dont push yourself to hard dude, getting back into the musical swing of thing takes time. Its took me a year to get back to myself and i still mistakes all the time. Just breathe and keep going
It may not be the most perfect or the most beautiful rendition of the song, but it's raw and it's real. That's what I watch Jazza's content for. That's what I watch him for. He's a real human being and his genuineness shines through; you can feel it. I strive to be just as authentically myself as he is.
@@TheAngelArrow talent didn't do it all fro him, of course, but talent is still a thing, there are people more capable and less capable of certain activities, like if you take two kids and make them draw something one will definitely be better
@@TheAngelArrow I don't think talent is necessarily saying that something came naturally. Saying someone is gifted in something would imply they were a natural genius in something but I think most talent worth speaking of is a combination between some natural ability and some hard work to hone that seed of ability into something noteworthy. Jazza definitely has both natural ability and a heck of a lot of hard work
Yes! Except, it's not actually by Josh Groban, the song was originally written and performed by Secret Garden. In fact there are more verses than what Groban sings, he made the song famous from the voice. The original version is honestly so much betyer
I didn’t even know about the voice. Yeah but I’ll take the Josh Groban version All Day, and I think Jazza’s voice tone and sound would be perfect for the Josh Groban version. Hope to hear it soon! Haha
Not even 2 minutes in and goosebumps hit. I’ll be honest most often when someone I already like does music it’s a full production, full of audio effects and corrections. I love the raw authenticity this gives, i can feel your passion for singing. Don’t be so hard on yourself, your audience love to see the process. Please add to that process, more self affirmations, something may not be perfect, that doesn’t mean it isn’t still incredible. Also those patron jingles were so good and a good idea. Normally just let videos run and ignore those. I hope you consider throwing some fun silly challenges or things like that if you enjoy doing them. Thought they were pretty funny 😆
Hey Jazza. Thanks for this. The way work is going at the moment, I needed something to tell me it’s all gonna be ok. Don’t be so hard on yourself, it’s great to see something not so polished and you chose something that’s really hard to sing! Also, your mic technique was on point and I might use it as an example for my students (I’m a music teacher and you definitely got my seal of approval!)
It's hard not to be critical of yourself, especially when you know it could push close to perfection, but seeing the genuine emotion, the vocal nuances autotune can't replicate, and the more raw take of it is what makes music so special. The storytelling behind it will always drive a song, and you have an excellent way of getting that across, both in the singing and in the conversations about its struggles of it. This was really beautiful, and I'm always excited to see more of what's to come! You're always better than you give yourself credit for.
Just remember the practice of Kintsugi - to be beautiful art doesn't necessarily mean to be with out flaws or cracks... what you may deem imperfect because of the flaws, others find inspiration and peace as a direct result of seeing the emotion behind the art. Keep at it man as long as it continues to bring you joy in some respect- everyone is in your corner cheering you on ! 💛💜💙
I used to play the piano. I played for about a decade. I hated practicing because people could hear me play something that wasn't perfect. I would break down in tears and give up if I was playing something for people that I believe I could've done perfectly and I made a mistake. Pushing past my mistakes was something I couldn't do and I gave up. Yeah you had a shaky start, but you pushed through and your voice really shone. You're a good piano player, and singing at the same time is really hard! Good job Jazza.
It takes courage to share this level of vulnerability with such a large audience! As a singer, I understand the frustrations of the voice not sounding how I want it to! You sharing your musical journey could definitely inspire other people to pick up their musical hobbies!
Sing your imperfections, we love to hear your heart not every right note! You've been an inspiration to so many for so long, but never more than when you show your struggle and push through it anyways! And it was an amazing cover!!!
I think this is why I like the video, the vulnerability in his voice makes the song more meaningful and accessible in some sort of way and I love it....
Thank you, Jazza. I'm working through some really tough stuff right now. Not only was the song perfect in its imperfection, it was also a reminder to me that it's okay to not be able to control everything into existence right now. I just say her in tears for an hour watching you work the process and just letting go of the need for it to be perfect - which of course is what it is ALL about - the journey...
I remember I was trying to do a good take of a song when I was in high school. I was singing it in my closet. I did it so many times, I ended up crying and getting so angry, just losing my mind. Every time I would get a take I liked, I would mess up right at the end, and I didn't have software to piece together different takes, so I would have to start over. Something about that feeling of trying to make music and sing well while being incredibly frustrated and exhausted from trying... I remember it so well. I'm glad you showed that side making music in this video. I guess I never realized I wasn't the only one. Your final take was beautiful, minor mistakes and all!
This was beautiful and raw and honest and it brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing this with us. It's so powerful to see someone be so open in their vulnerabilities. And that's not even mentioning the talent in the singing itself. Bravo!!
Jazza, mate. Real talk time. Your music is great, but let's all be honest, if we wanted musical singles, we'd be buying singles or on a dedicated music app. The best part of ALL of your channels has been the journey. Your art? Fabulous. Your music? Talented. Your humour, juvenile but delightful. But the most exciting part of a Jazza video is the journey. Seeing your initial reaction or thoughts to the theme of the video, seeing your dabble, seeing your dive, seeing how you brought the piece together, and then finally, the piece itself. Your music is no different mate. Don't be a recording artist. Be Jazza, recording music. We, your community, love you. If we can see you in your music, how you influence what comes out and more importantly, how the song affects you, we will love it as well. Remember, obnoxious yes, but always, always consistent.
Nice to hear some new sounds from you, Josiah. The best song ever is your "Words for Alexandra". So much emotions - pure emotions. Tears in my eyes every time I watch this video 😥 Don't do too much with four channels. Have so.e time with your family. Family is all!
Don't be so hard on yourself, as creatives we tend to judge our work (and ourselves) much more harshly (we are always our own worst critics). And let's face it, it is very rare to be able to lay a song down perfectly in the first take. Awesome job, I for one am glad you are getting back into the music so keep it coming and remember to have fun with it!
Slight imperfections make it more interesting to listen to as a viewer. As someone who sang a lot and hasn’t really don’t so in a minute this is super relatable - just have fun finding your sound again and enjoy the process! It’s just another creative outlet - it’s ok to make mistakes!!
Repicking up music was one of the biggest hurdles in my life, learning to re-read music and go to the practice room was a huge struggle hearing every note that was out of tune etc made me realize that music was always there for me if I was diligent in just playing so that’s what I did. I just played to play and it helped me reconnect to why I loved it. You don’t need to be perfect you just need to play it’s your passion it’s always there for you ☺️
I was just over on your art channel watching the video where you where singing and drawing. At the top of the comments there was a link to this channel. I thank Jesus there was!! Your voice is incredible!! I’ve only been watching your art channel for a few months now and I’m still going through and watching your previous videos. I will now begin doing the same thing with this channel and will keep an eye out for new videos. I’m so thrilled to see that you have posted recently. You are so talented please continue to share that talent with us please!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I absolutely looooove that song!! Wow, Jazza, you rock!!! Hats off man, artist, singer, keyboard accompaniment, what else have you got in you?! 😃 Brilliant version, and the little differences just give it more character, I loved thatttttttt!!!!
This was worth it for the patron support sing out alone! But I loved watching the vlog about this, and hear about the struggle, while seeing it on your face as you sang. It made it so impactful and meaningful. A song isn't about getting it right, it's about emotion, and it's never better than when you move others with what you feel and put out in the world!
I ended up stumbling on this again and Jazza this was amazing! I noticed that once you got into the song that fussiness faded and the quality improved massively when you weren't looking for the mistakes. I fully recommend if/when you come back to music to turn on the camera but don't look at it. Warm up a bit and then leap in and focus on the music. The freeing feeling of just letting the song take over. I'm positive the results will surprise you. Keep doing what makes you happy Jazza. You're one in a million and I can't wait to see what else you end up doing. Have a great day!!
watching your videos always makes me realise it's ok to be me and be vulnerable, every time I have a rough day, I see your enthusiasm, spark and smile, and it makes me forget my problems. I believe you are a great entertainer, but most of all you're an awesome person. I don't know if you will ever see this comment, but I just wanted to share these few words ❤thank you so much for every video you make, I have no doubt you will get far with this channel, I love so much your voice and the passion you show when singing
Ya i think it’s like u said i can hear a few mistakes towards the beginning but I don’t think anyone expects perfection, and i think you did a great job and it’s a interesting to see this side of you and to hear that it took u an hour of bad takes to get this great one is inspiring. Keep it up man
Jazza - First off, you're my favorite artist of all time and have been watching you for a couple years and have always wondered. What do you listen to when you're working on a big project. You always seem to have headphones in and I'd love to listen some playlists by jazza 😊
I know you know this because I'm gonna paraphrase your own words right back to you. You talked about it with drawing and art, the difference between what you can see, and what you can do - and the hardest part is when you can see more than you do because you feel like it is all mistakes and errors. That just means you're getting better though. You can't SEE those places that need improving at first, that only happens as you improve. And if you can't see them, then you don't know what to work on to improve. It's the same with music, singing etc. Also, pretty much all the "polished" TH-camrs splice together takes to get the best result. And the really polished ones have it sent off to be done by someone who specialises in sound engineering. Most of the time, their videos are mimed. They're great, and everything, but they make mistakes too. They just have them buffed out. There's something very human about admitting this was a struggle and still showing us that. Much love.
The best advice I ever got about music is if you're having problems sing it in the bathroom 3 times. Once just belting it, once as softly as you can and the last one how you want to sing it not how you think people should hear it. I usually break it up by verse. It gives you freedom, relaxes you and sometimes you find a gem.
Keep calm, take time and things will come to you. Enjoy yourself and have fun, I certainly enjoyed it 😁 P.s. Weird enough I really like your rolled [r] 😅
In highschool chior we would sing this song every spring concert along with "I carry you in my heart" as a goodbye to the graduating seniors. Every year during practice the guys would jokingly sing a high pitched "to shine" as an echo to the girls singing "see how they shine".
Remember that you're not perfect and everyone is allowed to make mistakes. Your art and music are amazing anyway and we will always love to hear you play.
I still have the recording of your original being from all those years ago. You're doing great and I'm so happy you're back doing all the things you love 🖤
I'm so so happy you're pushing through this vulnerable stage and getting back into music! You're doing great and it's awesome that you've got some patrons now!
I loved the song!! An "Bridge over troubled waters" is one of my all time favorite's 😍🥰😘 Excellent Job!! An your pateron names song was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣 TFS as Always do your Best an that's all you can do when it comes too singing.. but you have an amazing voice 🫂🤍🦋🌻
Hey Ya (Outkast Cover) - Josiah Brooks that's my favored song and video you are amazing in that video and the energy too wow....... we need more of that ... can't wait. Artist supporting other Artist.
I just keep amazed on how much I follow you en every endevor you go! Seen you exploit your creativity just inspire me so much. Either you are making art, doing miniatures, singing, playing games and I just wonder... WTH ITS NEXT? and... How do you manage to stretch your day and do it all!
Jazza! All I have to say is WOW! Don't give up man! This video came at the perfect time! Been struggling with a break up with a man I devoted the last 9 years of my life to. I'm going through a really rough time finding my way. Your voice and your determination has given me hope to never give up even when it feels hopeless! Love you Jazza!
I’m a perfectionist and proud of it but it can take it’s toll sometimes. This entire week I’ve been so frustrated with myself for not being able to play a specific song the way I want to and man I really appreciated this, much love
beautiful voice! Its so fun to see you get back to this stuff! Your channel has definitely fueled my art curiosity. You are one of the reasons my office is full of a bunch of different art mediums! Also, I appreciate the peeks into the behind the scenes part of everything you do. It really shows how much work goes into it!
Jazza ... You've NO Idea how your rendition has effected me ... I'm 👩🏻🦼 chronically ill & Recently found out, there's a "Spot" on my lung. Like you, I sang in my 20's & had enough success to continue doing it for fun. But, my life changed at 30 when a myriad of medical issues caused me to become bedridden. After a few HARD years I was able to regain some semblance of a life with my husband & Now THIS !!! Please know, Your rendition brought me to Tears !!! It also gives me the strength I NEED to take on this new battle. Thank You a 1000x's over ! You'll never know how much it means !!! GOD Bless You & Yours 🙏🏻
I am so grateful you are back to singing. Your voice is so calming and relaxing. When my best friend went to heaven, the only thing that brought peace, was listening to you. No, I am not joking! Your tribute to Alexandra touched my heart so much. Absolute y gorgeous. The words just speak to me and allow me to release the pain I hold so deep.. I asked you months ago, on a live, if you considered singing again. You sang " Les Miserables" and said maybe. I prayed daily that you would explore music again. Your talent, along with your beautiful heart and all of your kindness just seep thru the music you bring to life. I, being a music major, who plays with 3 separate symphonies, can say, "Your talent is far beyond what you may perceive as real," I guess I say all of that to say, 'Thank you...not only can we now see your talent, but now we can be blessed by hearing it!". God Bless. If you take request, please sing, "This is Me"
I loved the patron daddies so much!. Also, you did great. You sounded a little nervous. Don't worry man, we love you and you will feel comfortable and confident soon enough just keep working at it❤
YOUVE GOT THIS JAZZAAAAAAAA. Find a song to practice in the shower, and you’ll get used to the warmth and comfort of it with the steam/bathroom acoustics. The songs I sing best all had studio time in the shower 😂
Thanks for sharing this song. I needed this so much today. I’m going through a lot and this was very encouraging. More than you know. Your music and art is definitely helping me get through this rough time. Just want to say thanks!
That is a terrible feeling. That expression at the beginning hit way too close to home...It got to the point for me that I made a rule where I'm not allowed to interrupt a song because I messed up. Even if I don't use that take, it still feels like an accomplishment. Spending an hour+ starting and starting over is frustrating and depressing. I identify way too closely with this video. Great job, by the way.
My dad and I run free ukulele lessons online and when he is away I have to run the group and sing. I can sing reasonably well. I can play the ukulele. I can sing and play the ukulele at the same time. When I lead the group when he is away I can’t do anything. The key changes The words disappear from my brain but are on the screen in front of me. The sound quality is awful because technology hates me. The frets all blur into one huge unreachable fret and sometimes I play guitar chords instead of ukulele chords. When people sing without thinking it’s a beautiful wondrous thing. Loved it Jazza! Please can we have a song around the fire pit one day? You and your guitar acoustic?
Jazza, you took evidently 7 years to get back into the musical side of things! Don't push yourself to hard! You still sound amazing. Not sure if you've done this but try warming up before signing!
Jazza, it takes time to get back into the "swing" of things (get it? because "swing" is a kind of music? No? k. Sorry for the pun it's been a long day lol) Anyway, don't worry about feeling self-conscious about your songs. I personally really enjoyed your cover of this song, and I know that with time you'll sound even more amazing!
As someone whom has loved to sing all my life I've been having a hard time doing so this past two years. It's so fusterating that when I watched you struggle I got so emotional, because I felt how hard it is to want to do something so good and so perfect and you just can't until you let go of that fear. Being a person whom has been so critical of my own voice and talent that when it doesn't work the way I wanted to it's makes me angry. I am so thankful to see that you let go of that frustration and just did your best. As much as you may not realize you do touch so many people in so many different ways and for that I thank you. you inspire so many to do and try things out of their comfort zone. As a 48 yr old single Mom I have had to let go of so many dreams along the way. I hope that someday I can record my music if only to give my daughter and son a gift well after I'm gone. Again thank you! 🦋
I totally get it Jazza, if it's not how I picture it in my head I ain't happy with it. But we need to start somewhere, it's just important that we don't stop.

Much love.
Wow! I don't think I've ever heard that song sung with such feeling and emotion. Beautifully sung, brought tears to my eyes. Your voice is Amazing!
I just discovered this channel, and I was sad when I saw all the videos were 9 years ago. So very pleased to see you getting back into music.
Keep calm, take time and things will come to you. Enjoy yourself and have fun, I certainly enjoyed it 😁
P.s. Weird enough I really like your rolled [r] 😅
Keep on keepin on Jazza! Thank you for sharing the whole process, not just the polished bit. Love & Aloha to you from Hawaii!
In highschool chior we would sing this song every spring concert along with "I carry you in my heart" as a goodbye to the graduating seniors.
Every year during practice the guys would jokingly sing a high pitched "to shine" as an echo to the girls singing "see how they shine".
Some serious Tim Minchin vibes while you were singing the patrons names 😂👏
Thank you for covering this song. I needed a reminder that I’m going to be okay. It’s been really hard two months.
Even being able to play music is wonderful and to have the confidence to go back to it if I had a hat I would doff it for Jazza good on you.
Keep the music coming Jazza, love it! So fun to see you get back into it!
I absolutely love this song and you did such a great job..it always makes me cry and this was no different. Keep making music.
Beautifully done and a great reminder during rough times. I know I needed to hear this. Thank you for not giving up, Jazza 💙💚

Hey Ya (Outkast Cover) - Josiah Brooks that's my favored song and video
you are amazing in that video and the energy too wow....... we need more
of that ...
Love you too! Stay strong, and thank you for the Kind words
Thank You Jazza for taking the time to read my lengthy comment ... But knowing that You Did ... Has made my Year !!! Thanks Again & Bless You 🙏🏻
Absolutely beautiful! You did an amazing job!
love to see more of this beautiful musical journey
Don't worry man, we love you and you will feel comfortable and confident soon enough just keep working at it❤
Beautiful, Josiah, absolutely beautiful.
Your voice seems happier when you're belting out the vocal xx good job .... enjoyed it xx
YOUVE GOT THIS JAZZAAAAAAAA. Find a song to practice in the shower, and you’ll get used to the warmth and comfort of it with the steam/bathroom acoustics. The songs I sing best all had studio time in the shower 😂
It's nice to see the struggle, not just a perfect edited video. It will be fun to watch you grow.
Beautiful! You are quite gifted.
I'm so glad you pushed through Jazza!
Love it... You do such a great Job your such an inspiration.😁
Oh I loved the rawness of it , try and relax and just go for it 👍
Yeeeeees!!!!!!!! Dude! This is awesome.
You go Jazza Brooks. Loved it.
The pipes are awesome mate. You’re killing it!
My dad and I run free ukulele lessons online and when he is away I have to run the group and sing.
I can sing reasonably well. I can play the ukulele.
I can sing and play the ukulele at the same time.
When I lead the group when he is away I can’t do anything.
The key changes
The words disappear from my brain but are on the screen in front of me.
I love it Jazza. Keep going n thanks for sharing your vulnerability ❤️
Jazza can make art, act, film, play piano, and sing
Absolutely love this!
Damn. I'm new to your channel and have enjoyed it, but this blew me away. The was beautiful and moving. Love that song, you did it so well. Thank you!
I personally really enjoyed your cover of this song, and I know that with time you'll sound even more amazing!
that was impressive, amazing take on an amazing classic
Such a great song. I love it when you belt out those notes Jazza!
Are you taking requests? I would love a Mrs Jazza duet.
