This colour combination is gorgeous. I own two Dan Henry watches and, in five years, have not yet had to change the batteries. I would like to add the 1963 to my collection.
i really like the execution of the mother of pearl, subtle but adds complexity
Sky blue and white in dial looks hypnotic to eyes
I already have the 38mm 1964 in panda colors. I am really tempted by this watch, I am looking for a MOP watch for guys. My only gripe is, the 38mm came with the metal bracelet and a black leather strap. But with the 36mm you have to buy the metal bracelet seperatly. In the end costing more than the 38mm version.
Ben I’ve got 5 Dan Henry watches, so yeah I’m a fan! All are beautifully made & so on point regarding the vintage aesthetic of each era. I’m currently eyeing off one or two others at the moment.🤩😎👍🏼
1st thing. Merry Christmas Ben, I love your work and really respect what you do. Thank you.
2nd, I've owned several Dan Henry's.... great watches for the price range.
This one looks fantastic!! Not checked out DH for ages, so cheers for bringing me up to date 😊
Thanks for checking this piece out. Really tempted by this one. Especially since we seem to share similar wrist sizes. 😅
Im a little bummed out that you have to get the blue strap with the Mop dial. But I guess the bracelet is really the best option.
That looks like an awesome find ! ! !
Good job Ben.
That’s actually has a mineral crystal with a sapphire coating unfortunately. It looks really good on your wrist though and I think I might actually pick one of these up
Grand Touriso is a car reference for GT. It's a racing term and means a sports car designed for long distance driving between continents. Jag XK8, Porsche 911, Ferarri 550 are good examples. A sports car but not racing car. So the nomencular on the back is correct. The image of the Aston Martin DB5 Vantage is a good example of a very old GT.
I was just thinking I’ve not heard about anyone cover Dan Henry in years
Love it! A bit chunky though... I also think it looks a lot like Timex Panda Chrono 40mm.
This is quite nice, and a decent offering for those with small wrists who want to wear a chrono witbout going through Roger C's training regiment for wrist growth
Dan Henry make awesome watches
That Vaer didn't even get a good reading on the tester. I always thought anything below yellow wasn't sapphire.
Oh nice, I have the old 38mm version, it's ok but didn't have sapphire either and even the last hole on the strap was a little loose on a 6 inch wrist. I never really wore it, I stuck with my classic Seagull 1963 more.
Beautiful watch, good size.
Nivada Grenchen has their Datomaster MechaQuartz in 36mm, although it is perpetually sold out :(
Also, it only has mineral crystal, which I can’t believe for the price that they charge for it.
It looks awesome 👌🏽
I think it was a mistake😂, everywhere on the website it says "GRAN" ,and currently you cannot view the pictures of the caseback😂....so i guess they are fixing it
Great looking watch.
Waiting for your Spinnaker Fleuss 40 unboxing & review, Ben.
Hey Ben, are Redwood watches on your radar of watches to look at? I’ve recently seen them a lot on Instagram and now I’m intrigued.
Blancpain Air Command AC03 is smaller: 36.2 mm diameter and 11.5 mm thick. Not exactly comparable though.
Looks alright that.
What is with that abti reflective coating if there is any it hardly works
is it not available in the UK ?? cause I'm tired of paying import fees
Isn't this bens watch club voice.
It looks like a chrono from Triwa.
Remember import costs when ordering DH watches to the U.K.
One of the benefits of Brexit...
It should be "Gran" Turismo, without that final D
best chrono for small wrist was the empire chrono from vario
Love the size but those lugs are truly hideous. Just look at it on the bracelet.
I like...
Ass
The thickness is wild small wrist wear this is like wear a tire on wrist
much prefer it on the bracelet, not the color I would go with however.
I have a DH with Sapphire but I really don't mind a watch that doesn't have it. I'd honestly prefer acrylic to mineral though
@@kyledriscollmusic Ohh I'm curious. Could you please elaborate as to why you prefer Acrylic over Mineral?
@@littlekidlover0 easier to polish if you scratch it and it just looks so good, I find it does the crystal distortions the best which I love and is the clearest, the one on my Vostok almost looks invisible and I doubt they use AR but I could be wrong, plus it's the cheapest
whats your wrist size?
this one is going on the potential 2025 buy list tbh
Does it really matters, if it “looks more expensive”🤔 If you like it, who cares what others think - or dont think.
I don’t investigate the politics of the companies I buy from, but some actively put their opinions out there. Not a great business model. Dan Henry’s statements are such that I will not spend money with his company.
Speaking from the perspective of brazilians, indians, aussies, and plenty others including, pretty soon, americans: your import taxes are fine.
1:21 TGV seems to be the only watch TH-camr that regularly features and raves about this brand. Is he bought and paid for?
Yep might even be owner
That’s a thick boi
Prefer the pre ww2 look.
If it makes you feel any better: Me and my very big wrists also struggle to find a good chronograph that fits me. It's probably my own fault for wanting a tricompax while also refusing to buy anything with a 24-hour subdial cause I think they're useless, though.
That colour is not available in 38mm.
Indeed, as mentioned in the video 👍
Not a fan of a product wearing simply a name and surname of a guy who's making money selling it
Neahhh…
You really have small wrist. I thought that I'm small but maaaan.
Even Addiesdive sounds better than this Dan Henry lol
Timed q chrono is much better option I guess
Nicest affordable chronograph for the smaller wrist is what Studio Underdog did with the Seagull ST-1901 movement, imho. Although their current Uneggspected series are a little too expensive, from an aesthetic viewpoint they outmatch this one....in my humble opinion
Seagull movements are a complete crap shoot…
@@davidsparling3505 I have no experience with them. All I'm saying is aesthetically the Studio Underdog speaks to me the most. I particularly like the square pushers.
@@RogerSartet007 I get it. Sorry for coming across so negative.
Great looking chrono for smaller wrists, but gosh do I hate the brand name... It's so generic and dull. I honestly would prefer some aliex brand names to this lol.
My wife don´t like chronos. So, whats the best chrono for mens wrist? 🤔
🙄
@@brianmccord7387 Why are you fat? No sports?

@@brianmccord7387 Why are you fat? No sports?
The best "affordable" automatic chronograph that is highbeat AND is for small wrists would be Knot ATC-40. It is 40 cm in diameter and 13.5mm thick thanks to the NE88 high beat seiko movement. Keep in mind that the only other reliable option in this price category would be the swiss ETA Valjoux 7750 but that would thicken the watch to around 15mm. I hope you can check it out because I own it and it is stunning.
To be honest, it's hard to get past a watch brand name that is not French on the dial.
I went down a rabbit hole on this company once trying to prove if Dan Henry exists or not - and I concluded that it's probably a Chinese company with a fake origin story. That just bugs me. If he does exist, English is clearly NOT his first language given the things writen in his name. Putting that weirdness to the side - the watches are a bit overpriced compared to other Chinese brands.
He certainly is a real person. If you contact the company, he will most probably be the one replying to you (which was certainly the case when I contacted DH). He is Argentinian, if I remember correctly. He is a serious watch collector, owning in excess of 1000 watches, many of which are some of the rarest pieces in existence. I am not sure where you are researching this but, like his watches or dislike them, Dan’s acumen is well documented on watch forums (e.g. Watchuseek).
I don’t think everybody understands his intentions with his creations. He is intentionally creating homages of rare watches that he actually owns, but that the average person would probably never be able to attain… not in significant numbers. If you cannot afford a Heuer Rindt Carrera, Porsche Design “Top Gun”, etc. but would like to have that experience, Dan Henry is your man.
That may be true. Just like there was never an actual guy named Sergio Valente if you're old enough to remember their designer jeans.
Made in china, hyped by paid for socials. No better than any other chinese made watches. Actually many of the ones off alie are better and cost a lot less.
Please review Daniel Wellington (my favourite watch brand) Thank you!!
Is this sarcasm or...? You won't usually get positive comments about DW from watch enthusiasts
😂
No it is not sarcasm....why would it be? I have had my DW for years and it is a great watch.
You'll find alot of videos about DW from watch reviewers if you want them, The Urban Gentry has some. Maybe this will answer why I thought this was sarcasm
@@colmennis1341 well frankly i dont care what other "watch enthusiasts" say. I love my Daniel Wellington and thats final.
What's all the fuss about?
Imaging bragging about your watch and your buddy asks “where did you get it?” And you say aliexpress 😂
I love AliExpress watches, but let’s not pretend that it’s the same thing as buying an original design from a respected watch company that doesn’t steal designs.
Walking around with a Chinese knockoff on your wrist isn't "Alot better.". There's more to watches than just the "specs".
@@regulardonnie9695 Why would you ever brag about your watch?
@@nwerdscissorhands7475spoken like someone who has never used AliExpress and mistakenly believes it only sells replica watches 😂🤦🏻♂️
Nope. VK63 disqualifies it right out of the box. Cronos has a better chrono with a real sapphire crystal, 37mm and a quartz movement with standard subdials. Plus a tachymeter.
What do you hate about VK63, not arguing, just curious
@colmennis1341 the useless 24 hour subdial slaved to the hour hands, as opposed to being useful as a GMT hand or an hour totalizer. None of the other chronographs that I own have such a wasted subdial. Ick!
Ah I understand, could be more useful I guess
Would be £50 tops from Ali Express. I had the 38mm bicompax and moved it on very quickly. Felt cheap and light. Every aspect was barely good enough. Poor crystal, pressed clasp, awful 'leather' strap, poor lume etc etc. One of the pushers fell off on arrival and I had to send it to be repaired rather than a new one being sent out immediately as you would expect. I then got a 38mm Pierre Paulin from Ali Express with 20mm lug width, a seagull mechanical chronograph movement and actual sapphire crystal. Overall quality is leagues above the Dan Henry. Amazing watch for £150!
Who's Pierre Paulin? A real person? Or just some fake euro name to make your Chinese watch sound like something it isn't? Wouldn't be caught dead with one of those.
True. It's trying to be something it isn't. But in a different way to the Dan Henry. Poor specs, fake collector status and a copy of Heuer chronograph with a quartz movement. Rather have a watch with better specs and a mechanical chronograph movement with real horological history. Funny how there was no internet presence for the famed Dan Henry before he started selling these watches at 5x their value.
@@niqpw I don't care about Dan Henry, and will never buy one - unless my alternative is buying something with Pierre Paulin written on it. I will never, ever wear a Chinese brand that masquerades as something it isn't. It's embarrassing, and tacky.
I will never, I mean NEVER, wear a watch with another man’s full name on it on my wrist.
What's the point of a chronograph watch without a tachymeter 😂
Especially racing-inspired chrono
@kleanovodust-bin69 yeah right it's like an iPhone without their apple logo 😅
@@kentanggaming237are you saying that the tachymeter is useless?
@@orangeyellow-me1pz no, he's saying a racing chronograph without a tachymeter is useless.
To record elapsed time.
That name just isn't inspiring tbh
Just... No.
Oh, wow, finally featuring a ladies' watch
I’m sure your very manly 😂😂
@@turnbasedtoddy7664lol, your mom knows
@@orangeyellow-me1pz You just confirmed how manly you are with that very manly response. Bravo 👏🏼👏🏼
Hey everyone!!!! This guy is definitely a man because he only wears 50mm watches!!!! He doesn’t wear little girlie 36mm watches. 💪🏼💪🏼
@@turnbasedtoddy7664 lol, it seems someone is deeply offended by the joke. You must be a 6 year old girl
@@orangeyellow-me1pz i’m not offended at all. It just always amuses me when someone posts a review of a watch that’s less than 40mm and then there’s always one guy in the comments that calls it a lady’s watch. I guess all of our grandpa’s that were in World War II wearing a tiny 32mm watch are ladies by your logic.
