I was kind enough to give a shout to Gazzy for mentioning Simon's (excellent) channel. Simon responded 'He's a shagger and a gent!'... Soooo... Bena now mentions Poker Elmo... Get ready for the appreciation, Bena haha
Sick video as always. I think b25 AK on river could be nice to level those weak Ax he has, but if he's spicy and jams on you for a billion BBs it sucks. In hindsight would you size differently?
yeah tbh this could be the strat. i don't tend to use IP blocks vs regs though, as this can become a very slippery slope - but this spot maybe calls for it
21:00 I feel like I would never check. Simply assuming I have the best hand 95% of the time, so any 80%+ size, ideally I would be going for like pot, depending on the dynamics , let him level himself and call with AJ/AQ. Potentially if I don’t think he’s 5betting wide and is very AK heavy, I don’t mind shove to get him off a chop.
Hey Ben, heard of your name from Blackwoods videos few times but never watched them, that is until now. Really good content, appreciate you taking time to run down the in depth thought process as the hands develop. Solid solid video.
I think based on the brief read on the player on the last hand you shared, I don't hate a small be of like 20% maybe 25 % pot with intentions of potentially inducing a bluff jam I don't think he's liable to make a crying call with AT or AJ, or QQ or KK or JJ possibly AQ though, but given he likes to put people into tough situations he may feel inclined to turn one of those into a bluff. As I was watching, I felt confident you had him beat based on the action that led up your final action on the river, so it just became a question of how to extract maximum value. I'm probably just dog shit stupid, though. would love to hear your thoughts ❤
That’s a good idea tbf. Block betting isn’t really a thing IP on the river, but against that reg then maybe it’s good to try to get him to bluff some random Ax and rep aces or A4. Personally I’d just x back and wouldn’t get fancy by betting, but I think block betting to induce a spaz or betting big to try fold out the same hand are both reasonable.
not dogshit stupid at all mate! as demondoink said, i also don't really use ip block, but tbh, if we think villain is deviating a lot (which i do think is true) then we can also make deviations. blocking could certainly be the right play here!
I like sifiasco's play in the bomb pot on Q33 although I'm surprised he went for the float on your direct left rather than on your right. I think his line does a really good job of targeting 23 34 35 36 maybe even some bigger kickers. I wonder why he did not size up more on river though, maybe he was trying to go a size that looks like he can still have like T3 93 83. Or maybe I'm just way off about the whole situation.
when you say his line does a good job of targeting 3x do you mean he expects me to fold those? maybe I’m misunderstanding but I don’t fold a 3 vs pretty much any size!
@@BenaBadBeatPoker woops I just realized any kicker besides an A is chopping. Would you ever call any Qx on turn? I just didn't think he had worse for value on river, but vs his size seems like it's mostly a chop vs the value. Not sure what he wants to make fold though, I'd be snap folding Qx on turn but maybe I just don't understand bomb pots.
@@BarvGwydhyeah my river strat is basically built around Kx for value and forcing tough spots from the Qx region that plays this way. Wasn’t expecting too much 3x from Ben in this line and thought my hand made an ok bluff!
How is your bankroll only 7k when you consistently play 1kNL online? Have you been doing a challenge I've missed or or somwthing or do you keep your online and live bankrolls separate?
first hand, look at his fingers when he calls. It's like "oh well, i guess i got to call that bet" so that makes me think a shove on the turn would work aswell
With all the info you had for villians range, you want a call on the AK hand right? In live play bet size relative to size of game get called a ton more then online sizing where players understand mdf, that being said u have zero bluffs in that line and your hand is essentially face up, but a bet of 1k-1.5k would get looked up by AQ almost always. Great video though, keep em coming
@@BenaBadBeatPoker which 2 quid? Any 2 mate, I don't discriminate when it comes to receiving money that's not even owed to me, when I have just made it up out of thin air mate. Have to admit though I should of said at least 20, can't even buy a kebab for 2 quid ffs! what was I thinking 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂🤣😂🤣😂
4beting tt there vs utg and btn is burning money . Whenever utg jams the spot is shity and when he folds u get called by btn ip which is also shity 200 deep . No shame in folding preflop
You need to be a bit careful with your logic 1000bb deep. Against tricky/balanced oriented players, you might get destroyed there with AK by getting too greedy with thin value. AK has more than enough reached its investment ceiling for 300bb deep, let alone 950 lol. This could be good vs random live players tho. Don’t even think GazzyB gets tricky there, but i could be wrong.
ty for your feedback mate! although i don't perceive this player to be balanced whatsoever. ahh i realise you thought this was vs gazzy - it isn't. gazzy had left by this point!
It’s pot odds at that point. Utg probably jams AA-QQ and AK. So TT probably has just enough equity to call against this range (though it’s close) given that utg only had 75bb and he already had 20bb invested.
@@BenaBadBeatPoker I don't think so. You're paying 55 bbs for a share of a 128 bb pot (3200/25) so you need 55/128 = 43% equity but TT is only 33% against that range.
Exactly my thoughts. Theorywise hard spot to find enough bluffs and really hard to overbluff. But ofc if you know villain is a station then it's different. We should only have Axcc, T9c, JTs and occasional low pp and 76s to bluff with and we have tons of value.
you guys been watching Saulo eh :D you are right ordinarily but in this game i'm opening every Axs as well as all the suited connectors pure lol. therefore i don't think i have to bluff this one

The turbo snap check is often a trap. Especially when older people do it. Like by turbo snap check I mean borderline out of turn.
