Just tried it, it's sticky and I used cocoa powder, and streaky and will stain your clothes , plus I don't really like the smell. I used to tan my legs with black tea, I think I'll go back to that.

you might want to add a warning for people with chocolate allergies. I'm allergic and I'm not even going to take a chance even though I'm not ingesting it. i get hives from ingesting and anaphylactic shock which causes breathing issues, so I would presume, applying it to my skin will cause hives. i have had a severe reaction from being near cocoa powder and it was painful. my entire body broke out in hives and my heart rate was racing.
Unless you’re 2 months old and brand new in life, you don’t need a warning….. You would know if you’re allergic and most specially if you’re an adult, you shouldn’t need anyone to warn you about your own allergies.

cocoa powder prob mixes better though because it's a very fine powder instead of granules of coffee . but that's just a guess!

I tried it, and you need to add a good amount of lotion for it to work, otherwise its a great substitute.
