Great video👍🏼 I'm a lifelong android phone and Garmin watch owner. Interesting to hear about this first gen pixel watch. Let's see how it evolves in the years to come. I do like the way it looks.
You've gained a new subscriber. The pixel watch is my first smart watch ever. And everything that you've mentioned (which I find a simple task) I hope they make the experience better. Like you said I want that mobile phone on my wrist experience.
Thank you for a very thorough review. I was considering purchasing the LTE version but the shortcomings you pointed out are showstoppers for me. You have saved me from the disappointments that you experienced. Again, many thanks.
With Bell, the watch connected immediately to eSIM using the phone app - only problem was that I had to increase my credit limit to support a second line (because I'm a new customer without a proven history). But it took 4 people at Bell customer service and even in-store people (who said they couldnt help me and that my watch IMEI "doesn't exist") to actually figure out that I needed to add to my credit limit on my Bell account. Network providers are THE WORST. I bet if I had an apple watch the in-store person would've tried harder to figure out what the problem was on their end. But because this is new and different they just said "sorry can't help" EVEN THOUGH it was THEIR issue/fault. Truly mind blowing behaviour. As soon as I paid the money they required I was able to connect to eSIM using the phone app instantly... Sigh ...
I'm currently testing the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic LTE and Galaxy Watch Ultra so my Pixel Watch isn't connected to a service at the moment. However, the Pixel Watch LTE can make calls without your phone so in theory it should also be able to text.
Thanks for the in-depth review. I thought it would have had a lot of phone free functions as you did... Glad you've highlighted that it doesn't. I hope Google keeps working on this as I'm really after a total phone replacement. Thanks again 👍
Battery issues are the biggest lie that are told about this watch. I don’t know if it’s because of updates or what. I just came from an Apple Watch Siri seven to the pixel watch and I got 25 hours on my first juice and still had 30% of the watch battery left. I probably could have worn it in additional eight hours and been fine. So, I think having a watch that will last about 30 to 35 hours is definitely decent battery life.
That's great you're getting that kind of performance. My watch needs to be regularly recharged each day. I wear it 23 hours a day for all sorts of tracking and the only time I take it off is to recharge it.
🇺🇸here❤..this is a great vid..just got my LTE pixel in Oct..first bad issue was "lost my sound" aft the WearOS 4 update..had to reset to get it back..that sucked..you tapped on several other issues I relate to..hope you've passed your findings, and advise on to Google..wonder if Tensor goes away for PW3..🤔hmmm..thx 4 sharing 👍
Same .......(connection issues, bugs and lags multitasking,old-fashion charging/charging speeds/battery life)as Pixel 7 pro, both huge disappointment ! Instead of hardware Google efforts ends just at advertisement ! Far behind iphone(even from my 11 or Iwatch SE)... and even worse than most Chinese phones(such OnePlus)! Regret I've bought it...
As a pixel watch and pixel phone owner i can only say this: Avoid this watch, simple apps like weather app doesn't work, TH-cam music and others. This is a disgrace and honestly the worst watch i ever used
... but my video was posted 11 months before his recent video :) Edit: Oh, I see. No, I arrived at this title by myself as a pastiche to 1966 movie but thanks for the heads up.
They have done a ton of updates. You can have a favorites contact tile. You also can use the LTE version for GPS. I just used both.
Excellent. That is good news. I may have to do a follow-up video since launch with all the updates!

You defo can toggle the Fitbit always on display so it turns off during activities
Thank you! I'll have to check it out
@@HowToDoItTech no problem. need to do it on the actual watch, in Fitbit exercise app scroll down to settings
Sorted my esim pretty easily with EE in the uk,their experts are generally pretty clued up,which makes a change....assistant also works fine on lte
That's great! I'm wondering if they've ironed out all the issues since Pixel Watch 1 launch
Any updates on using google messages without the phone?

One thing they did fix is Google Maps now works without your phone on you. You can use it to navigate.
How do I get my routines to show on watch through google home. When I tap it it shows open on watch that’s it
Sadly it's a missing feature at the moment. There hasn't been an update but I'm looking forward to it myself.
I think Google maps recently got an update that enables it to be used on LTE watches without a connection to your phone
Thanks for the heads up! I'll have to check out the update to see if I can make it work
Please buy the Google Watch 3 LTE & redo the review. 😛
I'll have to see what my bank account says 🤣
OMG I am not as patient as you I think I would have thrown it 😂🤣
I know what you mean! It was close... ;)

Thanks for watching my video! I'd love to think Pixel Watch 2 includes some fixes but I haven't been able to justify buying one just yet
1:12 just buy a ram mount, you can't be serious
I'm very serious. But jokes aside, I've since bought a handle bar mounted bracket which is great!

That's a shame. I'm sorry you had a poor experience.
Ripping off iMKBHD title.
