It seems to me that many comments are inwardly selfish, on how the condition does not fit their own personal needs (mold, paint and such). This person has spent untold hours preparing for others, to see that others share from his wisdom and preparation. Not all of the nooks and crannies were shown, as well as the redundant systems in place. Radiation may not be the current hazard, but, it looks as though many of the life threatening conditions could be lived through in this bunker system. Many will look at an elderly gentleman as a kook and eccentric, but the matter of fact is, that he did his life's work after retirement to provide for others. I'm seeing black mold. If there was just some way to dry it out and refresh it. Thanks for the video. I always wondered what it looked like. I've heard about it for years..
There needs to be a dehumidifying air exchange system put in place to keep things from turning to mildew, mold and rot and also to keep people healthy. It's a phenomenal project, Mr. Beach's dedication and his intent should be memorialized.
Ive been emailing Bruce. I had no idea he passed. We had an arrangement with him over 7 years ago now. Please message me regarding this. We still have the large solar panels, filtration etc that we were bringing with us.

This must have been an incredible concept in his mind when it first came to him. Too bad he wasn't still young and strong when he started working on it..
If confronted with a real nuclear or other catastrophe I would stay a few nights there with my kids. It's a fascinating project by an obviously brilliant and caring man, but if his plan was for women to run it...well, to be honest, women wouldn't want to. It's barely functional. It would take loads of money and even more elbow grease to get it in safe, clean, liveable condition - even as short-term shelter. Wet, moldy (I could almost smell it as you looked around), full of bugs and mice. I guess this is a case of over-planning, where a smaller vision would be much more practical and acheivable. I can certainly understand his children washing their hands of the whole thing. Anyway, thanks for filming this man and his dream, he deserves to be remembered.
Just having constant ventilation would be a start. It seems there's no grid power connection, which is a real shame. It sitting, still air, moisture penetrating, has destroyed so much of their infrastructure and supplies from rot and rust
If nuclear bomb were dropped, will the generator gets destroyed bcoz it is in the land level. Sorry for my english, i can't spoke out whats on my mind.
Hullaye crap AMAZING this guy has a vision you had honor to see this man dream. Much respect to dreamer, put it dream into action totally awesome..glad I got to see this thank you
It’s a cool idea, may try and visit. But, it looks like a lot of mold rust and a damp space, seems like it wouldn’t be healthy. I definitely see the point of having the generator as backup but I'm surprised he doesn't have Shore Power it would definitely help with the situation in the bunker, over the long-term and if it ever does need to be used the cleanup wouldn't take nearly as long and no one would get sick.
Wow, he has family but I guess they were never interested in taking over, helping out etc. In this day and age... there are a ton of leeches out there who would probably like to get their hands on all this. I wouldn't trust anyone who asks for a tour. Shame its run down... the 80's weren't that long ago and yet everything here looks incredibly aged and/or rotted out. Like it was never used in any kind of operation or maintained. Almost like it was all made, set up and that was it, left to sit after that. You cant go big like this with all that inventory and just let it rot out. If nobody takes this over and maintains it.... its gonna be completely rotted out and buried. Real nice man, interesting. This is the biggest hobby project ive ever seen.
We all deal with trauma and stress in many ways. I'm more curious as to what happened to this man to which he focused his PSTD into saving the world. The time and investment is remarkable and makes me wonder on other persons and how they rescue themselves and/or others to heal their way. School buses are cheap and a good idea, but they represent, safety, youth, education, comradery and community. Nuclear war, the final evil, total destruction, finding a way to survive and "cope" with that nightmare evolves in many ways. This project, seems like this mans therapy and I think he came out on the other side where hope and love are manifest.
he bruce you can sole your problems of your flickering led lamps by using ip protected fittings thats ingrease of moisture ok the plug in ones are ok but the electronics will fail in the led lamps electronics and moisture just dont go together end of story i used to be a maintenace electrician for twenty years thats how i know
While I agree it needs a good clean up, if the options are nuclear fallout and radiation poisoning, versus a chance at survival, I think most people would take their chances with the rat poo. This is about surviving, not luxury. If SHTF, the people surviving will be the ones willing to deal with conditions like this for a short time, because the outside world will probably be far more lethal
Hey! I was looking to visit Bruce in the next coming weeks. I was wondering what the experience was like and typically what to expect when I arrive. Thanks
@@ladyguerlain3707 Ended up making plans to visit, but did not end up going. Did not feel comfortable visiting and putting myself in an uncertain situation.
Black mold and mouse/rat shit. I love the place and idea but its more like a death trap. Ill take my chances with radiation. Maybe ill be the next hulk LOL
If there is away to get ahold of him. Tell him I will gladly take over his project after he is gone. I have tons of ideas. I would add little houses that branch off kinda like hotel rooms but under ground.
@@Freaktography The community nearby has the same concerns. This place needs more than a coat of paint and a good cleaning. It needs major infrastructure changes and equipment upgrades. Hell, it should be inspected and exceed Canadian building codes for something like this, if possible.
That place is a death trap. Id rather get acute radiation sickness than get trapped or crushed down there. That 'loading area' would allow any idot with a truck and a tow strap to drive up to entrance and rip door off, then they would be able to rush small arms room and seize it before anyone could react and defend the place, trapping all the residents and leaving them at the mercy of basically any attacker. He is correct that gamma radiation as well as a and b would have a hard time, but enormous amounts of irradiated debris, many as fine as talcum powder, would get tracked or blown in, get a nice long running head start gaining momentum on downward slope and easily make their way around corner. The decontamination facilities are laughabally insufficient, and in the wrong place, they need to be right inside entrance, or 1000 people would immediately contaminate entire facility and render it useless. Its also extremely foolish to put decontamination facilities near any sort of medical facilities, obviously, so that the sick, the most vulnerable don't get contaminated. Also, doesn't appear to br anywhere or any way to store contaminated clothing or contaminated run off from showers None of the ventilation systems seem to have any overpressure protection systems, any sufficiently strong blast would travel down ventilation systems and reverbirate through shelter, a situation that would probably at least critically damage all the ventilation pipework and colapse it, stopping air supply, possibly also colapse shelter around main air intakes
Unfortunately Bruise was not supported fully. Don't know the story.. But it appears that he was left behind after a flood because it looks like there was a literal influx of water. It looks like a pile of deterioration, a place that needed upkeep like antique furniture. Hopefully his family will continue his idea. Had he continued to teach in schools with like mind professors in the USA then the USA might look differently today.
even in its hay day.....that place was built from used junk....I can't believe they walk down there....it's got to be a toxic environment....looks like a huge hoarder....seems like a nice guy....however disillusioned he was...." just needs cleaning"
I would rather die in the nuclear war than spend a decade in this shelter. Anyway respect for the afford although I do not think there will be a need for use it..
How does he plan to filter out radioactive ash for 80 years plus? He'll need thousands of gallons of gas and air filters. Nuclear radiation can go around corners as ASH. The black mold would kill most of these people as fast as the radiation. Water is 1 gallon per person, per day for emergency, let's say you can ration it to half that, they have 20 days of water. So we're assuming the water table will be fine to get this to work. I appreciate he thinks he's doing something good, but I don't see this 1. Ever being used, and 2. working as designed.
The amount of mold and rust in this place is crazy. I hope the authorities condemn this place. It is a health hazard. The cameraman coughing should be a warning. Sad.
They needed to pay him to rent this to film the TWD. Maybe for a variety of other films. He would probably be delighted. Actually, I'd pay to go through it. Does he do group tours?
he takes payment in the form of labour, if you want a tour you have to give him a few hours of time working at his house! It's a fun dal I've done it twice
I wanted to add that you did well preserving this man's legacy and dignity in his lifetime work to preserve humanity. I hope someone will take the same care and thought this man put into his work..

It just needs tlc done to it dehumidifier in there plaster walls concrete the floors reinforce it wee bit more paint boom it's brand new
Hi Urbex Dave! Amazing place. Hopefully someone will take care of it after he is gone. Be my dad putting people to work. Awesome video
This project, seems like this mans therapy and I think he came out on the other side where hope and love are manifest.
it seems he has always been a passionate man, however he and his wife did lose a son when he was very young
Not to bad considering it's 40 yrs old.
he bruce you can sole your problems of your flickering led lamps by using ip protected fittings thats ingrease of moisture ok the plug in ones are ok but the electronics will fail in the led lamps electronics and moisture just dont go together end of story i used to be a maintenace electrician for twenty years thats how i know
Cool idea... But everything needs to be scrubbed and painted... Way too much rust and rat poo and mold on everything.
thanks for watching
True
LOL.....😂👍🤣.....old coot
While I agree it needs a good clean up, if the options are nuclear fallout and radiation poisoning, versus a chance at survival, I think most people would take their chances with the rat poo.
This is about surviving, not luxury. If SHTF, the people surviving will be the ones willing to deal with conditions like this for a short time, because the outside world will probably be far more lethal
@@Freaktography lol that is a response,
As thoughtful as this man is, I'm almost possitive it would not work out. Its a Pipe-dream...No thanks
Un genio el tipo
R.I.P. Dude
This old dude looks like Liam Neeson (actor from Taken) at his 80's.
FOR like a second i thought you were talking about me LOL
May he rest in power
Hey! I was looking to visit Bruce in the next coming weeks. I was wondering what the experience was like and typically what to expect when I arrive. Thanks
KyleJeffers
Did you ever go visit?
@@ladyguerlain3707 Ended up making plans to visit, but did not end up going. Did not feel comfortable visiting and putting myself in an uncertain situation.
@@MTTPProductions Do you have Bruce's contact info?
Dame 215 I found his email on his website. Just shoot that a message and he should respond.
I really liked your outro! very cool!
Thanks I'm no longer using that one but I'm thinking of bringing it back
WOW!! Crazy!!! This guy's awesome.
Black mold and mouse/rat shit. I love the place and idea but its more like a death trap. Ill take my chances with radiation. Maybe ill be the next hulk LOL
Society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in. "
If there is away to get ahold of him. Tell him I will gladly take over his project after he is gone. I have tons of ideas. I would add little houses that branch off kinda like hotel rooms but under ground.
Why don’t you help him while he is still alive..
Definitely impressed
He needs a lot of fire extinguishers around that thing looks like a fire Nightmare and a fire in there could literally kill everyone
Haha do doubt
@@Freaktography The community nearby has the same concerns. This place needs more than a coat of paint and a good cleaning. It needs major infrastructure changes and equipment upgrades. Hell, it should be inspected and exceed Canadian building codes for something like this, if possible.
Thats is awesome
thank you Robyn
Also, doesn't appear to br anywhere or any way to store contaminated clothing or contaminated run off from showers
None of the ventilation systems seem to have any overpressure protection systems, any sufficiently strong blast would travel down ventilation systems and reverbirate through shelter, a situation that would probably at least critically damage all the ventilation pipework and colapse it, stopping air supply, possibly also colapse shelter around main air intakes
yes, sadly the shelter is not as up to standard as he says it is.
Did pretty good considering his background is linguistics and theology, not engineering
At 16:04 is that a dead racoon laying on the floor?
Whose gonna make a game based on this cause i wanna play it
Download fallout shelter on your phone
Unfortunately Bruise was not supported fully. Don't know the story.. But it appears that he was left behind after a flood because it looks like there was a literal influx of water. It looks like a pile of deterioration, a place that needed upkeep like antique furniture. Hopefully his family will continue his idea. Had he continued to teach in schools with like mind professors in the USA then the USA might look differently today.
Where is Bruce's email address? 🤔🤔 It's blank
I hear someone coughing, is it the smell or lack of oxygen.
Probably mold, that looked to be one of the wettest sections. White and black mold on a lot of things
Life time Prepper Achievement award. Never mentions once the "weapons" or opportunities he "may" get to kill other humans.
yes, a very kind, peaceful and caring man
There should be a horror game where your stuck with demons in this bunker
As of a few years ago, the Ark and Ark 2 was completely viable and sustainable.
Methinks good Bruce will pass on waiting for a nuclear war. God bless him.
He already did, Bruce passed away about one month ago
@@Freaktography Rest in Peace, good Sir.
even in its hay day.....that place was built from used junk....I can't believe they walk down there....it's got to be a toxic environment....looks like a huge hoarder....seems like a nice guy....however disillusioned he was...." just needs cleaning"
The air was very thick and stale~
If i was a millionaire i would buy and renovate, Alot of potential.
Cool. Then you can blow your million on being a scared, pathetic human, living underground like a ninja turtle and die of black mold, MAGAt
i want to buy that and pressure wash everything with acid an repaint , put a good ventilation and live there
He has a lot of great ideas. But I can see that is was not executed too well. It seems like he did most of this himself.
I would rather die in a bright light...
Yes I think when he built this at the time it may have been livable but not anymore
Not a Healthy environment to the looks of it
Would you choose this or lethal radiation?
@@johnsullivan8673 non
The amount of mold and rust in this place is crazy. I hope the authorities condemn this place. It is a health hazard. The cameraman coughing should be a warning. Sad.
They needed to pay him to rent this to film the TWD. Maybe for a variety of other films. He would probably be delighted. Actually, I'd pay to go through it. Does he do group tours?
he takes payment in the form of labour, if you want a tour you have to give him a few hours of time working at his house! It's a fun dal I've done it twice
