Nioh minus some Diablo mechanics here and there but ye Nioh is incredible. I think FromSoft finally made a title I'll like more than Nioh! (Sekiro came VERY close)
Nioh’s levels dont hold up well at many points compared to soulsborne, but some are great, and the bosses are pretty damn good at times. Still, Elden Ring must lay Nioh to rest, along with many other games. Well, just there “best” soulslike titles.

I will leave the same comment until Elden Ring is released. Only 2 days remain! I already preloaded it. As the waiting period nears its end, I can't help but remember when the game was just a rumor called "Great Rune" back in 2019. We've come a long way since then, haven't we?
I will also be playing the game in 27 hours but for the sake of the countdown I will keep it like that (as it is in the videos). It comes out at 1 AM for me and I think I'm gonna play it all night long lol

I would've never added a "but", although it's just like they said in that behind-the-scenes interview with Fromsoft. Dark Souls is "a very spicy game." It's delicious, but some people can't handle the spice.
I don’t really know what to write, but I just wanted to reflect on the whole journey of this ordeal after seeing that Day 619 marker. It absolutely astounds me how long it’s been since that original trailer in 2019. Seeing how far we have come is surreal. I caught myself chuckling quietly the other day when I saw Elden Ring marketing at Walmart… it was just as I said surreal. This community is truly something special to me and I really can’t wait for this next adventure. Thank you all for the “ooohs”, the “woops”, the fake lore… everything.
Hearing your voice from the beginning sounding like an empty shell and gradually coming to life as the information started coming out is probably the best thing that happened during these long years
There's something almost poetic about this whole experience. I can't put it into words. Im almost going to miss the waiting, which sounds crazy. But when you're accustomed to something for so long, it's hard not to miss the experience it provides. The eager waiting everyday, asking "maybe today they'll show gameplay, maybe a screenshot tomorrow, etc" It's almost the same feeling I get on New years eve. Knowing that I'm looking forward to something new, and it'll be the last time I'll get to experience this year, but I have the memories of it. Im rambling but it's crazy the feeling I have right now leading up to this release. Truly a moment to remember in years to come
Day 33 of discussing the bosses in Hollow Knight. Feel free to share your thoughts on each boss fellow tarnished. Today we'll be talking about the Pure Vessel. Pure Vessel is the Hollow Knight in his prime. Grimm may be my favorite boss but this guy comes close. His soundtrack isn't intense and sounds a lot more calming. Also he is very fast. You will never get a break in this until you stun him, but even then there's only a few seconds to heal. His dash attack and sword swings are similar to his original fight, but since he's faster you're constantly keeping an eye on what he's doing. He can stab the ground to make swords appear, have shadow tentacles come out of his chest and even make multiple aoe explosions. I think he's harder than Grimm and one of the most challenging bosses to master in Hollow Knight while also being one of the best. That concludes day 33 of discussing the bosses in Hollow Knight. Also on a side note I'm so happy to hear from everyone that got early access to the game saying it's worth the hype. This is the first time a Fromsoft game has ever gotten perfect 10/10 scores and I'm just even more excited.
Please keep doing these after the release! I'm sure there will still be discoveries, community stuff, DLC, potentially ER 2 news, whatever it is I'd be sad to see these videos end when the game releases!
I’m so glad that this will pull in so many newcomers go the community. It’s like watching a new era of art unfold. People rioted when rite of spring was premiered and now it’s considered a masterpiece. So many people will have this retroactive feeling towards soulsborne after playing this and it makes me so happy.

Day 186 thanking miura by rereading multiple Berserk chapters a day and disscussing them. Day 186 : Ch 342 + Ch 343 Ch 344 + Ch 345 + Ch 346 + Ch 347 + Ch 348 + Ch 349 + Ch 350 Ch 342 : Landfall First off, Guts. Absolutely amazing. There's so much good appreciation from his side. It might be a little late, but it is so great that he got to say that. It is really hard to think what would've happened without everyone around Guts, especially as it would not have ended favourably. There's also a few panels of guts smiling in this chapter alone. There's mentioning of how time flows slower on the island. It would kind of mean that some things in the outside world would move progress faster. Speculating on that it could mean that Rickert and co already reached the Bakiraka clan. Though I don't think time would've moved too much forward and have dramatic consequences. Especially with the last chapter meaning that another month has passed since the last time moonlight child appeared (full moons are every month, and there shouldn't be a disconnect between the moon on the island and outside, otherwise it'd create chaos). It is mentioned how they could become cut off from the outside world. Maybe Guts notes that particularly much due to him wanting to get cut off from the outside world which had been changed by Griffith. Ch 343 : Flame Puppet Isidro and Mustache Knights fights sections are probably my favourite this chapter. They refrect their personalities really well, with Isdro trying to be flashy and announcing his win. And Mustache Knight somehow seeing a sense of justice in beating scarecrows. Mordas appearance is great. She's a rebellious figure in this place where people usually are more akin to Shierke. Though it isn't really a particularly good thing. She's just bringing in a Taboo to the fight which seems to have good reasons to be taboo. However, they were likely never educated on WHY it is Taboo, as for some reason that knowledge itself is deemed taboo, therefore she just uses it like a tool without any regard of the issues with it. Ch 344 : Village of Witches I love the fantasy aspect, it has become so interesting with the more neutral elements on elf island instead of the dark grim world with which it started. The world is drawn really beautifully and it looks genuinely fun. One of the more lighthearted chaoters too, with the arrival at Elf island the mood is extremely good. I don't know how, but it does come somewhat unexpected. Likely because I thought it to be the end of the story when I first heard of it. I think I kind of expected it to be the first and only good thing after a long tiring journey. But things have gone pretty different from then, turning out extremely positive even before having arrived at Elf Island. I find it interesting that the oracle the magician at the start mentions uses the same definition of fate as encounters, just like Flora did. We also get to see how the magicians are within their own sphere. And with how they all differentiate themselves from outsiders things become quite toxic. That view was already a little issue on Shierke. But here the entire social atmosphere has that in it. It reminds me of high IQ societies, which are a nieche I absolutely hate, where people go absolutely insane over their superiority over others. In those it stems from a differentiation in some measured intelligence, which quickly becomes peoples reason for why they are "outcasts". Within Berserk it is moreso a differentiation by way of life alone. While outsiders engage more with fighting or tactics as a means of strength, the magicians use magic to get a form of strength (Strength here is meant EXTREMELY loosely, I just didn't wanna cut it down to "fighting" vs "magic"). However the magicians turn it into some way of making themselves feel superior. It reflects that concept of grouping people togethery which I think can be really really bad. Within their own group people will start talking the outsider group down to elevate themselves. Which naturally happens as some form of defense mechanism (I don't know psychology so take that as very loose claim, even if someone knew psychology they'd have to do a good bunch of testing before making that claim), as well as due to not knowing the outsider culure and making false estimates of it. Ch 345 : Great Gurus That's a lot of complex worldbuilding. So if I'm getting it right, the world-tree is what connects the worlds, and it had always been observed by people in slight ways even being used by sailors as navigation tool. And then there's the spirit-trees which eat off of the world tree like parasites, likely creating their own fantasy pockets. Which in the end allows the world-tree to not overlap the astral world and physical world. And we get some more confrontation of Guts to his past. I love the way it is done, it just appears semi-casually in a conversation eithout too much depth added to it. To Guts it is a large and important moment, to his companions listening in on it it is just a little surprise. It staying that shallow is booth good as it keeps Guts calm, but also bad as it doesn't really reveal to everyone what exactly happened, only stretching out that process. Ch 346 : Elfhelm I can't even do anything except awe at those absolutely gorgeous panels. I remembered the art of these becoming beyond amazing, but I couldn't remember it havinv this many amazing panels. Normally such quality is reserved for more serious tones, but here it is done just for the magical aspect and I'm absolutely loving it. Also Puck overthrowing Elfhelm is hilarious. Maybe he did it that idiotically on purpose so that Manifico would just get that dumb plan out of his head. Ch 347 : The Flower Storm Monarch Even if it is done with a joke, I love that buildup to the reveal that Danann is sure that they can help Casca. It shows her rather lighthearted personality, while also pacing out the story a bit and drag out the happy news with some lighthearted comedy. And then the dream sequences od Shiekre and Farmese begin. I think it is somewhat important to realize these are probably dream sequences on a very shallow layer, so they only represent more basic things and aren't too serious. Just randomly throwing any kind of elements together. Like Shiekre being bothered by Isidro personality and liking honey. And Farnese taking care of everyones basic things. That concludes the onehundreteightysixth day of rereading Berserk. Tomorrow is time for Cascas therapy session, hooray. I finally preordered Eldenring, will prellad it tomorrow. Hard to think that by tomorrow midnight I should already be able to play it. Though I am unsure if I wanna stay up like that, maybe I'll just wait for normal human times to play it. Likewise I also dunno if I'll do all chaoters that are left or keep a few for when eldenring is released (hope we'll get an update for then too).

they got so many awards with DS3 and BloodBorne, DS1 won the most influential game ever last year, Sekiro won Game of the year in 2019. so Fromsoftware was recognized from the start.
I just want to thank you Mordecai for keeping us updated for such a long period of time. It's funny how we never really know when and for what we hit that passion threshhold in life. I never doubted From. Not for a second. They have failed to disappoint me consistently for over a decade. And Miyazaki said at the Golden Joystick Awards that he will continue making games as long as he is able to! So this isn't even the end, even though it feels like a swan song. I hope they are proud of these scores. I sure am.
I'm hoping we see development cycles akin to what we had with Elden Ring and Sekiro. Big games with lots of dev time, like Elden Ring, and smaller, more experimental games that get developed in the meantime, like Sekiro.

I can't contain my excitement. I've played all the games and first played DS in 2011, this feels like the "ultimate" project Miyazaki has been working towards, a real FromSoft magnum opus.

From Software truly makes games that are in a league of their own. No other developer in the world gives me this feeling of joy that I have when playing these games.
Nioh minus some Diablo mechanics here and there but ye Nioh is incredible. I think FromSoft finally made a title I'll like more than Nioh! (Sekiro came VERY close)
Nioh’s levels dont hold up well at many points compared to soulsborne, but some are great, and the bosses are pretty damn good at times. Still, Elden Ring must lay Nioh to rest, along with many other games. Well, just there “best” soulslike titles.

I would've never added a "but", although it's just like they said in that behind-the-scenes interview with Fromsoft. Dark Souls is "a very spicy game." It's delicious, but some people can't handle the spice.

I don’t really know what to write, but I just wanted to reflect on the whole journey of this ordeal after seeing that Day 619 marker.
It absolutely astounds me how long it’s been since that original trailer in 2019. Seeing how far we have come is surreal. I caught myself chuckling quietly the other day when I saw Elden Ring marketing at Walmart… it was just as I said surreal.
This community is truly something special to me and I really can’t wait for this next adventure. Thank you all for the “ooohs”, the “woops”, the fake lore… everything.
Hearing your voice from the beginning sounding like an empty shell and gradually coming to life as the information started coming out is probably the best thing that happened during these long years

There's something almost poetic about this whole experience. I can't put it into words. Im almost going to miss the waiting, which sounds crazy. But when you're accustomed to something for so long, it's hard not to miss the experience it provides. The eager waiting everyday, asking "maybe today they'll show gameplay, maybe a screenshot tomorrow, etc"
It's almost the same feeling I get on New years eve. Knowing that I'm looking forward to something new, and it'll be the last time I'll get to experience this year, but I have the memories of it. Im rambling but it's crazy the feeling I have right now leading up to this release. Truly a moment to remember in years to come

Day 33 of discussing the bosses in Hollow Knight. Feel free to share your thoughts on each boss fellow tarnished. Today we'll be talking about the Pure Vessel.
Pure Vessel is the Hollow Knight in his prime. Grimm may be my favorite boss but this guy comes close. His soundtrack isn't intense and sounds a lot more calming. Also he is very fast. You will never get a break in this until you stun him, but even then there's only a few seconds to heal.
His dash attack and sword swings are similar to his original fight, but since he's faster you're constantly keeping an eye on what he's doing. He can stab the ground to make swords appear, have shadow tentacles come out of his chest and even make multiple aoe explosions.
I think he's harder than Grimm and one of the most challenging bosses to master in Hollow Knight while also being one of the best. That concludes day 33 of discussing the bosses in Hollow Knight.
Also on a side note I'm so happy to hear from everyone that got early access to the game saying it's worth the hype. This is the first time a Fromsoft game has ever gotten perfect 10/10 scores and I'm just even more excited.

Day 186 thanking miura by rereading multiple Berserk chapters a day and disscussing them.
Day 186 : Ch 342 + Ch 343 Ch 344 + Ch 345 + Ch 346 + Ch 347 + Ch 348 + Ch 349 + Ch 350
Ch 342 : Landfall
First off, Guts.
Absolutely amazing.
There's so much good appreciation from his side. It might be a little late, but it is so great that he got to say that.
It is really hard to think what would've happened without everyone around Guts, especially as it would not have ended favourably.
There's also a few panels of guts smiling in this chapter alone.
There's mentioning of how time flows slower on the island. It would kind of mean that some things in the outside world would move progress faster.
Speculating on that it could mean that Rickert and co already reached the Bakiraka clan.
Though I don't think time would've moved too much forward and have dramatic consequences. Especially with the last chapter meaning that another month has passed since the last time moonlight child appeared (full moons are every month, and there shouldn't be a disconnect between the moon on the island and outside, otherwise it'd create chaos).
It is mentioned how they could become cut off from the outside world. Maybe Guts notes that particularly much due to him wanting to get cut off from the outside world which had been changed by Griffith.
Ch 343 : Flame Puppet
Isidro and Mustache Knights fights sections are probably my favourite this chapter. They refrect their personalities really well, with Isdro trying to be flashy and announcing his win. And Mustache Knight somehow seeing a sense of justice in beating scarecrows.
Mordas appearance is great. She's a rebellious figure in this place where people usually are more akin to Shierke.
Though it isn't really a particularly good thing.
She's just bringing in a Taboo to the fight which seems to have good reasons to be taboo.
However, they were likely never educated on WHY it is Taboo, as for some reason that knowledge itself is deemed taboo, therefore she just uses it like a tool without any regard of the issues with it.
Ch 344 : Village of Witches
I love the fantasy aspect, it has become so interesting with the more neutral elements on elf island instead of the dark grim world with which it started.
The world is drawn really beautifully and it looks genuinely fun.
One of the more lighthearted chaoters too, with the arrival at Elf island the mood is extremely good.
I don't know how, but it does come somewhat unexpected. Likely because I thought it to be the end of the story when I first heard of it.
I think I kind of expected it to be the first and only good thing after a long tiring journey.
But things have gone pretty different from then, turning out extremely positive even before having arrived at Elf Island.
I find it interesting that the oracle the magician at the start mentions uses the same definition of fate as encounters, just like Flora did.
We also get to see how the magicians are within their own sphere. And with how they all differentiate themselves from outsiders things become quite toxic.
That view was already a little issue on Shierke. But here the entire social atmosphere has that in it.
It reminds me of high IQ societies, which are a nieche I absolutely hate, where people go absolutely insane over their superiority over others.
In those it stems from a differentiation in some measured intelligence, which quickly becomes peoples reason for why they are "outcasts".
Within Berserk it is moreso a differentiation by way of life alone. While outsiders engage more with fighting or tactics as a means of strength, the magicians use magic to get a form of strength (Strength here is meant EXTREMELY loosely, I just didn't wanna cut it down to "fighting" vs "magic").
However the magicians turn it into some way of making themselves feel superior.
It reflects that concept of grouping people togethery which I think can be really really bad.
Within their own group people will start talking the outsider group down to elevate themselves. Which naturally happens as some form of defense mechanism (I don't know psychology so take that as very loose claim, even if someone knew psychology they'd have to do a good bunch of testing before making that claim), as well as due to not knowing the outsider culure and making false estimates of it.
Ch 345 : Great Gurus
That's a lot of complex worldbuilding.
So if I'm getting it right, the world-tree is what connects the worlds, and it had always been observed by people in slight ways even being used by sailors as navigation tool.
And then there's the spirit-trees which eat off of the world tree like parasites, likely creating their own fantasy pockets. Which in the end allows the world-tree to not overlap the astral world and physical world.
And we get some more confrontation of Guts to his past.
I love the way it is done, it just appears semi-casually in a conversation eithout too much depth added to it.
To Guts it is a large and important moment, to his companions listening in on it it is just a little surprise.
It staying that shallow is booth good as it keeps Guts calm, but also bad as it doesn't really reveal to everyone what exactly happened, only stretching out that process.
Ch 346 : Elfhelm
I can't even do anything except awe at those absolutely gorgeous panels.
I remembered the art of these becoming beyond amazing, but I couldn't remember it havinv this many amazing panels.
Normally such quality is reserved for more serious tones, but here it is done just for the magical aspect and I'm absolutely loving it.
Also Puck overthrowing Elfhelm is hilarious. Maybe he did it that idiotically on purpose so that Manifico would just get that dumb plan out of his head.
Ch 347 : The Flower Storm Monarch
Even if it is done with a joke, I love that buildup to the reveal that Danann is sure that they can help Casca.
It shows her rather lighthearted personality, while also pacing out the story a bit and drag out the happy news with some lighthearted comedy.
And then the dream sequences od Shiekre and Farmese begin.
I think it is somewhat important to realize these are probably dream sequences on a very shallow layer, so they only represent more basic things and aren't too serious. Just randomly throwing any kind of elements together.
Like Shiekre being bothered by Isidro personality and liking honey. And Farnese taking care of everyones basic things.
That concludes the onehundreteightysixth day of rereading Berserk.

I finally preordered Eldenring, will prellad it tomorrow.
Hard to think that by tomorrow midnight I should already be able to play it.
Though I am unsure if I wanna stay up like that, maybe I'll just wait for normal human times to play it.

@@xEmpo04 No so Demon Souls came about because From Soft. had a project that was failing. Then Miyazaki took over control and redesigned this failing project in to Demon Souls so that it became a classic.

I can't believe we're almost there
I never doubted From. Not for a second. They have failed to disappoint me consistently for over a decade. And Miyazaki said at the Golden Joystick Awards that he will continue making games as long as he is able to! So this isn't even the end, even though it feels like a swan song. I hope they are proud of these scores. I sure am.
I'm hoping we see development cycles akin to what we had with Elden Ring and Sekiro. Big games with lots of dev time, like Elden Ring, and smaller, more experimental games that get developed in the meantime, like Sekiro.

Only complaint I care about is the repetitive dungeon bosses but I’m sure it’s not that big of a deal
I can't contain my excitement. I've played all the games and first played DS in 2011, this feels like the "ultimate" project Miyazaki has been working towards, a real FromSoft magnum opus.
Im expecting From to put some sort of easter egg to this guy, he posted videos everyday until the promised day without fail and helped keep everyone from going hollow.
Such commitment is insanely difficult to put up with everyday and i (and most other people) have nothing but respect for these daily updates
