One man lies dead, the other seriously wounded. But the resourceful Miss Addleton cannot believe the police's version of events, and engages Holmes to save her father's good name.
Most if not all based on references from original SH stories. Usually thing like Watson referencing we'd just finished the Case of X when the Adventure of Major Original Story began.

Peter Cushing. Maybe not given the chance to show all of his talents due to the lower budgets and production values at Hammer, but he himself was a marvelous actor.

I didn't recognise it by title but once I got into it, realised I had heard before. Enjoyed it again tho!
it is not by Arthur Conan Doyle, it is a so called new story by Bert Coules, they are all on BBC sounds.

English accents do not seem to be native.
As far as I know all of the main players are British. Might be the very formal Victorian / Edwardian accents, or maybe Merrifield's unique delivery.
