I remember as a very young child crying because I wanted a Pee-Wee doll at the store, but couldn't have it. Later that day my dad went back and bought it for me without my knowledge. It was on the kitchen table waiting for me the next day after school. Now, as I'm currently losing my dad, this brought that memory up. THANK YOU.
Hang on to those memories and talk to your dad about them. Even if you’re not sure he will hear or understand, trust that he will! Talk about your memories and tell him what they meant to you. Because he WILL hear you. And it will mean even more to him…I promise.
That's a really sad story, midwaymonster. I'm sorry to hear that. I hope your dad lived a long life, but based on the details you gave, it sounds like he is not that old. So I'm sorry to hear that.
Out of all the celebrities that have passed in my lifetime, only two hit me so hardi was brought to heavy sobs. Robin Williams and Paul Reubens. Both were a huge part of my childhood. When Paul passed away i felt like a part of me went with him. He taught me to be weird, silly and have fun. I was a huge pee wee fan all my life. Although i never got the chance to meet him, i miss him dearly. Thank you, Paul. Thank you for gracing my big, 32 inch, heavy console tv every saturday morning and making a lonely little boy feel like he had a friend.
When I was in high school I went to a Go Go's concert with my big sis On the campus of Illinois State University, and Pee Wee was the opening act. He just brought a huge toy chest on stage, opened it up and started playing. I loved him from then on. He was one of the most unique and enjoyable characters to ever come down the pike. Rest in peace, Mr. Reubens.
No one does this better than Scott Michaels, I look forward to all of your updates & amazing attention to detail regarding these Celebrities in both life & death.
That is one of the most sharpest looking headstones I’ve ever seen. The bow tie- what an iconic touch to remember him by. Just so beautiful. Hard to believe he’s gone. I adore the music you chose. It has so much reverence and reflection of life . Paul Reuben’s was such a creative man.
Paul and I were apparently born the same year and the same month. He's just four days younger than I am. Life is short - hold close those you love !! ❤💖 Much appreciated, Scott.

Paul Reubens last film roll was in Quiz Lady on Hulu. He filmed his scene at Paramount Studios backlot. I’m so grateful that I grew up and watching The Pee-Wee movies and Playhouse as a kid in the 80s. Loved him as I was growing up watching him on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Batman Returns, Mystery Men, Blow and on 30 Rock. Will have to stop by the cemetery to pay my respects.
I think that is the perfect headstone for him. You are missed, Paul. You brought joy in being different to us. My brother and I tuned in faithfully every Saturday to Pee-Wee’s Playhouse. Thank you for showing us the joy in being fearlessly weird!
I’m an 80’s guy and miss this era immensely! Paul was one of my favorite people and still to this day I luv watching his beautiful Art!! Ty for sharing!! He, like many other Greats as Robin Williams are at Peace and one day I will be as well! I only hope one day I have an opportunity to thank them personally for sharing those talents and emotions in their portrayals!! Long Live the 80’s!! 🙏🙏🙏✌️✌️✌️🙏🙏🙏
I am also an 80s guy. A buddy and me worked 2nd and 3rd shifts so the only time we could go to a movie theatre was in the early morning or early afternoon. He and I went to watch Pee Wee's Big Adventure one afternoon. We were the only adult men in the theatre and everyone else was about 7 years old with their moms. He and I laughed out loud and all the kids around us would look at us like we were weird. The kids in front of us would turn around and stare at us.
He meant so much to me as a child and even as an adult. My Uncle and I used to watch him together so for Christmas one year, I got him the Pee Wee Herman Doll (I was a kid) and every year since then, even now 40 years later the Pee Wee Herman Doll has sat atop his Christmas Tree as the angel. RIP Pee Wee. His marker could not be more perfect or fitting. ❤
We used to have a family van that had a TV inside of it, and back in 2016, my parents took me to a campsite where a family friend of ours was staying. This was at night, and while on the trip, I watched "Pee Wee Herman's Big Adventure" for the first time. I remember being jump-scared by Large Marge when she showed up. I unfortunately didn't watch the whole movie, but I'm going to have to find it. It was my parents that introduced me to that movie, and I wouldn't have that memory if it weren't for Paul Reubens. What a gorgeous stone, and a beautiful final resting place for an amazing man. Rest easy, Paul. Thank you for creating one of the most iconic characters in the world. 😔❤️
Thank you for the laughs and gentle reminders to let our inner child be free, dear Mr. Reubens. What a lovely final resting place. May you do so in peace.
Pee Wee's playhouse was the first show I could watch with my kids and enjoy so much. I miss him so much. Thanks for this video. Made me quite emotional. Long live Paul Reubens in memories and may he rest in peace thereafter. Love that guy so much.
Paul Reubens was one of those people who would live forever. I was devastated when he died. I part of me died too. Thank you for the beautiful vid. I'm hoping to visit his grave sometime before the end of the year.
Watching this and hearing Paul as Pee Wee in that iconic voice make a joke about his grave and its placement. I loved Pee Wees Playhouse. I hope you are having fun and making everyone laugh on the Other Side. Thanks Scott.
Beautiful tribute to a unique talent. I've loved Paul Reubens since I first saw Pee Wee's Big Adventure on cable in 1985 or 86. Before that I dismissed the character as some kid's show thing. Thank you, Scott.
He was a huge part of my childhood...as many of the other people on this post. I'm glad that he finally has his final resting place, and what a beautiful spot. Rest well Paul
Ah Pee Wee❣️ You brought us laughter and joy. Rest in eternal peace, tranquility, and free from human fragility. Thank you Paul Reubens for creating the adorable and sassy Pee Wee Herman. 🌻🚲🎪🦖
The date of Paul Reubens / Pee Wee Herman's. Date of passing away. Is the exact date my Late Mother. Alice "Katie" Pike-Chipman. Date of Birth, which for her was July 30th, 1940. Too bad my mom did not make it. She passed away on August 25, 1991, the saddest day of my life.
It seems to me to be the perfect place for Paul to be. The cemetery is beautiful and so iconic. I know it was in pretty bad shape 30 or so years ago and I'm so grateful that it is being looked after now.
Thanks for sharing... Oddly, I've never seen someone walk across so many graves. I was taught to only walk in front of the marker so that the body wasn't disrespected.
Thank you!!! I was mortified to hear he'd not been interred properly. Goodness ... Now we can all rest (knowing HE's at rest). Always liked his programs he did - he was so funny! Rest while on your continued journey to your creator in love and peace, Mr. Paul Reubens.
