Okay but Jenny constantly circling back to how potential little girls might react to this hypothetical story and all its merchandize is honestly really sweet? Like she's a genuinely kind adult who remembers being a child that loved gross plastic jewelry and wants that same silliness for future little girls.
Hi just found this vid. If you were to ask me, i think this is exactly where they are taking the show. The 6 new characters of the various species in the school are clearly being set up to to ne the elements. Keep in kind i have yet to see the most recent season. So yeah i definitely thing the school thing is what theyre going with. With our Yak, Hippogriff, griffon, changling, pony, and dragon being our new cast for mlp. Though i know saying that it wouldnt be My Little Pony it would be My Little Creature XD
Of course it had. You think this highly intricate and carefully planned out universe just spewed out like improv? She’s been writing this in her head for YEARS she’s absolutely told it to her fellow bronies before lol
Crystal ponies be Vikings, because vikings used crystals to un-diffuse sunlight, to be able to see the precise position of the sun through clouds, to sail further away from the coast, without getting lost.
i could honestly listen to this lady talk about these imagined episodes for hours and be completely content with it. cause now i’m very interested in this universe.
I live on the eastern plains of Colorado, and I work for an insurance company that specializes in policies for farms and ranches. I would just like to add, for the record, that "cowboy" is a real personality archetype
I like the idea that cowboy is a great group of traits that go with so many other character traits. Like you can be a cowboy and anything else together. It doesn’t just stop with being a cowboy lol
Applejack was my daughters favorite character for a long time, and she would always try to imitate her accent. Super cute. Applejack’s role was the pony that signified females that do laborious work. She ran a farm, but she also could be the pony that did concrete or built houses or something. She was the weight lifting pony, the “strong” woman with the crazy kick! SHE was the tomboy, much like my two mothers who liked trucks and ATVs and hunting and fishing. Rainbow Dash is tomboyish, but is really just the girl that does tons of sports and is athletic.
I wish I’d been exposed to a character like Applejack as a kid, I would have identified a lot with her and it probably would have inspired me to be more aware of manual labor-type work as on option (I definitely thought it was something girls weren’t _supposed_ to do when I was younger). It’s what I do now and I like it a lot, I wouldn’t want to do anything else, but it took me quite a while to bite the bullet because I was intimidated by how male-dominated most blue collar jobs are. And I just love that, in a franchise like My Little Pony, there’s a character who does all of these things that have historically been considered men’s work.
I don't think I was ever really that into My Little Pony as a kid but I recognize all of the ponies, specifically Pinkie Pie and Apple Jack. I think my sister had a Pinkie Pie toy and I had an Apple Jack toy? Either way Apple Jack was always my favorite, I thought she was cute and I like cowboys so it's a win-win
See I was on board for the whole video then the words “goth rarity” came out of your mouth and now I’m really mad that this isn’t how the reboot will go down. Goth rarity is everything I need in my life
I really love the twist that Twilight is actually Luna, maybe I'm just dumb but I genuinely didn't see it coming. The series finale could be about Luna's evil magic finally taking over Twilight and the other 5 have to reach her and bring her back through the magic of friendship or something.
I can actually see the season finale containing a scene that is essentially a complete reverse of the first episode of FiM. Basically, instead of putting on a bunch of magical conduits to return Nightmare Moon to normal with a literal friendship laser, they end up realizing that all they're accomplishing by helping out in the magical duel is destroying more of the school and making everything worse, so, in unison, they all take OFF their magical conduits, step forward, and just talk to her, and it ends up being THAT action that saves the day instead. Reminding Twilight that regardless of what happened or who she was 1,000 years ago, she still has people who care about her right now, and who aren't going to let her do something that they know she will immediately regret after it's done. Saving the day with the ACTUAL power of friendship.
Me, realizing that Twilight Sparkle is actually Princess Luna in this nonexistent children’s show that Jenny Nicholson has pitched to me: oh fuck I’m a genius
It's really unfortunate that they made Applejack the pony of Honesty when she's loyal to a fault and isn't very honest at times, and Rainbow Dash is the pony of loyalty though she's honest to a fault and not all that loyal.
They were supposed to be the opposite of what they are now/I think one of their elements was different during planning (that is to say, honesty wasn't honesty, but another element, for example)
In my opinion, Sunset Shimmer was a much more interesting character than Starlight Glimmer. She had, you know, an actual personality that's not a copypaste of an already existing pony...
@@grantexticulo Yeah, Sunset Shimmer had a similar role but she was more distinct. Her arc wasn't coming out of her shell so much as it was learning to be less misanthropic. XD
DPadGamer ... Yeah I ate Apple Jacks cereal, had "Porg roasted on an open fire (like something CHEWY for the Holidays)" ... So what's the mystery? We'll know tomorrow how that goes down! 😉
Applejack is a cowgirl/valley girl, with a strong work ethic. She also fills kinda the big sis archetype. I guess the problem with that is twofold: it's a cultural stereotype and probably the target audience doesn't really identify with her. On the other hand the other ponies are simpler and have broader appeal: Twilight Sparkle - nerd/bookworm Flutterhsy - shy and loves animals/little sis Rarity - likes everything that is posh and about fashion, girliest of them all (overlaps with AJ in the big sis department) Raibow Dash - competitive/tomboy/trickster (overlaps with AJ in the "party muscle" department) Pinkie Pie - goofball/hyperactive/loco
I started to watch this video for that EXACT reason. "A is for apple, J is for Jacks, Cinnamon-toasty Apple Jacks![!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]" Added exclamation points for love and emphasis.
I love Applejack. For me she's the stereotype "family person". As someone who comes from a line of farmers and is close with her family she was always kind of relatable. Also, I kind of like how this video is titled "the applejack problem" but contains the complete story idea for a MLP reboot that barely focuses on Applejack :D
Imagine Rarity being super embarrassed about glowing in the dark so she always wears a hoodie to bed or a cape if we’re being dramatic and then there’s a sudden eclipse during the day and she doesn’t have time to prepare for the darkness, so they all realize that she glows and then the eclipse can somehow tie into the moon/Luna plot line I dunno I want to be real so bad 😂
I love the idea of Rarity being embarrassed about glowing in the dark, but then it unexpectedly comes in clutch kind of like that scene in Tangled where Rapunzel and Eugene almost drown lol
@@flipflopzthreeonethree1873 The ponies (sans magical conduits) get lost in a dark cave system below the moon hall ruins, when a sudden breeze blows out the candles they're using for light. The breeze is obviously going to be Luna, and I imagine her having glow in the dark elements too, but just like, her eyes and cutie mark and maybe some sort of star/galaxy patterns in her hair or wings. Also I want Luna's character to lean in hard to her inability to relate to other ponies. I know a lot of neurodivergent people felt Twilight Sparkle was relatable, but I always thought Luna was the true autistic icon. Totally isolated from a society fundamentally different than her. And don't have the craters in the moon disappear, have the entire moon disappear. The night is plunged into total darkness, tides cease to exist, and pony boats carrying essential supplies can't dock. This time it's not just Luna who has to learn how to interact with society, it's society at large learning that Luna, though different and far less glamorous than Celestia, is actually valuable.
Solution: add an ADDITIONAL cowboy pony with whom Applejack shares an angsty, turbulent Brokeback Mountain-style dramatic romance as a subtle side story totally unrelated to the rest of the general plot.
Not even a romance. A deep "I Love You, Man" style friendship that follows beat for beat like Brokeback Mountain, but instead of romantic stuff, they're like, idk, playing cards or something.
Jenny Nicholson accidentally wrote my life’s story. I was quite literally a young cowgirl who grew up competing in rodeos, living on farms/forests, and as a teen I actually got a scholarship to a fancy private school I wouldn’t have been otherwise able to afford. I too desperately tried to hide my southern drawl, and my friends in high school and now always mock how the drawl returns when I’m angry or excited. Anyway that private school turned out to be a literal cult that committed several crimes. The other stuff is a cool coincidence tho
I love how passionate she is about this, I really want this to be a thing just because how in detail she explains everything and I know she would be happy
Jenny I literally wrote my masters dissertation on tv shows with toy tie ins and this is honestly the best breakdown I have ever come across of the process. I'm in awe.
How cool! I am preparing material for a class I want to teach on cartoons. The last era we'll cover will be the 80s, when the divorce boom spawned all those cartoons and guilt toys. Did you notice the psychological bend most of them seem to have towards the needs of those kids to be needed and have their own secrets? And how so many of the cartoons show children escaping "the dull playroom" for another dimension? Subtextally, I think, they are escaping what I call All The Yelling because it never explains why they can't visit the rest of the house just because it's raining or whatever.
@@helenamirian908 I think there were more cartoons as moms worked outside the house, too. You should watch this video David Stewart did on why millennials have so much nostalgia th-cam.com/video/Wq-sR3hW4H8/w-d-xo.html
Jenny is consistently so good at this, she has such good ideas for everything from improvements to movie and tv plots, merchandise for franchises, theme parks etc. She could genuinely be a consultant for people coming up with these ideas and it would drastically improve so many of the entertainment products she talks about.
@@Selvokaz I didn't click shit, all I know is that I Googled expecting wholesome and on my family computer I just saw a load of links that read: "RULE 34 SMUT"
Seriously. Like, I haven't watched my little pony, but the way her content is I figured I'd watch this anyway, and suddenly I have the need to watch this show. It's disappointing whatever they do won't be anything like this, she should be a creative director or something after a bit of apprenticeship. Goth ponies, tiny ponies, headmaster pony with an internal wrangling of guilt and trying to balance how she treats her sister, while never knowing if its the right thing to do? Very cool.
If only we had someone to direct, animate, voice-act, etc the show along with it. And ideally a producer or two to make sure everyone's work is timely and consistent. "I don't care _how_ awesome My Hero Academia is, you can't just draw this scene in a completely different style from everything else! ...Though it does sound pretty awesome."
@@timothymclean I would love to see what kinda show an eclectic mix of whichever fandom artists were willing to work on one would wind up making. Like I can't imagine it being *good* except by genuine divine miracle but I can imagine it's novelty would more than make up for it.
Plot idea- applejack chooses a conduit which is more jewellery based like a headband or something but she feels drawn to one that's like her cowboy hat She tries to use the headband but it keeps malfunctioning and it doesn't quite work, she ends up choosing her the hat when she starts accepting herself and it works much better Also means Hasbro can sell applejack with headband accessory and then applejack with hat accessory Don't even need to make separate appljejack models, they can just make her look a bit more confident and put a hat on

I have never before heard someone refer to MLP as High Fantasy, but now that I think about it totally is and that's definitely why I like it so much. Side note, that pitch of the scene where the protagonists are all talking about the face in the moon and then they look at it and the features have left the moon is an AWESOME storytelling beat, that is so good.
Okay but I'm still hung up on this video. Like, I literally remembered it with animation because your description is so good that I visualised every aspect. I'm never gonna stop being mad that this isn't real.
Like seriously how cool would it be if they brought back flutter ponies? And the idea of Rarity being from an underground culture works pretty well in the context of archeology and her love of stories and mythology. And I REALLY want to crawl into Jenny’s brain and see what ideas she has in store regarding male characters, rival schools, the teachers, etc. My Little Pony Hogwarts just sounds amazing.
Me, whose favourite character in G4 was Applejack: *reads title* You better not diss on Emotional Stability Pony Who Stops The Main Cast From Going Insane On A Regular Basis (working title)!
Two things: 1) I never knew Applejack was the weirdest pony, but of course she is because she is my favorite. 2) I would totally watch what you have laid out here, and buy the toys.
Applejack is certainly not the weirdest as a person that you might meet in the real world (that title goes to Fluttershy), but it is surreal that she's a principal character in an otherwise non-western related tv show. It would be like if Sheldon Cooper wore pinstripes and talked like Al Capone, but the rest of Big Bang Theory was exactly the same, and this fact was never lampshaded.
@@lancethaintle9070 If you weren't aware, the "Western" is a genre of movies, characterized as being set in the 19th Century American/Mexican west, and focusing on certain character archetypes such as the "cowboy." Though it obviously varies from film to film, cowboys (and cowgirls and cow non-binary people) tend to have certain distinctive essential traits, such as: wearing a "cowboy hat," being skilled in rodeo arts such as the lasso, a fondness for square dancing and other such activities, etc. In most cases, these are generally understated for the purposes of creating a naturalistic experience, but Applejack in particular is a hyper-exaggerated cartoon caricature. Also, I never watched Spongebob. A traumatizing experience at daycare when I was 4 turned me off that show completely.
@@lancethaintle9070 I honestly can't tell whether you've ever seen a western. To re-iterate, when I talk about "cowboys," I am not referring to any actual group of people, but rather the romanticized cultural ideas about a quasi-mythical time and place that have built up in the years since that era has entirely disappeared. Some of the best films in the western genre have been made by Italians, directly remaking Japanese Samurai films. Ashleigh Ball is actually Canadian. But it doesn't matter, because Cowboys. Are. A. Simulacrum.
I think people missed the more obvious point, even though it was made clear during the show... Applejack's personality wasn't her being a farm girl, it was her being honest. With the show being north-american, and with cowboys having an established identity as simple, honest, hard-working farmers, it was a way of embodying the concept of honesty while also having the character actually do something (like Rarity being a tailor or Pinkie being a baker). It also fit in with the show's humor, as cowboys and their horses are iconic and part of Americana, but in the context of the show she's a cowboy who IS a horse. So I'm not sure what the actual problem was here, it was pretty much perfectly executed.
vtr0104 it’s cuz although it’s meant to be honesty, the character type is just cowboy. For instance, Fluttershy is kind, but her character type is shyness. It’s a about their everyday actions, not their best characteristics. So while Fluttershy is definitely a kind person, in terms of her everyday actions, people know her to be the shy girl, with some nicer moments occasionally. Applejacks problem is that her everyday actions are just her being stereotypically southern, which doesn’t really appeal to people not from the south. She has honest moments, but she’s mostly just a cowgirl, with her arcs either revolving around farming or her family. So yeah, farming isn’t that appealing and her family arcs aren’t as interesting or relatable as perhaps a fashion designer’s plights or Fluttershy overcoming her meekness.
@@allyli1718 It also doesn't help that Applejack doesn't have a glaring flaw that can be exploited for drama or conflict. Twilight Sparkle: Puts too much pressure on herself to handle things. Especially when Celestia is involved, she has to learn to trust and rely on others to help her. Notice how Twilight often fails when she's separated from her friends or does things on her own. Rainbow Dash: Her ego and desire to impress others tends to backfire. Rainbow Dash gets humbled alot, but also faces challenges pushing her Wonderbolt career. Also she's encouraged to be open-minded with boooks and not be afraid to try new things. Pinkie Pie: Her hyperactive, silly personality tends to annoy people and she can miss social ques because of her short attention span. She loves parties so much she can alienate people or make them not take her seriously. So Pinkie Pie needs to learn, sometimes you need to take things seriously. Rarity: She can be selfish and materialistic at times, so her growth is in being more generous and not letting her greed get the better of her. She also wants to pursue her fashion career, and sometimes you need help from your friends to get a hoof in the door. Fluttershy: She's constantly passive, afraid and has low self esteem. Her kindness tends to get exploited so she needs to learn how to boost her self confidence and realise that Kindness has its limits. Applejack: ....She's hardworking and Honest to a fault. Not alot of room for flaws when the show does not want to present Honesty as flexible. Can't teach kids it's okay to lie sometimes. Pride used to be her flaw, like in Applebuck Season, and keeping her word, but it's not touched on much past that episode. Pride is more a Rainbow Dash flaw and Twilight took on the "doing things yourself" flaw.
@@unorthodoxic4691 Yeah, in all this leaves Applejack easily the least interesting of the Mane 6. Must be why she often appears alongside Applebloom, Granny Smith and Big Mac. So they can compensate for Applejack's rather sparse character.
Yeah, Applejack was a sensible, well-adjusted, grounded pony with a happy, loving close family. She was the "straight man" of the group of neurotic friends. She was my favourite pony.
there's this personality categorizing system called big five and one of the categories is calm (mentally stable) versus limbic (neurotic), and on this website that categorizes characters into certain personality types, applejack is the only one out of her friends who is calm 😭😭
Same, At By the middle I was convinced that Hasbro should fire all the writers and executives of MLP and replace them with Jenny. This was a great pich and they would make more cash then they knew what to do with.
1. I could genuinely listen to hours of you pitching this kind of stuff. I think you have a really good understanding of what kids want from toys. 2. As a kid my eyes would have popped out of my head for a show like this. *But* as far as toy production goes, they would want the pony forms as homogenized as possible. It makes a lot more sense for manufacturing to keep the differences superficial. Color, hair, etc.
It’d be going off of the molds, and only Fluttershy, Applejack, and Twilight would need different molds, and maybe not even Twilight because you could just only have a different head? Let’s look at this- Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity would all have the same body type, just with different plastics- clear for Pinkie Pie, Glow-in-the-Dark for Rarity, and normal for Rainbow Dash. There were 3 (4 if you count Big Celestia) different poses at the launch of G4- G4’s depictions of Breezies had them be simple molded things, which could easily be done, making there be 3 different molds, which would be doable
I used to be a hardcore MLP fan, but I started to dislike the whole fandom in general. But hearing you talk about the characters, and how cute they are. The genuine love for My Little Pony makes me want to catch on Friendship is Magic, without getting involved in the fandom again. On my own time, maybe I'll play it in the background while I work.
Freaking same Started to nostalgia-trip a bunch of old(but gold) brony music and just cant help myself but want to go back to the show, so good luck dude
RafaGSD That’s why she’s perfect. As well as why she apparently didn’t get to be as popular with the young ones, I guess? I mean, little girls, young and immature, probably wouldn’t vibe as easily with someone so grownup. That’s probably it. Probably.
quiroz923 I like to think it’s ok. She’s the one who does her best to keep everyone grounded. Of course, she does have her own issues with being a people pleaser, sometimes even at the cost of her own convenience.
Being a bit of a hick and working in a very male dominated manual labor industry, I like Applejack a lot. It’s really cool to have a character like her, who is physically strong and willing to get her hoof-shaped stubs dirty, showing younger girls that that’s an option for them that’s totally fine and that it’s not just for men. I do, however, wish her design were more reminiscent of some kind of draft horse, it would be fitting and she’d stand out a bit if she were given some fluffy feet and possibly have her build adjusted to be a bit bigger and a bit stockier. Not for any real reason, mostly just cause I think it would be cool.
I like that this both has the vibe that you've been thinking about this way too hard for too long, and definitely wrote a script, but also that you are complete making this up as you go and have nothing prepared. I adore you
Generally speaking, videos which are on topics completely different from your normal videos don't do well. They usually aren't watched as much by subscribers, which hurts initial traffic, which makes it harder to get the momentum needed to show up in peoples' feeds. Jenny didn't account for the fact that most of her fans are here more for her commentary than anything she's commenting on.
+Mac Kobalt First of all, season 7 is the best season of MLP, why would you not have them watch it as well? Second of all, why would you make anyone endure the torture of previous generations?
Pony Stuff before they watch the movie they need to at least see a few seasons and will probably be needing more so 2 seasons to fill up on the movie does take place before season 7 but after 6 it's a good place to start and not all generations were bad although most definitely were
+Mac Kobalt What the heck does the movie have to do with anything? Also, the movie takes place between season 7 and season 8, not between 6 and 7. So the movie is after season 7.
Applejack is my second favorite of the main 6. She has the most consistent characterization and usually had the most interesting episodes. The writers take her element way more seriously than everyone else's. Every time she's forced to lie or stretch the truth she's either horrible at it or just strait up refuses. Fluttershy can be mean, pinkiepie can be sad, and rarity can be self centered, but applejack can't tell a convincing lie to save her life.
Be the change you want to see in this world, Mike. (I am advising you to draw, voice, and animate Jenny's pilot for your child) (and then please upload it for the rest of us)
I clicked on this video because I thought it was gonna be about how the Applejacks cereal commercials had an ongoing story, but was left on a cliffhanger when they stopped making the cereal. I remember CinnaMon (the Jamaican stereotype cinnamon stick) disappearing in a grocery store and Bad Apple yelling his name as the camera zooms out.
rundown: - twilight has turned into sci-twi - pinkie's a stoner - rainbow's a sophomore. thats it thats the bullet - applejack is in a perpetual state of that one time when she went to the oranges' - fluttershy's a spy - rarity's a goth nerd sophomore

@@tomsparrow1823 Maybe like in a possession way? And when she tried that something went wrong and she either lost her memories or the possession didn't work like she thought it would and instead of taking over the pony's body she merged with her, creating an entirely new being, or something along those lines?
I think about this video a lot. I love how much you focused on the little girls’ experience. So many people seem to forget who this series is for above all else
I loved Applejack, I grew up on an actual southern farm and around the time the show started I was a preteen who'd just moved to a more urban area, my friends and I watched the show and they all teased me for being "the southern one" so I guess I just latched onto her, I know I was a tad older than the target audience but this at the time little girl loved her

If I were one of the higher ups there, and I saw this, I’d offer her a job.

“I picture the crystal ponies having like ancient Roman culture”

Well, the crystal ponies and the pegasi have ancient Greek culture so it's not too far off.

The obvious solution is to make Applejack a war criminal.
She took part in the Fort Pillow Massacre
Make her an ARSONIST
Of course

Yeah
Also she’s very hardworking and stuff

I live on the eastern plains of Colorado, and I work for an insurance company that specializes in policies for farms and ranches. I would just like to add, for the record, that "cowboy" is a real personality archetype
I like the idea that cowboy is a great group of traits that go with so many other character traits. Like you can be a cowboy and anything else together. It doesn’t just stop with being a cowboy lol
@@reneebingham7872 A cowboy cow boy?
Renee Bingham except a cowboy’s a ranch hand. That’s where the name comes from.
Applejack the working class pony makes so much sense
I always saw Rainbow Dash as the himbo
Applejack was the reason I wanted to be stronger than boys and the reason I believed I could be
See I was on board for the whole video then the words “goth rarity” came out of your mouth and now I’m really mad that this isn’t how the reboot will go down. Goth rarity is everything I need in my life

Nightmare Rarity is basically just a cooler looking Princess Luna design.
@@beefar0ni Oh yeah, I remember Borderline Personality Disorder Rarity, that was pretty sick
KageMinowara I mean technically there was a goth fluttershy in the episode where she needed to help Rarity run her store :3
I really love the twist that Twilight is actually Luna, maybe I'm just dumb but I genuinely didn't see it coming. The series finale could be about Luna's evil magic finally taking over Twilight and the other 5 have to reach her and bring her back through the magic of friendship or something.
Deja Vu of a fanfic.
or was it a fanfic where Twi is Luna's daughter
wooaaahhhhhh
Saving the day with the ACTUAL power of friendship.

they don't taste like apples. that's the problem.
Applejack is a cowgirl/valley girl, with a strong work ethic. She also fills kinda the big sis archetype. I guess the problem with that is twofold: it's a cultural stereotype and probably the target audience doesn't really identify with her.
On the other hand the other ponies are simpler and have broader appeal:
Twilight Sparkle - nerd/bookworm
Flutterhsy - shy and loves animals/little sis
Rarity - likes everything that is posh and about fashion, girliest of them all (overlaps with AJ in the big sis department)
Raibow Dash - competitive/tomboy/trickster (overlaps with AJ in the "party muscle" department)
Pinkie Pie - goofball/hyperactive/loco
Who is the rebel loner?
@@flipflopzthreeonethree1873
The ponies (sans magical conduits) get lost in a dark cave system below the moon hall ruins, when a sudden breeze blows out the candles they're using for light.
With how extra Rarity is she would wear a cape
Solution: add an ADDITIONAL cowboy pony with whom Applejack shares an angsty, turbulent Brokeback Mountain-style dramatic romance as a subtle side story totally unrelated to the rest of the general plot.
That is hilarious
Not even a romance. A deep "I Love You, Man" style friendship that follows beat for beat like Brokeback Mountain, but instead of romantic stuff, they're like, idk, playing cards or something.

Hank Hill is best pony
Two things:
1) I never knew Applejack was the weirdest pony, but of course she is because she is my favorite.
2) I would totally watch what you have laid out here, and buy the toys.
She's a horse girl that doesn't have horses she IS the horse

Hagrid: "You are a wizard Applejack"
I used to be a hardcore MLP fan, but I started to dislike the whole fandom in general. But hearing you talk about the characters, and how cute they are. The genuine love for My Little Pony makes me want to catch on Friendship is Magic, without getting involved in the fandom again. On my own time, maybe I'll play it in the background while I work.
Freaking same
Started to nostalgia-trip a bunch of old(but gold) brony music and just cant help myself but want to go back to the show, so good luck dude
I thought that Applejack's main personality traits were maturity, hard-working and dependability.
RafaGSD
That’s why she’s perfect.
As well as why she apparently didn’t get to be as popular with the young ones, I guess? I mean, little girls, young and immature, probably wouldn’t vibe as easily with someone so grownup. That’s probably it. Probably.
and rattle snake murder ability
yeah but that's the problem. She's already kind of perfect. There's not much room for character growth or a character arc.
quiroz923
I like to think it’s ok. She’s the one who does her best to keep everyone grounded. Of course, she does have her own issues with being a people pleaser, sometimes even at the cost of her own convenience.
She was my favourite one when me and my brother were forced to watch the show because it was the only thing on in the morning before school.
I adore you
It’s the perfect blend
that’s how i feel about all her videos, which is why i’m on a quest to watch them all
ur a gennius storyteller wtf even making my little pony sound new and sick af
"We're not selling sticks at Toys R Us"... Technically true.
Twilight being Luna would set up the perfect angst scene between her and Celestia when she remembers imo.
I thought the idea was that Luna was her mom but that makes way more sense lol
“This will be my least viewed video”
#38 on trending as of watching.
@Brian M yea, and her channel found more fame throuhg star wars...still a bit of ambiguity on whether it's sarcasm to me tho
I've never seen an episode of MLP but I still watched all 20 minutes of this
Emily Raye same
Emily Raye how? Go watch season 1-5 and gen 2 episodes 3-6 and get the scootalo early gen meme
+Mac Kobalt
First of all, season 7 is the best season of MLP, why would you not have them watch it as well?
Second of all, why would you make anyone endure the torture of previous generations?
Pony Stuff before they watch the movie they need to at least see a few seasons and will probably be needing more so 2 seasons to fill up on the movie does take place before season 7 but after 6 it's a good place to start and not all generations were bad although most definitely were
+Mac Kobalt
What the heck does the movie have to do with anything?
Also, the movie takes place between season 7 and season 8, not between 6 and 7. So the movie is after season 7.
I love how you are thinking up the toyetic aspect of the show.
Toyetic 😂
Applejack is my second favorite of the main 6. She has the most consistent characterization and usually had the most interesting episodes. The writers take her element way more seriously than everyone else's. Every time she's forced to lie or stretch the truth she's either horrible at it or just strait up refuses. Fluttershy can be mean, pinkiepie can be sad, and rarity can be self centered, but applejack can't tell a convincing lie to save her life.
My 5yr old daughter and I watched this, she asked upon finishing this video "Daddy, when can I watch that episode?"
Be the change you want to see in this world, Mike.
(I am advising you to draw, voice, and animate Jenny's pilot for your child)
(and then please upload it for the rest of us)
"Daddy, when can I watch that episode?"
"NEVER! You can never watch that episode, it will never exist AHAHAHAHA!"
when you said rarity should be taller my mind immediately jumped to those knee high goth platform boots(that usally have wings on them or smth)
It's just a different feeling to listen to someone talk about something they really care about
I clicked on this video because I thought it was gonna be about how the Applejacks cereal commercials had an ongoing story, but was left on a cliffhanger when they stopped making the cereal. I remember CinnaMon (the Jamaican stereotype cinnamon stick) disappearing in a grocery store and Bad Apple yelling his name as the camera zooms out.
I like you
rundown:
- twilight has turned into sci-twi
- pinkie's a stoner
- rainbow's a sophomore. thats it thats the bullet
- applejack is in a perpetual state of that one time when she went to the oranges'
- fluttershy's a spy
- rarity's a goth nerd sophomore
yes.
hell yea
Her description of pinky pie kinda reminds me of luna lovegood
A stoner in what way??
@@abbyr8664 Shut up and take my 💰💵
Cant believe they stole your pony school idea. But seriously two years later i see this for the first time and id watch a 3 hour video of you explaining this whole plot step by step tbh
O-O Twilight being Princess Luna is amazing.
Was that really what was being implied? Because I thought so too but I don't exactly understand like... How?
@@tomsparrow1823 Maybe like in a possession way? Like Princess Luna couldn't just leave the Moon, because her physical body was bound to it, but she could basically take over the body and mind of another pony. And when she tried that something went wrong and she either lost her memories or the possession didn't work like she thought it would and instead of taking over the pony's body she merged with her, creating an entirely new being, or something along those lines?
@@PhileasLiebmann I take it neither of you stayed after the patreon section.
I think about this video a lot. I love how much you focused on the little girls’ experience. So many people seem to forget who this series is for above all else
Applejack to me was defined by being hard working and genuine, and the cowgirl thing is just an aesthetic
I loved Applejack, I grew up on an actual southern farm and around the time the show started I was a preteen who'd just moved to a more urban area, my friends and I watched the show and they all teased me for being "the southern one" so I guess I just latched onto her, I know I was a tad older than the target audience but this at the time little girl loved her
Jenny , I know next to nothing about MLP but it was interesting to learn about. Jenny the educator, it has a ring to it.
I cant believe they solved the applejack problem by implying that shes long dead now
Bye what
I have to keep reminding myself this isn't an actual pitch for the next gen and it isn't happening, I'm getting too invested
"So anyway, that's why I think Applejack should still have a cowboy hat."
Gold.
I actually really love your ideas for Pinkie, they're adorable and she's always been my favorite because of how I identify with her.
"If you catch a kite,...you catch a Wish"
Basically pony Luna Lovegood
I think about your extensive pony knowledge every day,,,, I rewatch this so often and every time the "if you catch a kite you catch a wish" bit always makes me so happy because I thought that scene was delightfully silly as well
