Both cities are nice. Auckland is bigger and more multicultural. Wellington is more quiet and laid back.

Water rates depend on the city. In Auckland for us it costs about 40 NZD a month. Electricity usage depends on the season and provider, and the bill fluctuates between 80 - 160 NZD a month for us.
