Not sure if you watched the full video or just the mid way point, but it did work again after restarting the computer again. Hopefully you've figured out a fix to your camera though!
I did, mine still hasn’t come back on after weeks later of trying the commands in terminal. Gonna replace the camera and cable most likely. Thank you though!
It worked for me after you said it didn't work I thought it's another dead end like the terminal but I decided to give it a shot anyway and it did....Thanks a bunch
Your experience mirrors mine. I had found the same Opt+Cmd+P+R restart method last week, restarted my MacBook, and it worked. But today, camera is not working again, and no matter how many times I use this method now it still doesn't work. So frustrating!
It worked for me the first time. I kept the buttons held down for 3 cycles before letting go of the buttons and the camera worked as soon as it came up. Thanks I've tried so much and nothing worked except this.

hello I went through the terminal and type sudo Killall VDCAssistant sudo killall AppleCameraAssistant but it shows "No matching processes were found" and I went to the activity monitor to look after the VCD but it is not there what shall I do to activate my mac camera?
Thank you!!! I tried this today on my MacBook Air 2011. I have not been able to get the camera to work at all for the last 6 months and the camera is now working again!! I think the key is to do a restart after the PRAM reset. My experience: The first time the MacBook booted up after the Shut Down/PRAM reset (eg. Command, Alt, P + R buttons) the Photo Booth camera light started blinking and eventually went back to the "There Is No Connected Camera" error. I then decided to Shut Down again, do the PRAM reset again, then I let the MacBook load, then once finished I did a Restart, all without opening any camera related apps. Once restarted, I then opened Photo Booth and FaceTime which both work with the camera now. Also, throughout this whole process I closed all open applications and deselected "Reopen windows when logging back in" to make sure no other application was conflicting with the PRAM reset. So to sum up the steps: 1. Shut Down (be sure to select deselect "Reopen windows when logging back in") 2. Do PRAM reset (make sure you hold the buttons and hear 2 startup tones - the 1st when you press Power, the 2nd after you have been pressing the buttons for a few seconds, then release) 3. Sign-on 4. Restart 5. Sign-on 6. Photo Booth and FaceTime. You can also see the camera listed in System Preferences/Security and Privacy and About this Mac/System Report/Hardware.
