- Today I review the brand new 2020 BMW F900XR, the big brother to the F900R I reviewed last week. Majorly different than its smaller brother being an adventure bike, creature comforts such as riding position, soft plush suspension make it a great adventure bike. Having logged a little over 2,000 miles on this machine, I'm still in love. Looking forward to my first long trip later in the summer.

YOu went right past Torrey but didn't turn in to watch us paragliders fly. It's a blast! So I live in San Diego and can't decide between this or the Tracer 900 GT. This is more money apples to apples, ($ approx 2500 more) and yet you get the TFT, better brakes and better build quality overall I think with the XR. I'd like to test ride the XR and you can't really test ride the Tracer (unless you pay $500 to ship it over and then refund you if you don't want to buy it). So I've not tested out either one yet but really need to. I"ve talked to so many of the owners of each and 99% are very happy with their purchase. ONE guy didn't like the Tracer for the fit and finish etc and traded it in for the XR and is happy now. Both are great... Thanks for the video.
Dynamic Mode is not included in the base model. As well as the small windshield is optional. The base comes with a bigger one.
The F900XR would be the one for me. I feel like it is the standout best in the sporty adv category, of course with a higher price. The F900R just has so much more good competition in that category and is really hard to justify the higher price tag. Also the 900 twin they use has been criticized for being a little bland but on a touring bike I think the character fits nicely.
Just so you know, the XR costs more than the R.. The base R is only 9 grand. They are completely different bikes. Check out both reviews I did.

I'm desperately seeking a single adventure bike after an overseas move to SE Asia that required me to sell the 3 bikes that I had in my home country. I thought that the F900XR had nailed it for me but then I saw the limited passenger accommodations in that stubby-ass seat. My wife thought she might be able to live with it but then I learned about the engine being made in China. Uh..... No thanks. Pass :(
There is a solution ... you don't get your wife with you !!!! And about China.... Even Iphone is made in China ... Many cars, Tesla... Since Its BMW I don't worry so much about that...
Awesome motorbike for the price , got the white / granite fully loaded 2 months ago and I am still surprised at it . It really performs in any situation ( keeping in mind its limitations of course ) , 115-120 hp would have been excellent but I think this would dangerously close the gap with the s1000xr . Just installed an Arrow mid-pipe / silencer and it sounds great ( with the db killer in place of course ) , here is the link to it th-cam.com/video/8NPJinQkt2g/w-d-xo.html
