Grim indeed, but still beautiful and fun to watch at least!! Good afternoon guys and Dexter! The Montgomery Canal looked very fall like along your cruise this week. Was really interesting to hear of all the working being done on that extension of the Canal. I will bet you will be back sometime during Spring or Summer and would look just amazing. So happy that Morning Star sold so quickly even though you will miss her as your first love. She was amazingly beautiful. Her fit out as for colors outside and in was selected with all the most attention to detail and care as will the Second Morning Star. We wait with anticipation!! May the new boat bring as much joy and superb traveling adventures in the future. Dean and I (and pups Johann and Greta) of course will be along for the ride. Wishing you a lovely weekend. Hi guys, just catching up on your last two vlogs. Paul, you are a natural at managing those locks on your own but it’s so much more work when it’s only one person. You wouldn’t be attempting too many in one day. Great to see you again Anthony, you covered some miles getting to and from work. No wonder you were tired. The time, planning and obstacles which have to be faced when restoring only a small section of canal is eye-opening. Guessing 8 years for that part plus funding will mean quite a while before the whole 30+ miles is restored but its great that it is underway. The water level looked a bit on the low side at the start of the Vlog, but guessing all was OK. The Canal engineer, was really interesting to listen too. Anthony, you must be worm out with your long commute. Paul was funny with all his hints for you to make him a cup of coffee. Your chimney was giving out more smoke than I had seen before. Hey. Good to be back thank you. The water has been hit and miss this year. Was great that David took time out to talk to us. It is great work they do. Paul always hints for coffee. I think we had just lit the fire and initial start creates a bit of smoke.

Nice vlog as usual. Relaxing start to the journey. Interesting hearing about the restoration. Here in Lichfield, Staffordshire a team of volunteers are working on restoration of the Lichfield & Hatherton Canal. Looked as if you where making your own fog to this trip.

So he said it took eight years to do 750 m and they are going to do the next 750 m. Well that is about half a mile so it’s going to take them a very long time to get to 30 miles isn’t it. Hopefully part of that canal is already okay and they’re just having to fill in the gaps so that it doesn’t take too long and people can actually walk it within their lifetime.
The project so far has taken eight years but I think that involved planning, raising funds and all the prep work such as making the peat bogs solid enough for the canal. I don’t think it’s going to take that long to carry on with the rest of the restoration. It will be amazing when it’s fully restored. Thanks for watching 👍
I know. It really is a slow process. I am not sure that is will be complete within my lifetime but thankful people want to restore til his important piece of history. Hope you have a fab weekend and take care ❤

Hello, have t been around a bit, just that time of year I hibernate and had cold/flu/bronchitis for 6 weeks, finally gave in and went to doc, antibiotics and cortisone and I’m much better now and FINALLY stopped coughing. Interesting to learn about the continuation of the Montgomery canal as it heads towards Newtown, although disappointed to learn that the 'Golden Brick' was a brick painted with yellow paint. I was about to get my magnet fishing line ready.
