The ending has me wondering: What if there is no curse in the traditional sense? What if the 'curse' is simply to put a mark on these peoples' shoulders? If everyone marked is dreading the 'curse', and seeking out ways to end it in dangerous locations, wouldn't they ultimately be killed young, and in unfortunate circumstances? Would be extremely clever.
So the curse was just a test from the vengeful goddess to teach humanity a lesson. That's one hell of a setup. But I guess the characters would rather take their chances then have to constantly live in fear for having a mark that can potentially kill them anytime. Honestly tho, imho this entire strategy could very well backfire against the vengeful goddess. By marking everyone with a death mark she is potentially killing ALL potential worshipers, be it directly or indirectly. Which would result in her wanting to teach humanity a lesson kinda moot. Nobody would learn a thing if everyone was dead, be it thru accepting the death mark, or dying from the perilous journey in finding a way to break the curse.

I preferred the previous Mojin film to this one. It was sad that they couldn’t get the same cast and just make a straight sequel. Not a bad movie though - I saw it at the cinema in Shenzhen. These “tomb raider” style Chinese movies are good fun and entertaining.
