I did some research on this base in Italian media and it looks like it has been stripped of everything of value by thieves once the base was officially dismissed at the end of the 90s. Some even suggest that this was coordinated by someone who knew the base well, since it seemed like a professional job. Apparently at some point there was even an illegal doghouse in/near the turret you show in the video (I think), where they would raise rottweilers for either resale or illegal dog fights. It's a shame it is abandoned like this, I think it would make for a pretty cool museum about cold war, but I guess it would lose its charm as an abandoned place.
In my country, many bunkers which in coldwar were on the other side to this NATO bunker, were strip to the last piece of metal by so called "scrap metal thieves" - but do not imagine them being bunch of hillbillies with crappy handtools. Several ton heavy armored seal doors to abandoned nuclear weaponry storage magicaly dissapearing from 10 store under ground means professionals, heavy machinery, and officials looking away.

The echo makes me shiver and I try to imagine what it would feel like if all the artificial lights went out, what a horrific scenery!!!! But the way you are planning your excursions, properly and completely, I trust that in case of such an emergency you gave information about your whereabouts to good friends or even family, so that you cannot get lost. What on earth are you talking about places like this would act as a perfect place for officials to re group after the war plus the Cold War was insane
Amazing videos guys, we really love your work ! Greetings from France 🙌
France kkkkkk
Wow, this is a creepy place. Under normal circumstances I am not suffering from claustrophobia, but in this underground facility, with no daylight at all and no fresh air, this is a completely different matter. I love exploring, but I am not sure, if I would be brave enough to enter such a frightening place - well done folks!!! Oh - and by the way - I am greatly looking forward to my copy of your 2021 Calendar. :-)
I hope your new lockdown in Germany goes well and you all stay safe.
Thanks, buddy! It is starting today.
As you can see they've locked themselves into a military bunker so they'll be fine 😂 😂
@@JC-XL Good one!!
@@bwturbex Regarding the lockdown, I hope you guys teach the world the meaning of rebellion.
Well done! Love your explorations and seeing these wonderful abandoned places through your eyes. Stay safe, and greetings from British Columbia, Canada.
@18:38 Imagine taking a lovely Sunday walk out in nature and hearing that ominous sound coming from the grounds below you
🤣
I thought the same
New subscriber here from the Philippines. Your doc videos are all amazing! Detailed and well narrated.
Holy shit EMP proof lights and electronic. Surprised it hasn't been scrapped.
Why would they? Its still usable.. they didn't just forget about this place.
@@colby4181 we have different views of "usable"
After a complete restoration of the building and redoing the electrical work and the water pipes yes.it would be usable again
Bro, I saw vacuum tubes in all the electronic equipment. Salvaged would be worth thousands. Old tube bring huge money.
Macht weiter so.
Vielen Dank! Bin gespannt, was du zum Rest sagst!
Thank you so much for doing what you do!! I have always loved exploring abandoned buildings and houses but never have I done anything even close to the level you guys are on! I will live my adventures through you all! Rock on!! 💜
This was definitely one of your more risky explores. The climb in through that tunnel was something else. What an amazing place. Loving your Italy series, also can't wait to get next year's calendar 👍
Cheers! Did you grab your copy of the calendar already?
@@bwturbex I have, yeah. I have your 2020 calendar and it's awesome!
Thanks for what you do 🙏
You are very welcome!!!
Anazing guys thankyou for bringing us these uploads!👍 love from the U.K 🇬🇧
Such a cool space. Was having a panic attack when you found that huge room with the echo and I couldn’t see 😆 thanks for documenting this!
@ 14:53 you can see in the lower left hand corner of the aircraft/basing board, Comiso (GLCM) Air Station, Sicily. I was stationed there from October 1987 to October 1989. It was a Nuke cruise missile base. Lots of memories. Comiso is also abandoned now. Lots of memories.
I couldn't even watch you guys crawling through that vent......gave my hair stand on end!
We're all glad Marco had to go first. Well except Marco :D
@@bwturbex Way to be brave, Marco!
@@bwturbex I do believe this is probably only current entrance, as otherwise the bunker would look alike the ones in my country - just bare concrete. There is usualy no single piece of metal. Literaly striped to the concrete bone.
Alles gute wo immer Ihr seid.
13:10 - Yes, that's a telecommunications jumper frame, or what's left of it!
Thought so. Thanks for confirming! We only saw active ones so far.
Wow. Amazing video! The place, the quality of the edit, the music... what an experience!
Thank you for another awesome explore what a cool place I feel so fortunate to be here watching you take chances for us the viewers to see real history and for that I am grateful! I never would have known about this bunker or seen it if it wasnt for all of you taking the chance to go down there and explore! So professionally done as well👍🏻❤
Hey Thank you so much for the video.
Cheers from Brazil
Incredible place and a very, very good exploration! Greetings from another German/English explorer ;)
Gotta say that I was expecting this video for some time, I could even smell the rust! It was awesome! I'd like only to suggest you guys to wear both military grade boots and climbing helmets. Those caves and corridors could be crawing with sharp rusty metal rods! Thanks, I really enjoyed it! Loving your channel already from MX
Grazie edo jannone
You guys are incredible! That entrance would have been the point most people turned around. Also glad you guys were cautious and wore masks and did what you could to be safe. Need you guys healthy for more amazing videos like this!
You guys seriously missed out on a chance to recreate the Halo theme on a whole new level in that water reservour!
Euer Anliegen bleibt mir Unvergessen. Keine Panik.
Fantastic, another grand explore!! I'm claustrophobic to an extent, no way I'd crawl in there. But thank you guys for doing that!👍👌✌
Well we all had to overcome our fear first, nobody wanted to go first..
Every time I see videos of abandoned places I can't help but wonder how it was at its prime time when it was fully occupied and lively 🤔🤔. Thank you for sharing this.
What an intriguing and dangerous place!! Great work!!
It was not easy to document this one! Breathing and moving was tough in there.
I have just discovered your fantastic videos. I'm your instant fan. Every night I travel with you around the most incredible places. AWESOME & IMPRESSIVE!
The government must have built a new bunker somewhere.
They never abandoned a facility until they have a new one.
Depends on the budget. Seeing as the italian military has seen serious past-cold war cuts, I doubt they would just as easily build a new one.
Yes, because the old facilities are mostly too expensive to maintain, upgrade or get rid of asbestos etc it is cheaper to build from scratch
Yes because as the guy said its to expensive t maintain, and most likely the bunker is known already...
The shot of the remains amongst over grown wildlife was beautiful. Nature always wins
I was happy when you guys came out the tunnel.
We are for sure as well!!!
dude, you have such a good speaking voice. also in my professional opinion. you should do asmr or book reading.
I have problems with a MRI tube. I don’t know how you do it. God bless you all.
Thankfully nobody of us is very claustrophobic
@@bwturbex just a bit, and that's okay

Amazing video! You said this was the riskiest exploration of the Italy trip. Then what was THE riskiest trip you have ever done?
This one is about to come in 2021... hopefully. 🤞
