Ooh I made a moss rug! Except instead of making the actual moss part, I bought a green fluffy rug to save myself SO MUCH time. Then I sewed on a bunch of crocheted mushrooms :D
Your tenacity is the stuff of legend. I literally have a small bag of succulents in one of my crochet bins that was intended for a piece of wall art.... Last year sometime? I got to about 30 succulents and then decided maybe I don't like wall art that much. 😂 You may have just inspired me to keep going ❤
I love the way it looks! As for the flowers, maybe add a few smaller ones as well? It would add a bit more colour without being overwhelming and it might make the flowers feel more natural if there's a transition between the smaller and bigger ones?
This is beautiful ❤️ 😻 This video just popped up on my feed and so glad it did. Ive been crocheting for 40 years now and always looking for new ideas. Will definitely try this. You absolutely have a new subscriber.
Oh that’s lovely. My cat Waylon can also open certain doors, mainly the one to the room where I keep my yarn and other supplies. He can actually st my printer to print the callabration page and then try’s to catch it.
My OG cat Mewsli ( from whom I took inspiration for a username many moons ago) was a little escape artist. She would leap up and use her bodyweight to open the front door by hanging onto the handle. She was a lovely cat but a minx.
Very cool! I kind of agree that the flowers don't quite work with this. Not sure if it's the colours or style 🤔 But I absolutely love the succulents and mushrooms. Stellar job✨
I have a little black kitty too and he likes to sit in my arms while I crochet and is entirely unbothered by my movement but attacks and tries to eat the yarn 😆 Edit: my cat also opens the bottom two drawers of my dresser, stands and stares inside for a couple seconds, and then walks away 🤣
What a big project, result looks great! I don't think I'd have the patience for such a big one, but I might adopt the idea of making a few small wall pots. Thanks for the inspiration tour in only 20 minutes, without needing to get lost on pinterest for hours :D
Love the concept for crochet and canvas. I also understand the gelatinous state of being in humidity. Best desciption of my experience I've ever heard!
This must be a so satisfying sensatory feeling as well as the view. It's so idk how to call it, but i like it very much. Only the flowers where a maybe for me but the mushrooms and the stringy things i like them added.
Maybe some blue flowers would make the difference so the other flowers add the touch of colour but at the same time look cohesive with the overall. I love this project since a saw it in your background!
Love it! The mushies look fabulous. But I agree about the flowers - I'm not sure either. Instead of the ones you have I think tiny white ones would have looked better. But still, I'm envious of the result.
I love this, I agree about the flowers they don’t in my opinion go with it completely, you could have made some different mushrooms to give you colour ie red yellow etc. you are so clever!
this is literally perfect timing, I've been DYING to make a moss rug lately (I even started accumulating yarn in various shades of green) so let's see if this video encourages me or deters me lol
This seems like a fun idea! Well, maybe not when you grind it out like you've done lol, but a gradual project with no time limit is my kinda thing. I have a picture frame that I started on years ago, that I glue bottle caps on to (there's a specific ginger beer brand, that has a mustache on them, that I really like the design of) and I really enjoy adding to it every few months or so.
The flowers could be paler, more pastel. I think you have dark tones and medium tones in the succulents and the flowers are more medium tones. Gorgeous though, now I have to figure out a rug for myself, fun!
Although I haven't made a moss crochet art piece, I have tortured myself with crochet projects. I made a baby blanket for a customer, which I thought would be easy....it wasn't. She wanted appliques of woodland animals and they took forever 😂 The blanket turned out really well though and I even managed to get it to the client before the baby was born! Never again though! Fiddly fiddly crochet is a bummer, but I admire your "stick-to-it-ivnous"😂 Great job!
Looks awesome! I have a couple of massive canvases and haven’t painted in sooo long i might have to try this! The Jurassic park “raptors” are actually deinonychus 🤓 also their wrists wouldn’t have allowed them to open doors 😅 creative license lol
My cats are very good at screen doors and sliding glass. I get the screens, because they hook their claws and pull. But I don't understand how they open a heavy sliding glass door and as far as I know in 17 years no one has "actually seen" them do it, and yet they manage to get outside and we discover they left the door open😮 Atleast 20 years ago my Miss Kitty had the decency to close the screen behind her 😂 So as to not let the bugs inside. But cats these days just don't care 😅 You know how people who can't grow plants keep succulents? Not me. I kill everything 😅 I do manage to keep a tiny crochet garden on my windowsill that reminds me one day I should try gardening with my kids. But they already learned in school. They came home with beans and peppers, a potato and a cabbage. Then they came home with a silly pot with a face painted on it and it had grass as it's hair. I killed all the grass. I am terrible. Crochet plants of any kind are the only plants for me
Take a blow dryer to it and the excess hot melt glue will recess into the yarn. I use hot melt on crochet appliques and it actually stays on through the laundry!
That is stunning. I get what you mean about the flowers but I like this project that I wish I had a canvas I could have used to make it. I can’t justify buying a canvas right now but this idea is now something I want to create. Thank you
Not gonna lie, the first half of this looked like abject chaod - and of course I am totally here for that! 😁 But then suddenly it all came together and the end result is just stunning and I love it. All those succulents! Epic is dead right! I like the flowers, just rhe right amount there I reckon!
Recommendation f9r the scrap yarn! I have been collecting any scrap yarn that long enough to tigh together and have been making amigurumi with the mixed yarn! I made an elephant, chicken and lamb. They are so cute.
I really need that fluffy greyish yarn in my house……no idea what I’d do with it, but it has become a desperate need. You can have the cool air from here. It’s been below freezing all week and the heating is broken at work. I’m sick of wearing a woolly hat all day just so I can feel my ears!
Oooh, that is absolutely beautiful!!! I don’t know if it would look better with or without the flowers, maybe it’s not an “either or” but that both looks are amazing!!! 💕
@@SkeinSpider I hear ya!! I sometimes struggle with decisions, and it’s very frustrating, so I decided to change the way I was thinking and start viewing some decisions as equally good either way 😄
WOW - that is so cool! ❤❤Will have to do one of those! ....... Wonder if that lovely cat will help you out with the hanging plants in the bottom of the canvas..... 🙂
We are in the opposite over here in Iowa of the United States. It is -27ish degrees Celsius/-17 degrees Fahrenheit windchill right now. I'm a teacher and school has been canceled 6.5 times in the past ten days.
Lmfao!!!! ❤😂 my four cats do the exact same thing they are always opening drawers and cupboards and doors in the house especially while I’m sleeping! I wake up to jolly ranchers and their wrappers all over my floor , my cash chewed up and strewn about the house and all other kinds of tom foolery 😅😂😂 I can relate to raptor cats! 🐈⬛ 😂
Oh I love this soooo much. I have been looking at other types pf things like this and wasnt sure if it was something I would actually be able to do but seeing you go thru the process, as tedious as making flowers always is, I think i will give it a go. Not this big of a thing Lol but something just to get my feet wet. Great video as usual. Also, i live in the states in Virginia and we have been in the 20-low 30s with snow and sleet this week. So Im a little envious of ur warm weather right now. 😊
It was pretty tedious but I found if I worked on succulents between other projects or just made a couple when I had a few minutes to spare, it broke up a lot of the monotony. Definitely took much longer but didn't feel as boring.
Oh my goodness that is amazing! I love the idea! I've made a few latch rugs in my time but never thought of this. How did you come up with using the succulents and not daisys for example? I have some A4, 5, and 6 canvassers when I used to paint that can be recycled into something more interesting. Got my creative juices going. Brilliant way to use small ball scraps turning them into a picture. Have a great weekend. Are you going to be watching the F1? We won't be watching it live as it's middle of the night here in the UK. xxJane 🐑🌼
Love the final project result😍 I'm also not sure about the flowers, the mushrooms I do love though! I have a question, where did you get the bags that were shown when you were gathering your yarn (the see through bags) I would loooooove those. If my ADHD can't see my yarn, it just doesn't exists 😅😬 Thank you if you see this and take the time to reply. If anyone else knows, please let me know! :)
....it just happens sometimes? I use a curl cream and a mousse but honestly curly hair has a mind of it's own and sometimes I get spirals sometimes I get a head full of frizz 😂😂
That is gorgeous. You inspired me. I’ve just gone to Spotlight and bought myself a canvas. It’s a much smaller hexagonal canvas, as I’m rather intimidated by the size of your piece 😊. I also bought a dual glue gun set. Did you use a high temp or low temp gun for this?
Nice!! To be totally honest, my glue gun is an old one I borrowed indefinitely from my dad and it only has one setting - bloody hot. Sorry that's not very helpful 😥.
Wow!! That is incredible! I like the additional bits ( mushrooms, flowers etc), you are super talented. I recently learned about a fiber artist who sells things like this for big money. ( she uses recycled clothing, fibers). I know it's a lot of work, but you could make big money.

Nice! A great way to save on yarn as well.
That’s so cool I would have never thought of that!

You may have just inspired me to keep going ❤
Good luck!! I won't lie to you and say the process wasn't a bit tedious lol but I think the end result is worth it.
I really love succulents and cacti so I thought your canvas succulents were beautiful. So much work and it turned out amazing. 💚💚💚
I love the way it looks! As for the flowers, maybe add a few smaller ones as well? It would add a bit more colour without being overwhelming and it might make the flowers feel more natural if there's a transition between the smaller and bigger ones?
That could work, I might have to give it a go.
Considering that succulents have beautiful coloured flowers. I have ones with pink and orange flowers.
This is beautiful ❤️ 😻 This video just popped up on my feed and so glad it did. Ive been crocheting for 40 years now and always looking for new ideas. Will definitely try this. You absolutely have a new subscriber.

1:41-1:53 has to be one of the best lines ever spoken in a youtube video!!!
That's so much cooler than the Moss rugs I've seen! Unfortunately I have a bunch of blank canvases lying around 😂
Very cool! I kind of agree that the flowers don't quite work with this. Not sure if it's the colours or style 🤔 But I absolutely love the succulents and mushrooms. Stellar job✨
WOW! Your vertical garden looks amazing!!! Your patience and determination have paid off 💚
I have a little black kitty too and he likes to sit in my arms while I crochet and is entirely unbothered by my movement but attacks and tries to eat the yarn 😆
Edit: my cat also opens the bottom two drawers of my dresser, stands and stares inside for a couple seconds, and then walks away 🤣
I just started crocheting, and I just discovered you - I was bloody stoked to hear an Aussie accent! Love what you do. Cheers from Brisbane 💚
Welcome and hello from down here in Melbourne! 💙
What a big project, result looks great! I don't think I'd have the patience for such a big one, but I might adopt the idea of making a few small wall pots. Thanks for the inspiration tour in only 20 minutes, without needing to get lost on pinterest for hours :D
“Inspiration Journey” - I’m soooooo ripping you off & using this one! 😂
I think this was SUCH a clever idea! Well done! It looks gorgeous!!! ☺️🫶🏻🧶
Love the concept for crochet and canvas.
I also understand the gelatinous state of being in humidity. Best desciption of my experience I've ever heard!
Oooo. Now i want to make one of these to go over my couch in my living room, i love the way mushrooms made it look too!
i agree with your initial instincts; the flowers take away from the piece.
I love this idea! I love the look of those succulent walls but always worry about the upkeep
This must be a so satisfying sensatory feeling as well as the view. It's so idk how to call it, but i like it very much. Only the flowers where a maybe for me but the mushrooms and the stringy things i like them added.
Perfect. No watering or plantcare either!
True, the perfect un-killable plants 😂.
This is awesome! my mom has 100+ plants of her own, making a mini version of this would look great with them :)
Maybe some blue flowers would make the difference so the other flowers add the touch of colour but at the same time look cohesive with the overall. I love this project since a saw it in your background!
I love succulents, I fall into that Pinterest rabbit hole often. It looks fantastic!
Well done with your creativity! It sure would look good in a frame. Keep up with the good work. Thank you for sharing.
Love it! The mushies look fabulous. But I agree about the flowers - I'm not sure either. Instead of the ones you have I think tiny white ones would have looked better. But still, I'm envious of the result.
What a beautiful piece of art! You should be very proud, what a project! :)
I am SO jealous of that yarn stash
I love this, I agree about the flowers they don’t in my opinion go with it completely, you could have made some different mushrooms to give you colour ie red yellow etc. you are so clever!
Came out fantastic!! Your dedication is inspiring 😄
I only have one thing to say...this is incredible!
Thank you so much 💙
I am sorry, I had my doubts. But now it's complete, I love love love it! So creative!
I watch this video over and over because it's so fun.
this is literally perfect timing, I've been DYING to make a moss rug lately (I even started accumulating yarn in various shades of green) so let's see if this video encourages me or deters me lol

When you initially said you made around 360 succulents, it made me wonder if this could work as a temperature blanket alternative...
Very impressive!
I absolutely love this! I was thinking of doing something like this for my living room. Great work!
Critters 😮😮😮 omg its gorgeous
The flowers could be paler, more pastel. I think you have dark tones and medium tones in the succulents and the flowers are more medium tones.
Gorgeous though, now I have to figure out a rug for myself, fun!
Wow. Wonderful work. ❤️
Amazing idea! I immediately began gathering my green yarns. I’m using a much smaller canvas though, I don’t have the patience for 500 succulents!
Same. I went to Spotlight and bought a small hexagonal canvas. It’s about a quarter of the size. 😅
I LOVE this. Amazing work.
Wow that is so amazing. Thank for sharing
I looove your Moss Wall!!!!!!
This is the coolest project I’ve seen.
Thanks so much 💙
The added on details make the work complete. It looks really great.
Wow! this turned out amazing. What a great idea and I'm glad you did it and not me. What a lot of work but will worth it. A True Art piece.

Seeing all those tails gave me anxiety! Lol The project is amazing!!!!

👏🏼 The patience! 😅 Good job though. You should do a coral version!
It looks sooo good, the last addition took it to another level ❤️
Love, I can see you do a unwatered theme, as you have given me some ideas with my scrap yarn
Guurrl! All those succulents! I don't know how you had the patience.
Would I crochet that many?
Your mug said it best. "How About NO" 😁
😂😂😂😂
Take a blow dryer to it and the excess hot melt glue will recess into the yarn. I use hot melt on crochet appliques and it actually stays on through the laundry!
Thanks for the tip!
The mushrooms are sooo cool!
And the rest is also very cool - the colors are really pretty.
I LOVE it!! It is so beautiful!! 👏😍👏😍👏😍
Very pretty! Looks amazing! Great job!❤
That is stunning. I get what you mean about the flowers but I like this project that I wish I had a canvas I could have used to make it. I can’t justify buying a canvas right now but this idea is now something I want to create. Thank you
Maybe you can find a small canvas at the dollar tree and make a smaller version for now?
It could also possibly work with sturdy cardboard if you're able to get your hands on some of that.
Not gonna lie, the first half of this looked like abject chaod - and of course I am totally here for that! 😁 But then suddenly it all came together and the end result is just stunning and I love it. All those succulents! Epic is dead right! I like the flowers, just rhe right amount there I reckon!
Chaos is definitely the right word for it 😂😂
This canvas turned out soo beautiful! But i feel that you should have put a warning at the beginning of the video because now i want to make one 😂
Recommendation f9r the scrap yarn! I have been collecting any scrap yarn that long enough to tigh together and have been making amigurumi with the mixed yarn! I made an elephant, chicken and lamb. They are so cute.
Scrap yarn always comes in handy!
Wow, that was quite the project! Amazing job. It could be fun to make wall art in a similar fashion.
That came out awesome looking! All I need is that shelf mushroom pattern because I can’t find one anywhere!
I love it!❤❤❤
Wow! It turned out so gorgeous 😮
I really need that fluffy greyish yarn in my house……no idea what I’d do with it, but it has become a desperate need.
You can have the cool air from here. It’s been below freezing all week and the heating is broken at work. I’m sick of wearing a woolly hat all day just so I can feel my ears!
I appreciate the offer but I'd still take disgusting humid weather over the cold lol 😂. Hopefully it starts to warm up a bit for you soon.
And by the way big fan of your work your such an inspiration to me since I am still working on my crochet Skills ❤
WOW. Wonderful work. Well done.
That is amazing I love it....❤❤
Excellent work!
Absolutely beautiful
It looks so good! Love the additions you made, really brings it to life.
I really like it, it looks so good ❤️
Oooh, that is absolutely beautiful!!! I don’t know if it would look better with or without the flowers, maybe it’s not an “either or” but that both looks are amazing!!! 💕
I'm just resigned to the fact I can't make up my mind about them at this point 😂.
@@SkeinSpider I hear ya!! I sometimes struggle with decisions, and it’s very frustrating, so I decided to change the way I was thinking and start viewing some decisions as equally good either way 😄
I love this so much 😍
WOW - that is so cool! ❤❤Will have to do one of those! ....... Wonder if that lovely cat will help you out with the hanging plants in the bottom of the canvas..... 🙂
She'll try her best to "help" I'm sure lol.
We are in the opposite over here in Iowa of the United States. It is -27ish degrees Celsius/-17 degrees Fahrenheit windchill right now. I'm a teacher and school has been canceled 6.5 times in the past ten days.
The Jurassic Park clip made me snort my tea 😂
Love this idea!

The struggles of cat people 😂. I'm just thankful Boo grew out of her 'chewing cords' phase, that was not a fun one.
I thought I was the only bonkers person that is crocheting during the heatwave. I am making a hexi-cardigan. So close to being finished. Lol
So pretty!

This is amazing. I am also torn on the flowers. A suggestion I thought might be cool, is to add like a spider or frog or something.. butterflies?
That's a cool idea! I'll have to go through my amigurumi bag and see what I can dig up.
If you have another one; use scrap yarn. And do a wool painting; but just glue it on there.
That looks amazing!!!!!🧡
What a beautiful piece of art. Now what are you doing with your other canvases 😊
Probably more crochet to be honest lol.
It turned out beautiful 😍
Wow that looks hard to do ❤
The patterns are actually pretty simple.....I just had to make a lot of them 😂.
Oh my goodness that is amazing! I love the idea!

Thank you if you see this and take the time to reply. If anyone else knows, please let me know! :)
Cheers! The big clear bag was what my new (well, new at the time lol) blanket came in and a couple of the others are from buying new pillows.
I have hair that is super similar to yours, and I just wanna know how you get such perfectly beautiful spirals 😭 they’re so pretty and uniformed❤

@SkeinSpider I got a dual pack of low and high temp guns for under $15 from Spotlight. I've decided to experiment.
No spooders on the moss canvas 😮
Next, a moss sweater?
Wow!! That is incredible! I like the additional bits ( mushrooms, flowers etc), you are super talented. I recently learned about a fiber artist who sells things like this for big money. ( she uses recycled clothing, fibers). I know it's a lot of work, but you could make big money.
