I paid $150 for a postage printer in 2021 and have has several people who hook things like this up to either my Mac or my LG tablet no one could do it so now I Listed it so I can get another, I was using Merci but after seeing what they did to you Im trying to list my things elsewhere.
LOL "bummy look" you look great. I love the fact you get excited about bubble wrap. The packing & shipping aspect is definitely a"shipping fear" for me. The first item I sold on eBay from my Ancestors estate I ended up losing $5 In shipping charges. It was an Aladdin Style teapot but the tip of the lid was broken. Not missing just broken. I only put it up for 9.99, ended with only one bid so I made more than one mistake on this sale. I used the suggested shipping info when listing but I used a box larger than 12 x 12 not realizing it would be a higher fee. I used bubble wrap to wrap each piece and tape it. Then filled the box with packing paper to ensure it would not move inside. After the eBay fees I got 4 cents.
Thank you, thank you! Shipping is my last hurdle to overcome. Your video has helped me so much. I will watch your other shipping videos as I need to learn about what scale to buy and possibly a label maker. Ugh…. I will get there. I am 59 years old and trying to supplement our income, so hopefully I will get it together before I turn 60…lol. Thanks again!!
Kat, I cannot thank you enough for your inspiring words today! I really needed to hear this. I told my husband that I wanted to give up and sell all my inventory at a yard sale! Now I know I am going to hang in there..as this is my passion! I found my "why" and I will do better to list and not spend so much time on each listing! Thank you again!!!!
You are awesome! Thanks for all the help. I partnered with a little independent gift store. I get all my boxes free and have more bubble wrap from their shipments than I could ever use. They are thrilled to not have to break all those boxes down 😀
@@charleneferguson7564 Hey Charlene, almost anyone can do this. I used to own a brick and mortar store. We had a few people we would call who needed boxes. Just check in with anyone in your community that has an independent shop. They probably would be glad to hand over packing material and boxes. 🙂
While watching your video today, I listed a handmade Chinese pottery bowl. Literally an hour later it sold. I bought it for $2 and sold it for $15 + $10.15 shipping. I was in shock at how fast this sold. So following your shipping tips, I did calculated shipping (I have a digital food scale that worked great) and I got it to the Post Office within an hour. I was only off by $.80 on shipping. Thanks Kat!

At shipping time, I am exactly accurate. It is a range of weights and I am always spot on. Rarely an error. Try it. It is so easy!!! Best advice, when thrifting, look for small items with good possible profit. Big items are a nightmare. FYI the post office will rarely pay out for a Priority claim. I have been denied EVERY time.

Thanks for another great video, Kat! I try my best to securely pack the item without adding too much weight that will bump me up into the next tier of pricing for 1st class. Usually the jump in pricing from one tier to another is not drastic, but savings add up over time! - if you are shipping something not too large, but heavy, try using the free priority Regional A boxes from the post office. I sell a fair amount of 22 oz Yankee jar candles. Once I securely pack them, they usually are around 4 pounds. They fit perfectly in the Regional A box (there are 2 different shapes/dimensions available - for the candles I use the boxes that are similar to the shape/size of a shoebox). I live in NJ. When I use a Regional A, the postage is calculated at a 2 pound price, regardless of how much it weighs (up to 15 pounds). This saves me a lot when shipments are going to the West Coast. They also offer Regional B boxes in 2 different shapes/dimensions that accommodate up to 20 pounds. Safe travels! Looking forward to hearing/seeing how your trip went!

With calculated shipping how do you know what to charge when you do not know yet where the package is being mailed to? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't shipping charged by the distance from the seller to the buyer? Thank you for your reply!
I always use newspaper. I have a friend that saves it for me. It really helps to pad things. Never have had anything break. I had mentioned that I use it for packing with another reseller ( the niche lady) and she said if she bought something from me and I used the paper for packing she would never buy from me again! I thought really, who the hell do you think you are! I didn't say anything back, but I thought it was pretty classless what she said. At least I'm not using peanuts that just sit in the landfills. If I have some yes that or packing pmaper
Do not bother with her video's after that.
@@irisscally950 we re use newspaper for padding if we get items in it
@@irisscally950 THAT is just insane if you ask me!
@@mobysmom I know, right.
Saving this video, thanks!
No problem!
I love this I’m new to posting on TH-cam and I was going to post a shipping video - it’s not a fun topic but you need to know the price and best way to ship items !!
Thank you !! Ward the reseller
You're welcome!
Thanks for the shipping video!
No problem!!
Hi thank you for showing us it was very helpful. Question on the priority boxes do I use the outer dimensions or inside dimensions when adding them in my shipping. And do poly mailers need all dimensions like length width and height. Thank you again 💓
Outer dimensions and yes for poly put length x width x 1

Good morning Kat and Dalton,
Kat, I think your glasses are very attractive. You look great in them.
Thanks for this video. I got some great tips.
Should I return boxes to USPS that I ordered early on but have never used?
Thanks, Linda
ThriftyBoomerGal
i would and honestly am thinking of doing that for sizes i don't use!
Plus they take up so much room.
Always so informative! I am trying to better understand how to use cubic shipping on Pirate Ship. I first heard about it on last week’s discussion panel. Could you better explain the use and how to access on a future video? Thank You!
I rarely use it unless it's OFF platform sales like my live haul and live auctions. The only time it's more beneficial is if you have a small VERY heavy item
Great Video! I just retired from Teaching after 31 yrs and am trying to get back into reselling so I can afford health insurance that the district no longer pays for.. I used to dropship Doc Martens on ebay 20 yrs ago but everything on ebay has changed dramatically!!! Anyway, Question: I ordered some priority medium mail flat rate shipping boxes from USPS without really knowing what I was doing. 😆 Can I use those boxes for priority mail ebay bought shipping even though it's not "Flat Rate" that I am sending my sold item. Thank you for your help. I appreciated it very much. Amy
No they will still charge you flat rate which 9 times out of 10 is more
P.S. Love your glasses!!! Where did you get them??

Glad you think so!
Please help! I am seller for about 18months. I am in PA, USA. I used to be able to ship to Puerto Rico with regular USPS shipping. Since I opted into international shipping with ebay, custpmers from PR are getting charged for International shipping. Any advice? I was wondering why I have not had any orders from PR lately. Thank you
I don't know why they did this it was a change not long ago, super frustrating!
Thankyou so so much!! You are awesome!!
Happy to help!
... Thanks for your explanation as to how you do this.. How do you calculate Global Shipping into the final cost??
I do all calculated shipping global is calculated the same as it is for US buyers they pay the fee according to dimensions and weight
You did this just for me.
I hope it helped
Thx kat
You're welcome
Oh my goodness what a lot of work...
Yeah it's definitely not a walk in the park
