Hopefully having all 3 days of this event in one feature-length film will help you enjoy the viewing experience even more :) Thanks for watching everyone! Jamie
This is great, showing me what my son does to. I haven't watched him fish for ages, maybe i should pop down and see what he does, he posts alot on Facebook and does really well..he's in the comments Daniel Rose, I'm his dad, but i do archery lol.
Have lived in Australia for last 30 years, but your brilliant show brought back wonderful memories of match fishing on the Trent. I too made a mistake of fishing the wrong peg, at least I disqualified myself having realised in the weigh in I was fishing 21 instead of 20. My son was amazed how I could describe all your set ups. I mainly do beach fishing now, I love it too, some of my feeder fishing skills help out. You have Best Match fishing show on the tube keep up the good work. Cheers
Oh Andy thanks for the great feed back and watching my channel it's hugely appreciated! The fishing out there is so different isn't it but it's nice to hear you have fond memories of the Trent :):):)
@CatchFishingChannel Just moved to Melbourne and am going to take my son carp fishing, love the concept of those method feeders. I will go on line and get some from UK. Only problem is that you have to kill all the Carp you catch here as they are classed as vermin, not sure my course fishing experience will let me do that. Apparently as they are not a native fish they silt up the rivers and lakes here. Anyway those method feeders may work well for surf fishing. Good luck in your winter match fishing ventures. When my Son and I are in the UK next, we would love to sit behind you and watch have a coffee with your Dad, get my son to do some bank running Lol! Andy
Really nice to see a video, with some normal weights being caught, average river weights, 15-20lb..... None of those 900lb plus nets in 4 hours.... Great video, there should be soooo many more of these natural river matches going on..... Good job..
My son is a fisherman, and very good, has some great equipment and takes it very seriously. Infact I've already seen his comment lol..I'm not a fisherman, i do archery, but my family all do some kind of sport, golf, skittles, and fishing. Really cool video, especially for someone who doesn't fish but really supports my son in fishing, so saw he posted this on fb, so giving it a watch to see what my son does to, because he competes at his local club.
Chrs jamie a great set of videos, gutted for ya after day 1 with a let's say technical error, but shows your caliber as a past champion to get your head down, and finish the festival with couple of good results. We'll done
Great video....am confused tho?.....those bigger skimmers and possibly slabs were in your swim from the third cast.....surprised you didn't try corn tipped worm ??....a classic sort the better stamp of fish out combo ....never failed me 🙂👍
@@CatchFishingChannel .....should always keep your options open ......I've been in that position before......that golden bait ..with tail of worm worked for me more than once mate........may nxt time go for bigger hook bait ...those bigger fish were definitely their for the start .
Great vid Jamie brings back some great memories from 30 +years ago when I used fish similar and get 30 / 40 lb of skimmers in a session the Trent is a fabulous river and I miss it greatly, btw you did fantastically well bad luck on that first day
I guess the organisers could have made the pegging a bit clearer in order to avoid such an error being even possible. Yes it’s down to the angler at the end of the day but if you were someone who’d not fished there before it’d be an all too easy mistake
With you fishing the wrong peg on day one where was the angler that should have legitimately been in that swim on the first day? If he had turned up your mistake would have been spotted before the match started.
As no other angler turned up to fish that peg, your weight should have stood plus points. Personally, I think the organizer is just being an arsehole. Genuine mistake by you.
What a shame on day one, and why didn't someone spot that you were in the wrong place, you could of been the winner DOH!!!!!, Thank you Jamie bad luck ,,

Thought it showed your nature and willingness to not quit after the mistaken peg. Brilliant film and what a competitor 👏👏
Haha thanks Stephen mate :)
Lots of kudos watching your no nonsense vids buddy!
Brilliant video. Such a shame about day one. Pleased you carried on and enjoyed the next two days.

Thanks Mark and thanks for watching!
Why did you not try the waggled slightly overdepth
Is there a festival this year Jamie?
Yes mate it’s at the end of August over the bank holiday 👍

I just felt at the time that that was a bit too selective if that makes sense Nigel

Hahaha I always double check now Phil haha
Forgive the ignorance, is there a no pellet rule in these matches?
Quality jamie
Thanks Mike!

Oh no unfortunately the peg had been left out of the match for some reason so that's why it was spotted I'm afraid lol
As no other angler turned up to fish that peg, your weight should have stood plus points. Personally, I think the organizer is just being an arsehole. Genuine mistake by you.

Hahaha thanks James mate
I would seriously have told the organisers to FK off pal… but that’s me….
