason I don’t have the i/o section in my pro tools. I have the free version of pro tools and that might be the problem but I’m not sure.
This is not a problem. It is simply hidden. Show all options, it will come out.
