Aerial and ground crossover moves of 2 Union Pacific trains. EJ&E SD38-2 works the interchange!

- 05/28/2022 Montour, Ia. Caught this West bound stack with the drone before the wind came up! A East bound mixed freight takes the crossover with a traditional camera view! 05/31/2022 Waterloo, Ia. Caught some random work in Waterloo with this old EJ&E locomotive. The CN uses the SD38-2 as a switcher in the area.
Thank you for documenting these trains at Montour, Iowa and at Waterloo, Iowa, Red! The drone sure shows that those crossovers east of Montour, Iowa are very gentle which allows for fast moves from on track to another track. It is nice to see the former Elgin, Joliet and Eastern SD38-2 still working.

You have the best drone views of anyone out there, and thats a fact! Ol' 665 can still pull its share of loads!, not bad for a nearly 50 year old engine! And CN is using cabooses in the Ottawa, Canada area, more for a shove platform that the normal purpose.

The drone being ion the sun side gave it nice lighting the colors were bright. Those 2 LINX cars with no scribbling is supposed to be the new name of .CRYO TRANS. It looked like the 3rd hopper car midway in the traiin was CNW. Proud to see EJ&E. #665 still grabbing a long cut of cars. US Steel roads took excellent care of their equipment. Those last 5 cars in the trains look like former Conrail hoppers with the discharge chutes cut off and bottom sealed. I can't make out the reporting marks but it looks a lot like the BIMX Behr Iron & Metal cars that pass thru Green Bay on the CN. Also BIM has a big yard on this CN line in Rockford Illinois and a smaller yard on the. UP @ South Beloit IL. Nice subjects inc Walter
Thanks Paul B! I've been having fun with the drone, couple close calls with birds. The CN has another EJ&E loco around Waterloo. I believe it is the 667. Yes the previous owners must have taken good care of those units. Hopefully the CN doesn't repaint them anytime soon.

The crossing you saw is a spur into town. The CN has a couple customers like John Deere and Northland oil that are accessed with this track.
