I have also looked around "local pickup" and cannot get it to the listing to say: "shipping:freight" like yours.
When I am listing on ebay and I select flat rate freight, am I just putting in the estimate I would get from uship for the furniture? Do you find the buyers get put off when they see the amount for shipping?
you can't know the estimate because it varies depending on the buyers location. for example close by might be 200 while across the country is 500. I put local pickup as the option as well as freight and tell buyers to message me with the zip code for a estimate and that's where I use uship estimate

I have watched this video multiple times and I also follow Bradford on a fb page. I have several pieces of EA and have one nightstand ready to be posted. I did a free quote to So FL to get the most it could cost for freight (I'm in Seattle). The two offers were over$2000. I don't know how to make any profit at that kind of shipping price. Any advice?
If you look at my ethan allen pieces they are all listed local pickup only but in description I tell them to message me with zip code for a quote then I get an estimate on uship (they have been super accurate) and then I give it to the buyer. Mine have went pretty much on my own coast as shipping to the opposite is insane as you see.
That's awesome! I know who you're talking about, that person makes a killing with furniture, I'm looking all the time for EA furniture or anything EA and can't find anything. People are to cheap here I guess..lol Awesome video and Info.
Funny, I suspected I knew the FB group and the person you were referring to and sure enough, your comment confirmed Bradford! I’m out west and have never seen EA out in the wild. Maybe a couple end tables in rough condition. I can’t get into the bigger pieces though. I only have an SUV and a teenage son to help with muscle. I will do small tables, desks, and lots of chairs though! Mostly I just do it on FBM. My one attempt at a big item on eBay didn’t do anything. UShip was estimating $450 though
I flip furniture locally but I'd love to list on ebay. So how did you know how much to charge the buyer before getting the quote? Did you charge $800 for the piece and it included the shipping or did you charge the $800+ and they paid the $300 more? I sell large 6 piece kitchen tables.
Oh uship it gives a estimate and I do a little more than the minimum they estimate. You can get quotes on any pieces including kitchen tables. I did 800+ the estimated freight cost (which was spot on!) it does take up to a week for someone to pick up the quote though which was kinda scary! I have done one other so far!

You are welcome!
I have also used Uship for wholesale inventory--even if it's on pallets some of the uship drivers have larger vehicles that can handle pallets cheaper
Interesting, I'm going to have to keep that in mind!
Thanks for the tip!
I am looking into selling furniture on ebay, but was trying to figure out if you offer freight how do you show proof of delivery on ebay if shipping through uship?
I just have marked it as shipped ebay never asked for proof of delivery with my freight items!
is Matt insured? how do you list the shipping on ebay?
He is but this is years old, for on ebay I list freight shipping which you can only do on a computer and I tell them to message me with their zip code for a quote :-)
Has anyone used Uship to pick up furniture items from out of state auctions? Not much EA here where I live, especially in good shape.
I have thought about it, but the issue is most auctions are ONE DAY pickup and finding a freight company to be there the exact day and times is almost impossible. You'd hav eto find auctions willing to hold items for you
so interesting! i know EA is expensive when new, but i had no idea it resells for so much. way to think outside of the usual ebay box!
YES!!! It can be great profit!!
God bless you and your family and another great video and thanks for sharing and keep them great videos coming and I send you and your love ones lots of blessings always and stay bless
Thanks so much
Thank you for the great content. I want to know if you have offered return for all your furnitures sold and if you have how do you arrange the reverse logistic ? Thanks.
I have not offered returns on funiture
@@TheNurseFlipper Thank you ! This video is very helpful and informative !
Hello great video! How do you charge a buyer the shipping cost?
You can get estimates on uship. I haven't been doing much furniture since gas went up
@@TheNurseFlipper thank you so much for your reply, got an offer for a piece of furniture i had but I don't know what to do once I take the offer, will eBay allow me to send her an invoice for the shipping cost?
Thank you so much! Hello do you tip the driver when they pick up?
No, I haven't because they're individual contractors so they're getting that whole payment. So, I don't feel there's a need to
@@TheNurseFlipper Thank you so much! Truly appreciate your content 👏💕
Great info! I want to ship some furniture on ebay via freight but when creating a new listing, I am unable to locate the choice of "freight" for a shipping option. Any advice on how to so so? Thanks
I put local pickup and then in my listing I put details of freight. if you go to my eBay store and search ethan allen you'll see what I put in mine
@@TheNurseFlipper Thank you for the info...I have (since receiving your feedback) looked at your active ethan allen listings and still cannot get it to look like yours. 1. I have tried "sell similar" on your Ethan Allen Listings and shipping displays on one: "usps parcel select ground" & another is showing "usps priority." 2. I have also looked around "local pickup" and cannot get it to the listing to say: "shipping:freight" like yours.
@@pcox5386 you can only change to freight on the computer not on a phone maybe that's why
Question do you have more furniture 🪑 videos? Updates 3 years
No, this is the only one I haven't sold very much recently
So, you don't have to package it or anything like that?
No, not if using uship
Thanks for this helpful video!!
You're welcome!
@@TheNurseFlipper thank you! I didn’t want to put local pickup because I’m selling a bed and mattress and would not be able to meet the buyer with everything and would not like for them to know where I leave. However, it looks like I would have to input a price. Not sure if I could leave it blank?
@@Mania101 you can put local pickup but then in description put freight only
@@TheNurseFlipper ahh okay. Thank you for the help!
great info and so glad you first furniture sale when so smooth 👍 I'm going to check out the uship site because I'm curious how the insurance works...say if you ship an expensive mirror and it arrives to buyer damaged or cracked... what happens then 🤣 I just happen to have a lrg mirror that I need to sell LOL Thanks for sharing all the info and vid clips!!
LOL LOL I try to think positive
@@TheNurseFlipper it's good to think positive 😀😀😀 but I also like to be proactive LOL...especially with Ebay ALWAYS siding with buyer...just had a switch a roonie buyer....returned an item...but not the one I sent....ebay gave them their $100 bucks back...me ...nothing.
@@sweedon7 that sucks
Very informative Kat! Cheers 💃
Glad it was helpful!
I've been using Matt for almost 4 years now. Never a complaint.
Bradford! The inspiration behind it all lol :-) Glad ya stopped by!
Thank you this is helpful. You may want to pull away from your camera a bit, the ring from your lighting is reflecting on your pupils and it gives a slightly unusual appearance to your eyes. Best of luck to you.
This video is a few years old so equipment has since been updated :-)
I want to try this I see a few Ethan Allen on my local places
It's not hard, some takes quite a long time to sell so you need space, but it is good profit
Hello 👋
How's your business doing?
I just set an area so I can flip some furniture part-time.
Is good I don't do a ton of furniture anymore but just used uship this week to ship a large painting
@TheNurseFlipper ah ok. Well, either way, I hope your business venture is doing well.
Thanks for posting this experience shipping larger items.
I was thinking if everything goes well, I would want to sell my items on etsy or eBay. I just had no clue how the shipping process was until I saw this video.
@@TheNurseFlipper hey Kat! Is there a reason why you don’t do ship anymore? I am about to list an MCM coffee table. Just wondering if it ended up being a negative experience? I’m on the fence about doing it lol

Thomasville and Bassett
@@TheNurseFlipper thank you 😊
Interesting that you didn't have to do any packing.
Exactly!
Great info on shipping big items
Glad it was helpful!
Another furniture brand, in case no one else mentioned, is Drexel Heritage.
that hadn't been yet! Thanks so much
Now what city n state do you live in?
We are in North FL
Awesome video and now it is time for me to branch out and look for some Ethan Allen lol
You should!
Lexington seems to be a profitable brand.
Thank you!!!
That's awesome! I know who you're talking about, that person makes a killing with furniture, I'm looking all the time for EA furniture or anything EA and can't find anything. People are to cheap here I guess..lol Awesome video and Info.
yeah it's super hard to find and yeah Bradford is great wealth of info!!!
@@nikkig8549 It looks like if you can find the pieces they will pay. There is ALOT of it around here but most is priced too high to be profitable
Thank you! I'm going to try it out!
@@Wisteria_Lane let me know how it goes!
Yes that's what i do! You can make tons money of by flipping furniture. I sell on Etsy
May I ask what brands you do? I have really only done Ethan Allen
@@TheNurseFlipper i sold many pieces Ethan allen. All my pieces are high end furniture like Pensylvania House, Henredon, Berkey &Gay.. etc. by the way Lingerie Chests sell fast. I just sold one for $775 and it has no brand, solid wood made in Taiwan. I paind $35 for it
@@TheNurseFlipper mid century do very well now. While you're thrifting go look at furniture. Yard sales are the cheapest if you want to buy good quality furniture
@@hananhope5468 thank you!
And one more tip if you find any cute accent end tables for $5, $10 get it. You can sell it on marketplace for $30, $40... mybe $70 if it's very good quality.
Excellent video thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Thx !!!! For this video !!!
No problem!!
I need to sell my chair I’m just sable it’s a recliner brand new just bought it but the store will not take it back The one that I want is $1000 well 1100 with taxes I don’t know how to sell this chair and I need help
If it's not name brand then I would try craigslist or facebook marketplace. If it's a good brand you can list it on ebay for pickup only or freight and use uship to ship it. Be aware furniture on ebay takes a while to sell
Hi Kat, I hope you are all having a great trip. When you were in PA, you were a hop skip and a jump from my in NJ. I have some questions on furniture that I'm sure you will be able to answer or at least point me in the right direction. I have some Ethan Allen of my own I am looking to sell. Right now I have them listed for local Pickup. I a Shaker table, A Triangle table an Arts and Craft Table lamp and a Iron Floor lamp. I was watching your video on using USHIP and was wondering although the Iron lamp is heavy all the pieces I can lift. My question to you is, would you still use USHIP to Ship them or would you stay at local pick up. Anything I make on these pieces is a 100% profit since they were awarded to me lol Thank you in advance for your help and knowledge.
I would do uship so you are open to more of an audience!!
@@TheNurseFlipper thank you. Would you mind if I called on your guy Matt
@@sherylnawoj7991 honestly he didn't answer after this video for me but you can try. I just place a order and then compare reviews for those that accept
@@TheNurseFlipper thank you again for the help. I’ll keep you posted if that’s ok
@@sherylnawoj7991 yes that's great
Wasn’t there a reality show about freight carriers? Or am I imagining that?
LOL I think there was! I never watched it though, and I think someone said it was about people bidding off uship just like this!
I watch the same guy he does really good selling
Yes, it's insane! I have not been lucky enough to find much Ethan Allen!
@@TheNurseFlipper me either or it’s to high for me.
I've known about Ethan Allen for awhile now. And I was at an estate sale a few weeks ago on half off day and they had 2 nightstands. They only wouldve been 95.00 for the pair. But the shipping scared me away. But I think I just might give it a shot.
It's really not that bad especially with the items that are smaller like night stands! That sounds like it would've been a great buy!
