MusicWorks - Grade 2.5
The final movement of Percy Grainger's masterwork Lincolnshire Posy is arranged here for younger bands with reduced instrumentation. Similar to his earlier adaptation of “Horkstow Grange”, Michael Sweeney carefully maintains the structural and harmonic integrity of the original while providing an authentic-sounding version at an easy level. Certain to become a “must have” for the young band repertoire.

speed to 1.25 it sounds more like the real thing
Glad it is not just me :)
OMG it does!!!
Thx
Thats to fast it feel very very rushed
That's how fast my band director wants to play it and I like it at the speed they have
I played this a few years ago!! its still one of my favorite pieces of music I've played!! I played bass clarinet on this piece and it was exciting to get to have a solo as a 7th grader playing with the high school band!!
Look up Percy Grainger "Lincolnshire Posy" movement 6 specifically.
The Gumsuckers.
I LOOOOVE BASS CLARINET, and I play Horn!
I'm playing this right now
I've played this song before too. I'm play the flute and I'm a 6th grader and I love this song
3 years ago when we did this song this was when my conductor said flutes were playing too loud.. He was waiting so long to say that.
My high school band is struggling through the “full” version of this, and this is making me giggle. It’s cute lol
My middle school band and I did great. I played Trombone
Haha I found my old middle school music
@@randomclipsofmedoinrandomd4253 Same we played this in 8th grade i think
I played this in the UMKC Middle School Honor Band when I was in 7th grade. I was the 1st chair tuba player. My director was Dr. Parisi. (I probably spelled that wrong) This was one of the top moments of my life. I wish I could go back to the day of our performance.
Definitely the BEST! 👌👌
AHH
I'm playing this song for my Honors Band and it sounds amazing!! I play clarinet and I absolutely love the part
I am playing this as a flute player for a concert and i have got everything down except for the end. The really high part throws me off
I was in a honor band last month, and our clinic director was Mr. Sweeney... he was surprisingly nice to all of us. We did this song, and with his instruction, it sounded great.
Honors band?? .
Me doing this in 8th grade
Omg this song is gorgeous! I love the flute parts!
I played this in seventh grade and the horn part was just ✨✨✨✨
Playing this song on euphonium and ughh I just love hearing all the parts flow together !
Me too!
I play the alto saxophone and we started learning this song just today and I love it... I like my part a lot. We will be taking this music to competition so wish us luck 😁🎷🎼

Elephant Lover123 I'm playing this song in my 7th grade band and I think the flute part is the best because I play the flute and i have the solo
I’m learning this song in my concert band is so much fun to play
1st trumpet represent!
singlele I got 2nd trumpet sadly ;-;
singlele Yuh
Honestly 3rd trumpet gets more action than me as a 2nd... it really hurts
lol i got 1st trumpet on this for district band in 8th grade then switched to french horn and played 1st for the real lincolnshire posy at district band the next year...
I'm 2nd
I play alto sax but playing this song I love the baritone sax's part
Playing this in 6th grade thanks so much! I play the flue part and it is an exact match to mine thanks sooo much!
Found lady lost again
I played this in middle school and is still the catchiest song I’ve ever played
Currently playing this song for an upcoming concert , it's awesome ,... Alto sax 2 barely gets breathing time though 😂😂😫😫
Sadie McNally my 8th grade band just played it for Festival, and my fellow horns in my band though that our part was hard, I didn't think so.
my friends a horn shes jealousy of the saxophone part xD ( Im a sax)
I am a 1st part saxophone playing rn
We playing this song right now on 8th grade🎉
Percussion anyone?
(Timpani here) I have 93 measures of rest before I play 5 notes and then I have 32 more measures of rest before playing again🙄
Yes, I played bass drum
Tis the life of a percussionist
I played this when I was in 8th grade and I love it. It was one of my favorites songs that we played in that year but we then played four Scottish Dances and it ended up with the title of my favorite band piece of all time
I haven't heard this song in 2 years, but the melody won't get out of my head.
My flute be doing work :) :}
This was my favorite piece to ever play in band. It was so much fun!
I heard this song at Showcase of Bands on Wednesday and it sounds better at a faster tempo :)
I’m playing this in band 8th rn!!!!! It’s so fun and sounds really cool!
Wait do we go to the same school lmao
@@a_literal_crow idk do we???? Eisenhower Middle School?

Tenor sax! 💜 this song!
Maddi Nelson Horns too
Alto Sax! Im in 8th grade but im enrolled in marching band and high school band and in that class, we are playing this song
probably my fav band somg so far
My college band performed this last year
I had to play suspended cymbal on this piece. Nothing else. Just 6 measures of playing in this whole song.
Theme From Green Bushes??
Needs a lot more flute at the beginning, and it needs to go MUCH faster...but I understand how this song is for young bands.
its specificly arranged to be slightly easier, for interdmedate bands. but ya know... michel sweeney
My whole band class agreed that this sounds like it has something to do with Robin Hood. My idea was him marching a bunch of magical creatures and the merry men to a castle
I played in band for 4 years
We played this song in 6th Grade and played in front of of a crow in the central park near our middle school
Another great Song is
The Night Song
By : Richardo L
I found a video of me playing this and had to research to remember what it was. Luckily, I remember another piece from Granger “Horkstow Grange”
Anyways, I’m glad I found this. I love it!
I play flute 😁

I’m playing this now
Y is it so slow?
Rammy Ramos because it’s a bar a second
It sounds a little better at 1.25x
use 2x speed lolol
Band class am I right
I'm playing this at my school right now
Any other flutes?
finest
We sight read this and for
some reason it went totally wrong (maybe because most of the band had too easy parts and got bored of it)
Or because it was sightreading
@@livispuzzled 💀
no lol its because it fundamentally is a hard piece... it is easy to sightread but playing as a whole band sight reading is hard... you have to have a really good conductor, and the tempo changes are hard to sight read
I swear the rest of the trumpets could never get this song right
Making me feel like I'm sailing the seven seas like God damn
I loved playing this, I play the oboe
I also play oboe !!! I'm super excited to play this:DD
1st clarinet and oboe
I play the flute
It sounds a lot like Grainger's Green Bushes
Tots cool gurl
I play clariphone.
(I swear if someone says something like, "ITS CALLED A CLARINET YOU IDIOT" I will find them. I KNOW WHAT IT IS CALLED) lol
…For whom the bell tolls! 🔔…
Princess peach
It’s good it’s just too slow
I played this song while I was in 7th grade but it was a combined band with 8th grade, but it still sounded like crap
alto sax 4 life
Does anyone know the tempo of the song
fast
SCBDA All-state junior level anyone? 2020
I play trombonr but im.rlly wishing i chose tenor sax or horn rn😂😂
It’s never too late to switch
@@mitchelljroth kinda is...im in high school and i cant switch right in the middle😂 id be so held back lol
I guess that can’t happen unless there were no hornists in the band, and you switching would raise the total to 1
Work on your high range. If you can play past a very high B-flat, it can help. Also directors like even numbers of horns usually
@@mitchelljroth hmm. I can def play higher than Bb right above the scale but ill consider. There's already one other horn, but we're both moving up a level so idk how many are in the higher band lol
Xeriffe dang if there’s only one than they may want another
Y’all, why are there no oboist in the comments that are playing this song? Oboe in band playing this btw.
Anti_Zac we barely have an oboes in my band 😂
We have one oboe who is just now learning how to play it
K Morgan when’s your concert?
this is giving slowed tiktok audio
8th grade flutestes here ( probably spelled that wrong)
Playing this in my freshman year, and words cannot express how disappointed I am to be playing a song this easy and boring. I wanna kms
Ever heard Flourish for Wind Band?
I have a feeling a lot of Bollywood songs have copied this....hmmmm....
I'm playing this at my school right now
