    Harvey is the best ever! No fake alpha bs. I can totally relate to a dude like him. Really appreciate him sharing these tools and tactics. Cheers!

      Alpha males do not really exist. The animal researcher who actually coined the term regretted it. Because he realized Wolves were collaborative across genders then aggressive. Leaders are actually helpers and community men like Harvey

    Harvey's immense positivity and warmth are hard to beat! I know folks here in Cincy that have met him and they say in person, he does not disappoint, he is the real thing, genuine and such a fine example of how much joy we can find if we are not afraid.

    Such an inspiring interview. Harvey is my hero! Everything Kelly shared about Harvey is true! I met him at Leadville and he was the nicest, most humble, kind man. He really talked to me and asked me questions while I was sharing my admiration towards him. He is the ultimate athlete, doing amazing physical feats, humble, knowledgeable, and willing to share his craft with others. He is the such a great role model in the vegan world. Love him!!

    I like that they have had a successful, happy relationship for over 10 years, despite only seeing each other on weekends... While that wouldn't work for everyone, for some people it is perfect. Different strokes for different folks.

    Love this conversation!
    Rich, your awesome talent for asking difficult questions and waiting for the answers is incomparable!
    Brilliant to bring Kelly on too. Her perspective was perfection! There was love, tears, and laughter going on between the two of them it was just perfect. Really enjoyed it!

    Great interview! Harvey Lewis is a great inspiring athlete, with incredible charisma. As a vegan food enthusiast myself, I mirror him. I've already invited him to come participate in the FLORIPA ULTRA TRAIL RUN, which I organize, in some years I hope he comes over. Big hug!😊

    I love that Rich unintentionally stepped into the Couple's Counselor role towards the end of this episode.
    Harvey and Kelly are really great partners for each other, and I feel like Rich really shed light on the the specific nuances of the how and why they have such deep appreciation for each other.
    Ultimately Rich bringing the both of them towards the end watching them talk about each other really brought out the best in both of them 💚

    I listen to RR podcast frequently, so I know you’re always hitting on the importance of getting a full night of good quality sleep. Also, you’ve had guests who speak of how exercise contributes to health and longevity. So I’m wondering, with these ultra-endurance events, where runners go for days without sleeping, does the exercise cancel out the ill-effects of days of missed sleep? Maybe you touch on this in this episode (I’ve not gotten all the way thru it yet). Thanks for featuring a vegan badass runner!

      Also, according to google, the name Harvey means “battle worthy” or “strong in battle”

    • @freeian2
      @freeian2 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Think it’s a Yin-Yang effect. The harmony of Harvey. Listening while running imaging what a Garmin watch is telling him in terms of training status. He’s built such a mental/physical resume. The backstory of 25’ sleep-60 second “naps-“the prospect of 600 miles…how he viewed insights from earlier career (130 miles as status)-the question will deprivation pass him one day. He’s 20 years younger than his opponent who was summarized by Laz as seemingly more fit but in the context of background, there’s where the battle was won.

    This is super interesting. I had been dealing with some significant soreness and pain from my running and finally decided to quit and rest for a couple of weeks, but recovery was very slow. However in that time I was on a short vacation where I did A LOT of walking and it seemed like my recovery had accelerated quite a bit.

    I can only watch this in small doses as I just can't handle the interruptions. I think I figured out the Rich Roll formula. Ask a questions. Once they start answering immediately you interrupt them and then just rinse and repeat. At 1:05:00 (that range) is unbearable.

    • @1jeds
      @1jeds 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I completely agree. Not only the interruptions but increasing the volume while talking over the other person. It is irritating, but I loved listening to Harvey/Kelly!

    Will someone please answer this? Why is running a lot considered such a heroic thing? Yes, it's hard, and it takes commitment and endurance. How does it help other people? How is it a great contribution to the human race for a single man to put himself through hell to reach an ever further away finish line? Lots of people will put him up on a pedestal for accomplishing something so difficult. But seriously, how does this solve any world problems whatsoever? Is this not an enormous ego trip? This is a sincere question, Rich Roll.
