      Thanks my friend! As I mentioned, I’ve been trying to get more shots of the airports. People enjoy seeing what different airports look like. That said, I didn’t do a great job at Frankfurt for this one. See I flew in on the overnight red-eye from New York this same morning. I then decided it was a good idea to not sleep and take two more flights to and from Berlin. After a lengthy delay thanks to the storms you see in this video, I’d been up for over 24 hours. So when we finally got back to Frankfurt, which is where my hotel was, I was DONE 😂. Anyway, I’m glad you are enjoying those shots!

    1 day before the very first F1 tornado hits Germany and destroyed the whole downtown area of Paderborn. Never thought that this would happen here. I only know tornados from tv in America.
    I live in Berlin and i've never been to our new airport. No joke. Hope Lufthansa didn't disapointed you. It's our best airline.

      I really enjoyed Lufthansa. I will say that not one of the 6 flights I took on them were on time; but… everyone was having trouble then and as is shown by this video, the weather wasn’t cooperating either. Overall, I enjoyed my flights, especially the two 747-8 flights. One of which is still to post.

That’s said, I will say, of the 6 flights I took on Lufthansa, none operated on time. Find it interesting on a domestic flight that announcements would be made in English as well. Also it appears the fixed portion of the Brandenburg Airports air bridges have cordons and stairs to separate arriving domestic passengers from int'l. The concourse appeared to have three levels. Seems very efficient vs constructing a separate int'l arrivals terminal. Nice video as usual but you sure got beat up on that approach !

    • @sla31
      @sla31  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was definitely a bouncy approach haha. As for the airport, a lot of new construction airports are going with this approach. Where passengers can be sorted in the bridge area instead of a separate terminal. That way all gates can be used for any flight. Thanks for watching my friend!

    Great fly! Have you ever use Google Voice to text/call during the flight? Google Voice is a VOIP service where you can call and text for free over the Internet or cell network (carrier may charge you a fee for data call). You can buy credit for international calls outside US and Canada. You'll just need pick a phone number and be done, or you can port your phone number from your carrier. It is available on Android, iOS, MacOS, and Windows. And you call on PC too. This helps when airline has Wi-Fi so you can text and call without need to use cell data because of airplane mode.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks my friend. No, I have not. It's actually against most airlines contracts of carriage for you to make voice or video calls during the flight. Which is somewhat funny, considering I can remember when the airlines had "airplanes" in the back of the seats. On a somber note, some passengers onboard United Airlines used those air phones on 9/11 to call their loved ones. Now days though, it's considered rude and inappropriate to make calls while on flights. So, I text during flights, but never call. I also have an international phone plan, so I don't need anything like that when I'm traveling either.

  • @ShiftyGuy17

    How do you manage to keep your battery on your phone for full flights, tried to mount the phone once but battery wouldn’t let me record the full flight. Safe travels!

    • @sla31
      @sla31  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I travel with a 20,000mAh portable battery when I fly. It’s enough to charge my camera 7 or 8 times over. It gives me plenty of juice to keep filming. That said, it’s a fine line. Because you can easily cause the camera to overheat if you’re filming in 4K and charging at the same time. Because of that I only charge while at cursing altitude. The windows actually get pretty cold at cruise altitudes and it helps keep the camera cool.

      I don't know, honestly haha. There were a lot of things they did at Frankfurt that didn't seem to make sense. Like here, where we parked at a gate with a jetway, but were bused to another part of the airport. Or, on another flight we used a gate with a jetway, only to walk down the jetway to a bus that then took us to a remote stand.
