Great guide. I switched from Goro to Sonya. She recovers twice as fast so it’s very rare when I don’t have Kameo available. Also BNBs are an extra 3-5% damage with Sonya. Only drawback is you don’t get the safety on block that you do with Goro. Can’t go wrong with either one.

But it was only today that I took him to the online play and I've had so much fun I'm feeling robbed of not playing him since launch lol. Great guide, the best on this channel imo
He’s a mix of nitara and havik imo. Has a grab special like havik. Dive kick like nitara and long stride bf2. A doubled armored move and the mix ups or havik but the speed of nitara

I can not get his spin to ever work for me, I just jump... it's really turned me off of the character, shame, I loved him in 11 amd had less problems getting it to work
I find using Goro or Lao Kameos a bit boring. Im in God Rank right now and got there using Sareena. I just love the huge dmg output. You can get easy 43 to 47% with her. Plus she gives you great zoning. Ill combine her multiple projectile toss with Laos hat throws. This is great for space control and does decent chip dmg. Plus she helps with Laos approach since you can just throw em in neutral to start full combos safely. Im not saying shes better than Lao\Goro or Lao\Lao combinations, but if you like big dmg, good zoning and footsies you can go plenty far with her. She is hugely useful vs Baraka for example, because I can just zone him out. I can see getting to Elder God using her no problem.

Turn off release check bc sometimes this auto does your specials bc it thinks you’re going to do that. If you wanna be really precise with your inputs move your input window timing to short or medium and turn off aswell “input shortcuts”
No because he still has plus frame strings, 50/50 mix ups, and some of the best mobility in the game with duve kick and his spin move...and not to mention his DOUBLE HITTING HI/LOW FATAL BLOW

Probably not, too many moves and strings to cover. You can test moves and punishes in training mode. I set the dummy to reversal and do my string. I usually set the dummy to use the shao knee, its 10 frames, not the fastest but not the slowest. For strings you will have to do a recording and perform the string. You can set the string as a reversal or just play the recording. Last time I had to do this it was with raidens annoying overhead, which can be interrupted with reversals of strings at 10 frames or faster.
splash youre an absolute beast and this guide is insanely well done. im just not good enough to consistently hit his BnB with the two dashes unfortunately so i had to put the character down
Iv labed him today and you can get away with just the 1st dash, you dont have to do the 2nd one and u just use 1 into bf2 and it connects for 36%. Easy
Hey Splash can you do a guide on Rain and please set the record straight on Rain ranking on Tier list. I believe Rain is strong but definitely not S Tier, he has clear weaknesses and Cyrax is a very strong cover for that but button issues like stubby range without the very reactable overhead (28f startup) and D3 that goes nowhere and is lose a turn. Every S and A+ Tier character has no problems with range past pokes like he does. Only thing he has that isn't reactable is his F3 Throw Cancel/ double overhead mix and that only works closeup and I think is best used after charged water beam setups with Whirlpool under them on wakeup. There are ways out of that. And I'm hardly downplaying, he's definitely A by himself, A+ with Cyrax once he gets momentum and his set play going.

Got the hang of rain as my first main, taking a break from him to start learning Lao. It’s gonna feel so good playing a faster character with more mixups and damage potential, he seems cool. I love his movement options

you can even use Goro assist with his 6frame B14 string for a full combo, so you can punish -7 if they right in front of you

Lao + Scorpion is better than Lao + Goro in my opinion. Easier to combo off the armored launcher.
