I sell vintage lamps online. They are all ceramic or glass, and they are tall. I first wrap a lamp with bubble wrap that I usualy get for free on marketplace from people who have moved. I get alot of boxes on marketplace for free too. Then, I go to walmart or big lots and buy 2 regular sized bed pillows, they are usually around $6.00 a piece. I put one pillow on the bottom, lay the lamp down, and then the other pillow on top. I keep the pillows inside the plastic they come in. It always fits around the lamps perfectly and the best part is that the buyer gets 2 new pillows to use for free. Keeps packing materials out of landfills. I also buy large rolls of contractors paper at lowes in the paint department. I tear off pieces, crumple them up and fill in with that if there are areas that need fill. The contractors paper is very thick so it's sturdy and when crumpled provides alot of resistance and support around my lamps. I've been successful with this way of shipping, hope it helps some others. Cheers!
I love watching the insta pak expand. I work for a packaging company who sells this. One of my co workers said she used to bring them to her son's football games and sit on them after she activated them...they kept her tush warm...LOL! Yall did a great job showing how they work. Thanks for sharing
Thank you. You have a very good business head 👏 and are salt of the earth person for sharing your knowledge. I love your cute son Dalton. He seems to have your sweet nature!
Love your help. Your a sweetie. That child of yours……oh my gosh, he is adorable. Good job mom. I want to resale so bad, but O can’t find anyone that has the time to show me how to get on line, make me a name. I’m an old hippie from the 70’s,changed for the straight way, keep your help coming.you don’t worry about those old negative people you and George got this.😋
I do double box. I get free boxes at Dollar Tree for plates and mugs. Monday afternoon they are restocking from the weekend and they are happy for me to take some boxes.
Mine isn't a issue of boxes to double box it's the fact that you could go into oversized packaging costing your buyer or yourself $10-$20 more for shipping
@@TheNurseFlipper I haven't had that problem. I use a small tight fitting box or sometimes a couple if there are several pieces inside one that is about two to three inches larger all the way around. I stuff it with paper and have never had a broken item. It weighs about 6 to 12 oz more but I add that in to my shipping weight. It usually adds a couple of dollars. I do sell mostly smaller items.
Thank you for doing this informative video. My husband started doing to with me. He watched some of your videos so our first estate sale be bought a bunch. I must admit that I was mezmerized by your son playing with his brown dog. So very cute, because of watching them I had to rewind the video. LOL. Finally saw the video and I thank U for the packing tips. Enjoy the weekend.

Because of you, I made a great haul at the garage sales today, I with I could share photos of what I bought. I bought a beautiful Quilt, a Helena Ruth, Wool blanket, made in Ireland, 2 beautiful Mexican Blankets, one multi-color and one in purples. I bought everything for $2.00 each Except the awesome Quilt and I paid $10.00 for it. I am working on getting things to open my EBay store with. Thank you for opening my eyes on what to look for! YOU ROCK!
Thank you so very much for this video. One of the main reasons I did not want to become a reseller is that I was terrified about packing. However, I may push past my fear and give it all a try one day. Thank you for all of your videos. I really do appreciate your knowledge.
OK, so, to start, here's the obligatory "I'd have done it different." But it really doesn't matter. As long as it gets to the destination safely and the customer's happy that's what matters. Definitely going to look into the instapak. Simply because of the time savings if nothing else.
Lol. Make that man work. Love it. Definitely will start looking for bubble wrap. I don't have a lot of storage, but once I get my room organized I should have room.

Not used once on any of my pkgs. Wish they had. I LOVE great packing!! How cool to see a new way to ship. Thanks again, Kat!! You are one great packer!!
I bought some instapaks for some bronze statues I have for sale. They pretty heavy and figured normal bubble and packing paper wouldn't cut it....I also learned how well packing peanuts work for fragile items, even though I HATE packing peanuts.
@@TheNurseFlipper I've only been using it for these diecast airplanes cause of all the propellers and things sticking off them. Have had no complaints of damage yet.

Good stuff and I have never heard of insta pak. I sold some expensive porcelain horses recently and the buyer told me to use pillow forms and I had to trace the horse body on the form after I cut it in half. Then carve out the horse form and then do the other side for the horse. Then put little tiny pieces of foam between the legs and tail and then on the ears. Time consuming. But worth the 2000. Now I need to learn how to pack lamps. ty
